Thinking about buying an incredible...
not because the better specs, but so I can get out of the eris boards :S
That's right Evil Eris 3 and a magical 1.3ghz overclock.
1300mhz???? Hmmmm
They are fake, you can submit anything you want to that site long as you know how.
I thought I read that they had a pretty extensive anti-cheating system in place Maybe someone has liquid cooling in their eris
I can confirm they are fake. I am not, nor have I ever had EE3 on my phone, yet I got 8mflops out of it.
What rom are you running. 8 is pretty amazing. Getting barely 3...

Mines not fake... Beesley @ 5.45 mflops. 806mhz. not fake. not much to brag about, but no fake.
You guys with the fast speeds, can you post what settings you have your setcpu at, current rom and any tweaks you have? I am running Aloyius v11 MAPS version and only get 2.8

I think he was saying "I don't have that rom and yet it says I have 8 mflops even though I never did that" or something. As jcase said, they're probably all fake. There's no way our little old eris could handle 1300mhz without like exploding. Hell I don't even think it could reach it in the first place.

Kevlar,
The ROMs that are the Vanilla ROM's with JIT are the ones that pull down high 4's and low 5's. Aloysius is a sense based the ave scores on these ROMs are 2.8-3.2. I am currently running sense-able and get 3.2. I have ran Eris lightning bolt and gotten 5. Oh my phone was at 729 when doing this.

Why? Aloysius with OC is plenty fast. You're not gonna get it up to like Nexus one speed if that's what you're trying for. But anyway, I think tainted vanilla would be a good one. I would say vanilladroid but it's outdated and I had lots of problems with it.

It is fast. BUT I need different ringtones for different callers and v11 doesnt work in that area. So I went back to v6 with my mods. Its decent enough without OC. But I am just amazed at how fast ppl are getting with linpack. I guess its the I just wanna do it myself thing, ya know?

While the Hero is kinda slow when stock, I've got no real complaints. Jit, in my opinion, is almost useless as it makes very little real difference. I also used to care about getting the highest possible linpack score until I realized how unstable it can be.this way. Point is, your Hero may be slow, but if you can't change that then nobody can and you shouldn't be aimlessly *****ing about its shortcomings.

I already own an N1 that I bought at release, but I've always wanted to pick up an Employee version of the phone...as I've heard it has a significantly higher overclock capability, plus I love the back cover
Anybody know if these are possible to pick up, and if so, where?
Ebay.......
Sometimes I see one on ebay. But really, all I want is the fancy battery cover.
Is there actually a difference in cpu? How have I never heard of this lol

Source for this? I have no idea how it would be more overclockable than any other nexus...faik it's just a fancy cover.
Employee copies were "BETA" devices, for testing purposes. I have heard from several developers that they had a higher overclock capability..

lol. It's the modified kernel that allows an overclock, not the rom. It's not even worth OCing imho. All that risk for 113-119 mHz...And no noticeable difference (outside of benchmarks, which don't matter anyways).
With CM6 final and wildmonk kernel I overclock to 1228mhz with no problem. Now having it over clock to 1. 4 gh will be impressive

I've never seen the point in risking a $500+ phone to squeeze better benchmarks out of it. To each his own, I guess.
Again, the rom you use has no affect on overclock capabilities. It's all the kernel and SetCPU.

I like to max out the phone much as I can. It not line it runs at max all time only when its on. It will reduce the life of the phone. But do ever use the phone over a year or two. Nope. Its all a preference. Also you feel the difference on speed with oc.

Best thing about the nexus S is the screen time out animation & the 3D app drawer other than that macnutR14 is killing nexus s
vibrant rooted
macnutR14
super io kernel+OCLF
QS 2018
2.2 froyo
Okay?
And we already have drawer on launchers like adw launchrpro zemo or something
And direct Google support. Dungeon Defenders runs a little smoother on it than my Vibrant with the same specs. They are really similar though.

Once we get a ROM that has our galaxy s in mind ours can kick its ass.
We have the best processor a phone can have currently. But no rom to use its full potential.
The nexus one with its snapdragon, I think, its performing better than us because ginger bread is designed for snapdragon.

There's already several great roms in the dev section designed for Vibrants. Eugene's R14 final is the fastest, smoothest, most stable rom I ever had my Vibrant on and it's still running it. I never tried Nero but from the overwhelming amount of posts I assume it's also a great choice.
Also as someone pointed out we are talking about the S not the One, and Nexus One doesn't have gingerbread yet, only the S. Currently there are no snapdragon phones running an official gingerbread rom.

I run ginger clone, but NONE of them are using the processors full potential.
Notice how the nexus s runs better than us? Samsung DESIGNED that phone for ext4 and other stuff.
Yeah I'm sorry I was thinking about a, nexus one when I wrote that so I also said snapdragon.
I'm just saying when google made the phone they also MADE gingerbread for it.
We have a bunch of custom roms that come from a leaked rom.
their stable fast look good, but they aren't making our phones use the while processor, I'm not taking about overclocking.

The new voodoo kernels basically bring us up to speed with the nexus s, as far as ext4 is concerned. Have you even played with a Nexus S? I did out of the box and compared to a fresh Nero install with supercurios kernel, they are equally as fast from the few tests I ran.

The other day a friend of mine with the new Evo 3D told me that, even while the phone has a locked bootloader and no root, someone was able to overclock the phone to 1.8 Ghz...That's insane! It's 1.2 by default.
Ours is 1.0 of course, what do you think we could max it out at in the future, as more development happens on the phone down the road?
And for that matter, do you think we'd be able to see those "trickle" battery kernel things implemented at some point? I read about those some time ago and it seemed pretty awesome/great for battery life without being limited on usage.
What are some of your thoughts on our kernel-ish future?
Tegra 2 optimization with 1.5 ghz max overclock imo.
I'm not putting my phone past 1.2 though. 1.2 tegra results are 3300ish/2800ish on smartbench, and that's good enough for anything on android atm.
We just need a CM7 build on the atrix. Even if it's not too great. That'll attract a huge crowd to it and then we'll have an even more active dev community.
1.8ghz Evo3d is about equal with a 1.0ghz atrix lol
The Xoom Tegra 2's seem to be overclocking rather well.
1.5ghz looks like the sweet spot.

It all depends on the voltage.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the clock doesn't affect the heat of the chip, only the voltage does (which can change with the clock, but doesn't have to). So you can have a 1.2 ghz cpu running at 6mv and a 1.0 ghz cpu running at 6mv and they will run at the same temps (if I'm correct).

I have my Xoom stable at 1.6ghz. From what I've read, that seems to be pretty standard, some unlucky soles have to settle for 1.4 (or even less) but there's also a decent number of lucky ones who have it running stably 1.7ghz.
I've had my Atrix for a month or so now, and being international, can't unlock the bootloader (yet). Can't wait to see some custom ROMs/kernels!!

I say 1.5 is easy for us. Perhaps 1.7/1.8 can come at a later time, but I've seen Faux's kernel on the G2X for 1.5, and that just seems to be a sweet spot for Tegra2.

Is a Build.prop.edit a bad thing? If that's the case I think I'm just going to go ahead and root and see if I can use EI20. The problem is once I put EI20 on my phone, I won't be able to update anymore right? It will be nice to have my phone Bingless though.

Can you take some screenshots please? Fascinate has had the ability to do so since Froyo (hold back key and hit powerkey). I want to see how it looks like, and what kind of Quadrant scores you are getting, can you also please link the apps?

Quadrant is a bit bunk I agree with that, but I noticed that on Galaxy S phones running 2.3.4 and higher that the Quadrant scores have been reading anywhere from the low 1400s to the low 1700s. I just wanted to know what they changed in Gingerbread that made the phones a bit more responsive.
That said bro, /beg would be nice to see some screenies.
I'm really wondering how EH03 matches up against EI20 on the generic sch-i500(Showcase) or how it matches up to EH09 on the Mesmerize.
It's about time this is happening for the fascinate....how about the droid charge? I think samsung forgot they even made the Charge....

This sounds like a bit of fail on Verizon's end.
Too bad none of the leaks are stable...nothing but problems with force closings, random loud static while on calls and other various problems. I think Verizon is actually swapping them for totally different devices if you call and complain...

it seems like the latest leaks are a lot better
but the call and complain for devices has always been around...but try and do it two devices in a row, they eventually do catch on
woah you guys are just now getting GB testing? and I thought the Epic4g had it rough. How is the leak?

From what I heard, the leak is pretty good, everyone says the phone has really sped up with this Gingerbread build, not only that, but for once when you hit the search button it goes directly to Google search, no more Bing crap. That said, Bing is still on the phone, but much less prevalent.
What kind of Quadrant scores are you getting with Galaxy S Epic 4G Gingerbread official release?
