In my searches i see that before install any cooked ROM you must use Hard SPL, and there is dedicaded ones for especific machine (maybe im wrong).
Is there a Hard SPL for Qtek9000?

No HardSPL is required for the HTC Universal
(it was built before HTC put in the copy-protection that made using a HardSPL necessary)

I just bought a 7500 with an Italian ROM
version rom 2.21.408.1
radio 1.50
But don't speak Italian !
(I know what you are going to ask...)
before I try my luck with vanilla's etc.. wer can I find a normal simple Rom
The HTC site where I registered give me only Italian version
Could someone that do not like Pizza help me ?

Unlock it to SPL 1.2, then try out any of the WM6 WWE stock ROM. Think carefully and beware of the consequence of unlocking to spl3.5, cause it is a way of no return, at least for now and may be a long long time to come.

I love Pizza but I know, Pizza is the end of a looong trail, and you are just in the middle of the beginning ,
If you want to change language or vendor ID, or just to flash ANY rom you like (even an ORIGINAL HTC Sauerkraut version ), do you need to change the SPL. In this way your device will became SUPERCID (or just the flashing process jumps over the CID info).
Your ATHENA has ITALIAN LANGUAGE hard coded into the SPL and you can't change it without affecting the SPL (Language id and Vendor id are the CID and SUPERCID means... joker)
Use ATHENA WRAPPER, from OLIPRO (donate if you like) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316846.
ATHENA UNLOCKER is just for SIM unlocking too
After this stage you will have a new SPL called HARDSPL (because it is hard coded, is IN the ROM), and the flashing process will be free for all ROMs. Your SPL will be 1.2
Original ATHENA ROM is a WM5 rom, the UPDATE is a WM6
From HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397518 you will find the newest ROM, the German listed is WM6.0 , the other are WM6.1 (no official WM6.1 for athena).
If you choose from that list the AP4 your device will have a newly partioned ROM, called SPL 3.5 and in the next future you can't use neither original HTC ROMs nor cooked 1.2 SPL ROMs. The only advantage in SPL 3.5 is the capability to use AP4 and AP5 (it needs more ROM space)

Dear fellows i tried many roms provided on this site under opal forum but it gives error image file corrupted.
is my device locked or i am missing some procedure please guide
First of all you should do hard spl. Hard spl is present at the top of opal rom development. After successful hard spl, you can install any rom.
i tested the same rom it do upgraded the same version
same rom works y not 6.5 is it offical 1 or created privately

I have a question though.. does flashing a SHIPPED ROM (not a DUMPED ROM) after CID-unlocking the device with HardSPL causes the device to brick??
In other words.. does a shipped ROM contain SPL?? cause I read that HardSPL cannot be overwritten so that may brick the device..
Sorry if that question has been answered before.. I tried the WIKI but I couldn't get a definite answer..

All shipped ROMs contain an SPL.
If you have a Hard SPL it will not allow flashing of ROMs with built-in SPLs. That's the point of it being called a HARD SPL.
If you have the USPL instead of Hard SPL it will allow flashing of ROMs with built-in SPLs (but not safe).
If you don't have any USPL/Hard SPL, but just the stock SPL and you use the white screen method instead to flash, it's even less safer AND NOT RECOMMENDED.. because, if you brick your device you won't be able to flash anything from Bootloader since you only have the original SPL.
The white screen method is only used to flash the USPL or Hard SPL. If you have a Hard SPL, the white screen method is the only way to downgrade to another SPL.
You can remove the SPL from the shipped ROM though.. (i.e. use NBHextract.exe to grab all the components then rebuild just the OS.nb with HTC ROM Tool).

I have a brand new XDA orbit 2, which is offered with a warranty by the supplier.
I put the O2 official WM6.1 upgrade on it (RUU_Polaris_O2_UK_3.13.206.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.07_1.59.42.15_Ship.exe) which flashed fine.
I intend to try one or more of the many great sounding WM 6.5 rom images, however, I have a few questions, mainly related to SPL/HardSPL, which although I have done a bit of searching for, have not found definitive answers for ...
Are there any differences between POLA100 and POLA200 devices (will HardSPL work fine on my XDA Orbit 2 / POLA200).
How can I restore the original SPL on the device?
Can I extract the original SPL from a) the device, b) the ROM image, c) source elsewhere?
With HardSPL installed can I reinstall the official upgrade rom with HardSPL still in place (in case of stability problems, with rom images).
Also - anything else I should be thinking about before flashing this device (note I am going deactivate copilot before flashing)?

I got this phone from a friend of mine, so i wanna pimp it without breaking it.
I am still not totally clear on the Hard-SPL and USPL.
I got the Elf 64/128.
original SPL: : 1.11.0000
I want to flash to Onyx WM 6.5
I read somewhere on this forum that i need to use the USPL first.
I already got the ELF USPL patched 1.19.0000SPL now ready to be installed.
Is this correct?
And can i install an Hard-SPL after that? or isnt that really necessary?
If so, does it matter wich one i use for HARD-SPL?
for example the 2.27.0000 i think it was.
I know, a lot of questions, but it would really help me out here
