as there are several builds of android floating around the forum, some do have a "car panel" shortcut amongst the programs and other builds do not.
Since the GPS is working and gmaps navigation too, i like this car panel very much but on my favourite buld, the mattc 1.4 i can´t find how to launch the car panel
Any suggestions?

Chances are that car panel was not pre-installed on your build.

I mean has anyone hacked a build of Android with the Sense UI that will run on the Imagio.
If you are just looking for an emulator to impress your friends use this. It's actually quite cool, you can customize icon size, position, flick between 3 app screens and use your finger to draw the navigation pane up.
There is actually a port of Android on the Blackstone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572537 The devices are very similar, so maybe someone could modify it to work on the Imagio.
I'd absolutely love for android to be on my Imagio. Anyone know if anyone's working on it?

Try Point UI, If you download the free version there are many themes to choose from. Try the pointsense theme, latest version. I was running it on my vogue till I got my Imagio and it was just like my brothers Droid.

.flv works but little jumpy, you can use the youtube app, or there is a very good browser called 'Dolphin Browser' that allows .flv to be downloaded to yoru phone as a .mp4 file. cannot tell you about .swf

Sense UI does not work in landscape mode, everything else does as long as you have the option ticked for auto rotation.
Is there a GPS Navigation software available for Android?
Yes, you can buy Copilot for £22 for 1 map or £54 for all maps, or just as good AndNav2 works great and is freely available. Plus, GMN may be launched in the near future (fingers crossed)

?? Who knows? I woudl imagine at some point but I cannot see it being a priority.

The Bugs are:
Alarm doesn't work if the device is in standy by, but i've read also that this issue comes only when the sim isn't plugged..
about the BT, it can't transfer files, i've read this in many sites/forum and also in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=586700) --> "Doesn't have Bluetooth transfer built in. There's a bluetooth app in the market, but it won't work until 2.0 comes out for the tattoo. Sorry"
Another simple question: can i record a phone conversation in "both sides"? Is there an app or it has an hardware limitation like my Xperia X1 that can only record my voice?

As ridiculous as it sounds - it cannot.
You can send via bluetooth if u download a app that is called " Bluetooth File Transfer "
It's on the market.

That app is not yet compatible with Tattoo. It needs Eclair to work correctly.
Hope HTC will release the upate soon

I would also appreciate your comments about the Tattoo; user experiences - why YES and/or why NO
Bluetooth file transfer will not work. The Bluetooth File Tranfer app does not work with Tattoo on Android 1.6.
I assume most GPS Nav. programs would use EDGE or 3G services rather than WLAN, since you won't be connected to 1 network while you're navigating!
Apparently it's possible, but there has been no documented or official way of doing it AS OF YET.
Why YES to the Tattoo:
It's compact. Good form factor. Affordable for me. Good social networking integration.
Why not:
Bad camera, both for pics and videos. Application compatibility with smaller screen(not all of them work, but most of the apps available on Market work fine). Battery life is less when features like Wi-Fi, mobile internet or GPS is used(as expected from any smartphone).
Can anyone confirm that "hcitool" is working in the terminal? "hcitool dev" should give information about the bluetooth adapter in the telephone. hcitool scan should give bluetooth devices nearby. I need to know this before I order this telephone. Thanks in advance!

if you search on android market there should be smart keyboard pro, which has loads of skins to soot ur needs
ah thank you! also, is there anyway to not use HTC messaging on the new build? so i can just use the android messaging client

I am not sure if you can switch to default or anything, but there are heaps of sms apps on the market, a couple of which are pretty good - once installed you can make it the 'default' app, disable notifications in the htc version and away you go.
Using the stock keyboard
I'm not sure what the old keyboard you were looking for looks like, but I was successful at adding the stock keyboard (with voice input) back as noted in my recent post in the thread titled "Froyo 2.2 Keyboard APK" (post 20).
Sense was was a great improvement for WinMo, but the UI kind of sucks (imho) for Android. I upgraded to the FroyoStone update the other day and it seemed more stable (less SoD, that's for sure). But the HTC junk scattered across the UI ruined it for me.

So I install the default Froyo Car Home to replace the Sense version, my question is how to I update the unuse panel on the second screen? I've search everywhere but cannot find a solution. Is this customizable like the Droid X car home? If not is there a ported working one for the Evo?

I have installed HTC locations by flashing with the fantastic RCMixHD rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789830
I have had no problems with this rom, fast, stable and comes with locations as standard. I have purchased the locations (30 days @ £3.99) and it works quite well. Got to admit i prefer Navigon though, but locations should be better when it is tomtom powered rather than Route 66.
