[Q] Coordinated HD2 Android development & funding - HD2 General

Hello
Is there a co-ordinated and sufficiently cash-donated development for Android on HD2? This phone is amazing with Android, but I am finding too many variations on the same theme - Radio ROMS, zImages, Android versions etc.

HTC Rom Version

Hi Folks
First time on here and a noob to the HTC HD2.
I was wondering if there is a list of Rom versions for the HTC that I can take a look at as the one that came with my phone is a bit bland now and would love a change. Any links or recommendations would be great.
Regards
Frankie

[Q] HD2?

I am an active Dev in the Vogue android forum (just look)
I'm jholtom
I am thinking about getting an HD2 for Development and other fun stuff.
Is it a good dev phone and such?
Would I find a transition from Vogue to HD2 smooth or difficult in terms of rom cooking?
Thanks
jholtom
Well WinMo cooking has kind of died off when android appeared. And now that WP7 is available too, you can expect WinMo to be less popular.
Onto topic, yes it is a fun dev phone. If it weren't, we couldn't have had android and WP7 on our phones so fast. (Thank you DFT )
ok great that means i should assimilate quick with all the activity
I may be a new Dev on HD2 soon
1) You are trying to mention that you're developer in a lot of your post, you think that would save you from beeing called to use search etc? Which moves be to 2 and 3.
2) Use search, read forums, you will find lots of information on development etc na dwould see that HD2 is really good for it.
3) Learn to name your topics "[Q] HD2" is obviously better then usual "please help" that people post, but still far from "[Q] ROM cooking on HD2 compared to Vogue"
PS your only thread as "Dev" has only 1 url to build which is broken and leads to this url is invalid or file was removed.
I have a working espresso build as well as a froyo sense build for the vogue as of now neither has been done. I have just not finished posting all of them yet.
I also have a successful Miui theme and setup for the vogue.
I am in the middle of Exams and have not been able to release my roms yet

General: Posting access in dev forums

Hi,
I am relatively new to the HD2 forum, as I bought one dirt cheap to install Android on. But since I am so new I cannot post to Dev forums. I am reasonably skilled android user and have flashed 20+ different roms without error to try them out.
Is there any way to gain access faster than posting 10 other places in order to write comments to the dev threads with my experiences?

[Q] Android Rom's Chart Rating??

Hey, firstly i would like to apologize if this is completly in the wrong section.
I was thinking that for everyone who is using Android roms on thier HD2 it is sometimes hard to choose which one to use.
So i thought could it be possiable for the users to review thier thoughts of each rom by rating different aspects of the roms? (e.g. internect, gps, battery, speed etc...)
thanks you
Oh how I would love this feature on XDA.
Extra points could be awarded for ease of installation and quality of guides and FAQs...
With so many ROMs to choose from, having them categorized and rated would most certainly help new users out...

Complete HTC HD2 Guide, part of Android Dev Codex (merge with XDA-University)

> Abstract: I have consolidating a complete, monolithic, and community editable guide to the HTC HD2, since none has existed prior. Come in and help with the guide.
The HTC HD2 is probably one of the most awesome devices ever made, with a long-running developer community, attracted by the HD2's ability to run a dizzying array of operating systems
Unfortunately, owing to it's messy evolution, the guides for most devices on XDA are, (quite honestly, no offense), outdated and disorganized, divided among tons of guides and maintained by OPs who may or may not be active. The reality is, forums are great for development and asking questions, but they are bad for constantly fluctuating guides that demand community support. The result is the status quo on XDA; newbies constantly asking "obvious" questions about methods and issues long since solved.
To rectify this situation, I have been creating a complete, monolithic, and community editable guide to the HD2. It takes you all the way from boring ol' Windows Mobile 6 to the greatness of triple-booting Windows Phone 7, Android, and full-blown Linux on one phone. It will also give readers a few tips and tricks for troubleshooting common problems, and using the phone in general.

This guide is part of the Android Development Codex, an initative to create a customized and functionally complete modding guide for every device we can get our hands on.The entire thing is stored on Github Wiki, so you can edit it if you have a github account.
## The Android Development Codex is not finished! Why are you releasing it now?
Originally, I was going to keep the Android Development Codex an anniversary secret until all the guides for the devices I owned were complete. However, a new project called "XDA University" is being started, so am prematurely releasing my work to the community and awaiting further developments. As a result, only the HTC HD2 and the HTC Droid Incredible have functionally complete guides at the moment.
If anyone knows the people who have a hand in creating the XDA University, please PM me, because I have some very good insight and great ideas to make that project a success, not to mention data.
