(Im pretty sure anyways)
I had installed Cyanogen 5.0.8 about a week ago. Everything was going fine until this morning when it stopped receiving calls. Why? Im not sure yet. I was about to investigate when I noticed everything was in Portuguese.... (or spanish, but im pretty sure the former).
I figure its as simple as going to the settings and changing it.. only I haven't really had time to memorize the settings menus.

I've been reading a lot of posts here, now I've got a question one of you might know the answer of.
I bought mine in june, and since a few weeks I've had tons of calls that ended unexpectedly, so I'm pretty sure it's my phone's fault and not of all the people I call. It happened with at least 5 different callers. But it doesn't happen all the time though, occasionally calls go fine, and then they go wrong like three times in a row with the same caller. Calling while charging seems to help, at least it never has gone wrong then. Does anyone have a suggestion? Like hard reset?
(it's not the simcard, I have changed providers a week ago and it's still the same)
My phone is rooted with OCLF and Voodoo, (is that a bad combination?)
Thanks in advance.
Hi not to sure if this is a rom or phone issue.
But people can not connect to my phone when ringing me, keep getting my answer phone.
And i do not recieve any messages sent to my phone.
This problem only happens once that phone has be turned on, for an undetermind length of time.
If i reboot the phone, i get all my messages, and messages telling me i have missed calls.
Its getting a bit of a pain now, i love my phone.
Im running the latest radio for orange 63.18.55.06pu_6.35.15.14
elelinux 7.0 v1.6 android 2.3
and flykernel 12a.
This problem happens with all roms i have tried recently. Sense and non Sense.
Any help would be great
Cheers Steve
Have you checked to see if you APN is configured correctly? I have found that sometimes when flashing the APN is fine while other times it seems to lose the proxy setting.
Have a look at Menu->Settings->Wireless&Networks->MobileNetworks->AccessPointNames. Make sure your APN is correct and selected.
Settings can be found here: http://androidforums.com/hero-support-troubleshooting/45005-mobile-network-apn-settings.html
PS. Don't forget to save after you make any changes.
Thanks for the replay
All settings are correct, i spoke to Orange on Friday, and they said it was a common issue a lot of customers are having at the moment.
He sent me a text message to change my phones internal settings.
Usal thing read dealet switch off for 30 secs.
ITS HAS NOT WORKED.So back on the phone to them later.
I'm new and ive been having problems with my phone. rooted(gfree) and flashed to royal ginger 2.0. i was getting miss calls but i was never getting them. they go to VM. I thought it was the ROM so i went to CM7 7.0.2. at 1st it was good but same. after playing with it i think its because i turn on 2g only to save battery. i know edge doesnt allow voice and data at the same time but it happens when its just sitting there. the only sync i have is for contacts. im guessing its running in the background and thats why im missing calls. does anyone been having this issue? thanks for any help.
Not sure if I'm posting this is the right place, but I'm having slight issue, it's a bit annoying as well. I flashed Slim Bean on my N4 last week or so. After using it for couple days I noticed that I'm not receiving texts from a bunch of people. So I thought I messed up something while flashing my phone as it was my first time doing it even though everything worked fine and I could send texts. Yesterday, I flashed Cyanogen Mod 10.1.3 thinking that it will fix the issue especially since it's a stable version. But it hasn't.
I googled around a bit but couldn't really find anything. I sent messages from my mom's phone to my phone and I received them immediately, our phones are both on Rogers, one of my friends that I text quite often is also on Rogers and I get all his texts. It seems that I can't receive texts from other carriers. So I have no idea what's going on.
Anyone know what the issue might be or how to fix it? I think it's from flashing a custom ROM onto the phone since it worked before. I was going to call Rogers but I doubt they would help since it's not stock anymore, they'd just tell me it's my fault probably.
Make sure you entered the Roger's APN and save it.

Where do I enter the APN?
System settings/more/mobile networks/access point names
Settings -> More... -> Mobile settings -> Access Point Name
Roger's APN here:http://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.po...6681+42&_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=support_results
After you're done entering it, make sure you press the menu button and save the APN and select it.
So I have a Huawei p8 gra-L09 with Huawei P8 [ROM][6.0] fRomFuture - Home that I installed a couple of months ago. Everything has worked perfectly up until recently when my phone does not find any 3g networks, only 4g. When I try to make a call it's stuck on 4g. I don't even know if my phone is the problem or if it's my carrier. I tried to call them, they said they "made the network better".... But the problem came back after 1-3 days again.
Can I solve this somehow? My phone is also rooted but that doesn't really matter I guess..
Check the fRomFuture thread, another guy in that thread has the same issue..
did you managed to get the issue resolved?
Well, nope. Turning of 4g sort of fixes the problem I think. The connection drops sometimes but most of the time it works. Also I changed to stock b392 because I could not turn off 4g in the build that was used in fromfuture - home for some reason. It automatically turned it on just after chabging to only 3g/2g.
Still doesn't work as intended though and I am 99.9% sure it is not because I don't know how to flash. Used adb and fastboot and unlocked bootloaders and whatever on so many phones since my first smartphone (htc wildfire).
Are you by any chance Swedish or scandinavian? Could it be that it is not compatible with the networks in some countries or something?

No i am in UK; i bleive the single sim version supports all the bands, at least here in UK; it is a phone i just bought off ebay and i can return it but I wanted to be sure it wasn't something that could not easily be fixed before doing so.
Hi again. I have sort of figured something more out about the problem. This morning 3G did not want to work again. So I googled, and googled and googled. Tried everything basically. Then I noticed that my APN settings are not what they were last time I set them(???). So I went into my carriers website. Set the correct apn values and removed any unnecessary values that did not seem to affect anything. Then it immediately worked again. Now I have no idea how phones sets the default settings but it seems like they are wrong? Maybe this was just random that it started working after applying the correct settings again. No idea, going to see if it works all day or if it randomly stops working as earlier.
Edit: 5 hours later still works and the connection hasnt stopped randomly.
Ok so it has worked for 13 hours. It's actually weird if the APN settings for 4g broke the 3g connection sometimes randomly throughout the day, right? I don't know how apn settings really work but I remember setting a port number and also changed the name of the APN so that I can be sure it does not change to something else.
ugh, I give up. Now it stopped working again since yesterday. It feels like it's my carrier but so many people have this problem so I guess it's something else..
Nevermind I don't give up. I found a solution . When 3g/calls stop working the phone usually gets really, really hot. So putting it in the freezer for a couple of minutes actually fixes the problem for me, atleast until the phone gets really hot again. I have tried it four times now and every time it has worked.
