I suppose this is another bug. Does anyone have a fix for this as of yet? I try to turn it on and it shuts down right away.

Well, I thought I fixed it with a latest ROM update but alas...
the problem goes like this, when I'm out of cellular reception area the phone shuts down and the only way to turn it back up is to remove and put back the battery.
I suspect this is some sort of strange power saving setting gone wrong.
Any idea on what can I do about it? Registry settings or something?
Help, please, anyone?
I just noticed that my GPS icon is visible at the top of my notification bar. I haven't installed any new programs since flashing the firmware, so I am not sure what is making the GPS turn on right now. And I just rebooted my phone this morning. I haven't rebooted again to see if it comes back--I want to see how long it stays there. But it has been there for five minutes or so now. Is there a way to see what app has told the phone to make the GPS active?
By the way, does anyone else think the new firmware requires a longer, more deliberate swipe to wake up the phone after tapping the power button?
um... I have the new firmware, and the GPS icon is not persistent.
I run stock, and the GPS will kick in at times, no idea why. It's not persistent though.

If you have adb enabled, and can run adb logcat when the GPS kicks in and see what running process that might be accessing this?
Even I have the same problem.
Is it the plus sign inside a rhombus with signal strength to the right side of it??
My fascinate got updated 2 days ago and ever since the sign appears on my status bar.
Also, after the update I am not able to connect my phone to my Mac. Its not able to mount the disk.
Please help !!!
Thanks,
DJ
I like ka5 too.. the heptic feedback is still notworking right but ill keep this firmware until the official one comes..
This was happening to me on JL5. Turns out it was ShopSavvy barcode scanner (Big In Japan). I promptly uninstalled. Just a thought...
Hi All,
Is it just me that has issues with the alarm clock on the HD2?
Sometimes when i turn it off, say on a day off from work when i want to catch up on my sleep, it fails to work when it gets turned back on again. (like it did this morning!)
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks
the alarm clock isnt very good at all...it did the same to me except it would fail to go off when i had work! ive been using galarm ever since. you should give that a try, its $6.99 in the marketplace, best app ive purchased there.
I'm glad that its not just me
I'll try and find galarm, thanks for the recommendation.
Ever since I upgraded to Froyo, when I try to put my phone to sleep the screen turns back on. This has been happening since the first Froyo leak(DL30).
Has this been happening to anyone else and does anyone know how to fix it?

Check wifi and gps settings...there are reports of those turning the screen on...
What in the gps and wifi settings would be causing this issue?

When searching for wifi/gps lock it turns the screen on...
It is still doing that even when both wifi and gps are off. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
