Ever since I upgraded to Froyo, when I try to put my phone to sleep the screen turns back on. This has been happening since the first Froyo leak(DL30).
Has this been happening to anyone else and does anyone know how to fix it?

Check wifi and gps settings...there are reports of those turning the screen on...
What in the gps and wifi settings would be causing this issue?

When searching for wifi/gps lock it turns the screen on...
It is still doing that even when both wifi and gps are off. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Hello!
Going from the official 318 2.2 (EU) to 351 2.2.2 (also EU) it seems that the WiFi sleep doesn't work anymore, WiFi never sleeps regardless of settings. I've done a FR but no difference. Also tried with the App "WiFi Sleep" without success. The reason for me wanting the WiFi sleep is that it consumes less battery than UMTS because of the range to the router.
Has anyone else noticed this and is there a fix that works w/o root?

Fixed. With advancend wifi lock. Wifi goes to sleep when screen turns off.
The problem now is wifi does not wake up when the screen turns on.
I do not know which is the best option.

Anyone with the same problem? anyone knows how to solve it? I have tried a some apps who claims to solve this wifi issue without success.
i noticed that the wifi doesnt turn off when the screen is off. i can tell because on my note 2 when the screen was and i turned it on the wifi icon was not there and a sec later it would appear and would say wifi connected. with the note 3 its always on. i already checked all the settings in the advance wifi settings and everything is correct. seems to be a software issue. i searched if anyone else also have it and noticed that the nexus 7 which is also running android 4.3 has a similar issue and wasn't corrected yet. i wanted to see if anyone here has the same issue.
Check the setting i have circled in the attachment.
Already checked that.

Not sure then. Just fyi wifi being on while the screen is off is not draining your battery any faster.
I noticed that if I put my phone in airplane mode, when I turn it back off that s beam doesn't get re-enabled. I have to manually turn it back on in quick settings. Everything else correctly gets turned back on.
Is this just me or does it happen to everyone else as well? Is there anything that can be done to fix it? It's not a big deal, just a minor annoyance.

I've tried it with sac's ROM and it does the same thing as you stated. I think it just comes like that.
Anyone else having issues with the wifi turning off on its own? Got my S5 yesterday on AT&T. There have been a few times that the wifi will turn off and it can't be turned back on unless I restart.
I've experienced this with wifi settings as is out-of-the-box and when I changed the option to only have it on during sleep while plugged in.

Try this, go into settings, press wifi, then press the button consisting of 3 dots in the top right corner and then press advanced. where the settings state "keep wifi on during sleep", make sure it is set to always.
also check the wifi timer is not on either.
Let me know how you guys get on

Yes, that's the problem. It is fixed by not using the feature... Great, isn't it?

I have the exact same issue and am thinking to call warranty and see what they can do. This happens on any router, very annoying. You can avoid phone restarts btw, just put the phone in airplane mode and back in normal, when you do that it will be able to turn wifi back on. I am wondering is this bug on every att galaxy s5?
this bug occurs when you have the keep WiFi on during sleep option off. this saves a lot of battery, and to me avoiding this option isn't a fix to the problem, because on every android device I have I make sure WiFi turns off during sleep and never had issues reconnecting back when I wake up the device but galaxy s5 has that issue
Anyone else having the issue?
Sound off.
What problem?
If your talking about the lack of screen rotation on lollipop, then yes, I am having that problem. The strange thing is, I swear it was working right after I upgraded but now it's not.
Mine worked immediately after the upgrade then quit. It was turned off in the settings. Turned it back on and have had no issues since.

Mine got turned off in settings, too. It was on at first. Just pull down your toggles and turn it back on. If its not that, I have no idea.

I tried that, I tried everything I could think of. I even got Verizon on their Chat service and spent 45 minutes trying to figure it out. Their solution was to get me a Replacement (refurb) with 4.4.4 on it... HA NO!
