Hi All,
I'm experiencing a major issue with my HD. it will self shut down or switch off after entering standby mode, ranging from few minutes to few hours (3 hours to be precise, the last time). Is there anyone having the same issue? if yes, is there anyway to solve this?
please help.
regards,
sanchez
Check if the battery is properly fixed. I mean, that it doesn't move. If it doesn't a perfect contact, as soon as you move or touch the device a bit harder than usual, it can turn itself off.

i did and still it shuts down.. it shuts down randomly in standby mode, ranging from few minutes to hours (maximum 8 hrs so far). the seller refused to replace mine because
1) the phone didnt shut off in standby mode when they were checking it
2) they refused to test it for a longer time
I have the same problm. Every now and then it will shut down and reboot. Annoying when the phone wakes me up in the middle of the night (htc boot-sound)

yours actually reboots itself? mine only shut down / switch off by itself. my only self found solution is by deactivating standby mode, so the phone will go the stage of switching backlight off but screen is still visible... its draining the battery =(
It's not that strange that the phone reboots, that is what happens if a program crashes.
If your seller won't test it for a longer time, try going to an HTC point.

Actually that was what happened with my Diamond. Even hard-resetting the phone did not help.
I sent it back for repairs twice, but the problem persisted.
You device might be faulty, if a hard-reset does not solve the problem.
This is so weird, last time i check before went to bed the battery show 90% but when i wake up the next morning it is down to 16% that is over 6hrs.
Anyone having this problem? I hope it is just one off occurrence.
I have problem with my battery as well. Is draing so fast. I thing there is a something wrong with battery or software.
Well without task manager you can never be sure what is running in the background. I have similar problems with X1, especially GPS seems to do it time to time. As if the driver got stuck or something. Try to soft reset your phone before going to bed.
As already mentioned you should check in task manager (pref. get a better one) and kill the apps that you've launched throughout the day.. I charged 24 hours ago and now I have 52% left.. 2 hours talking, 10 minutes music, 10 minutes video, 10 minutes gaming, 10 minutes messaging, a couple of minutes WLAN searching for connection. I also have 3G turned off when I dont use it.
I had an issue with my diamond where it would turn momentarily at 11:59pm. Then if it is on charge, it would stay on in a dimmed state hence not fully charging the battery. Still don't know why it does it. My Dopod D810 also did this.
Battery is going down very fast
I have the same problem, I solved this once with a soft reset, but the problem has returned ...
I have same issue as well. I'¨ve charged my device using data cable uto 100% at 6P.M. I wasn't doing any calls charge was about 90% befire I went sleep, Bluetooth was enabled but headset was turned off, next morning I was late at work. I found phone with 0% of charge in battery. So far it first time I see this kind of behaviour, but it would be good to test it again during the weekend .
Had that issue, battery drained in 5 hrs with flight mode on. Soft reset the phone and today it went down by 50% in 12hrs with calls and over 1hr of playing music and texting.
Same problem here, everytime closing apps in taskmanager but the battery drained in 6 hrs...
Softreset makes no difference. Could it be a software or hardware problem??
Google maps and battery drain ?
Hello
I have noticed that there is a big difference in battery drain after using Google maps. The battery having a quick drain. I make a soft reset and its back to normal ?
Somebody else have this same HTC Leo HD2 experience ?
I think for some unknown reason the GPS is working on the background, without seeing it in task manager. ( BUG ?)
All of you that have problems with the battery, how's the network coverage in your area? Strong, constant signal? Or always struggling to have a decent signal?
See posts 62, 63 and 64 of this thread (you can also see the entire thread, maybe it can help).
Have you enabled the MS MyPhone application, where at somepoint during the day it syncs your phone with "the cloud". My phone does this at 6am however this time is totally changeable by going to
Settings->Other->Microsoft My Phone
Other things is it still connected to WiFi,Bluetooth turned on this will drain battery still.
Another thing to look at is look at the TaskManager what applications are running - end all the ones you done need...at this point I would also reccommend Dutty's Task Manager in my eyes the most essential utility for WM
Hello there,
So, I had my phones screen repaired a few weeks ago. For the last two 2 weeks or so, after the phone loses about 30% charge it will start losing signal and then regaining it and this will occur for about 5 mins and then the phone will shut down weather its at 15% or 70%.
After this, everytime I reboot the phone it will turn off within 20 seconds even though it will still have plenty of charge on it. However, It is a dirty shut down. It won't say phone is shutting down, it will just turn off instantly
The only way to solve it is to charge the phone. It will say it still has charge once I put it on charge and that the battery is not fully drained and once it reaches a high enough percentage (e.g 80%). I will be able to use the phone till it drops round about another 30% and the cycle will begin again.
I have tried switching to multiple ROMs and wiping everything of course so it must be a hardware issue. Do you think it is a dodgy battery? Or what could be causing this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

Hello.
I have some troubles with my Google Nexus 4 ONLY when I play Pokémon GO:
- Sometimes the smartphone turn off (I think not turn off if I'm connect in a external battery).
- SIM signal lost: Sometimes when low battery, sometimes with high battery, but if I just minimize the Pokémon GO app, the signal appears again.
- SIM signal die: Sometimes my signal die. The only way I found to solve this is restart the device (sometimes more than once).
It could be a battery issue as pogo is battery intensive. Is your battery old.
Keep an eye on your battery temp. and cpu temp. while playing games just to be sure it's not because of overheating.
Replaced the battery, problem solved

You wouldn't want do it if on a regular basis but you can try turning phone off, pulling battery out, putting it back in after a minute and if that doesn't work, try my method.
I would wait until the battery is super low and then reset network settings under the reset menu. Power down, pull battery and sim wait 30 sec to a minute and replace everything. Then plug in the phone first and then reboot. Let it charge completely and for about 20 minutes more after it reaches 100. If you do a lot of rebooting I have found the phone has issues. I only reboot with the phone plugged in, otherwise it drops 2% every reboot..
Be careful, I did that with a ZTE Zmax 2 once (75% charged battery) and it sent a phone into a bootloop. The only means of fixing it was that I luckily had a 2nd Zmax2 laying around and used its battery on the bootlooped phone which remedied the problem. Both batteries work fine , I just swapped them between the two phones.

I used to worry about this too. This is my first LG product and it MAY be different but at the Sprint store the first thing they would normally do is pull the nattery to look at the ESN. They never bothered to power it doen forst so I asked a couple times and was told it will mot hurt anything. I had Samsung products for uears and have done battery pulls at all levels of charge and for many reasons, but I never had a problem as long as the battery had enough juice left to boot the phone. If not I had to charge it, LoL.
Just thought I would share, I personally wouldn't worry.
I know on my old Nexus 6 pulling the battery with phone on was only an issue with fsync disabled using a custom kernel. I think most phones have built in protection to stop this from damaging the file system.
so a battery pull is your fix? lol some ppl should be hard resetting every so often regardlessi reboot at least once a day
hi
my v20 phone battery draining was about 1% per hour before (about 7% totally ) and recently increased to 2% during sleeping time overnight. (draining 15% overnight in sleeping state)
it seems that during day either performance off battery is decreased.(about 5h with wifi and screen on usage)
Fast charging while second screen is On , is slower than when it is off therefore when second screen is Off , fast charging goes better . exactly , first 30 mins fast charging makes about 40% battery charge(instead of 50%) and after 60 min leads to 85% and full charging taking place after about 100 min instead of 80 mins.
another important thing is that sometimes shades have been seen on the LCD that many users have complained about it.
phone information is :
Android security patch level: September 1, 2017

my actions are as follows :

battery calibration steps for not rooted phones is taken place.(turning off the phone and charging several times repeatedly).
testing battery drain in safe mode in done and didn't change results
turn off location services and location scanning for WiFi and Bluetooth scanning
turn off WiFi being On during screen is Off.
turn off auto sync, NFC, GPS etc.
not using auto brightness.
not using comfort view .
turn off location services and location scanning for WiFi and Bluetooth scanning
second screen is off during test overnight. (either with second screen is ON with faced down to lower brightness in other day test )
phone is in Air Plane Mode and all data services is off.
system apps like Google services and Play and Assistance is limited by permissions.
following are some advanced battery drain overnight figures of my phone for more analyzing.
any help with this issue is appreciated.
While I don't get extremely bad battery drain. The few times I've noticed it going down a bit faster than normal have had Android system at the top of the list or at least 2nd in place. A reboot usually fixes it for a while. This has happened in every ROM I've tried. Also I swear that stupid Wi-Fi scanning when WiFi is off option in locations settings turns itself on when it feels like it. I rarely turn my location on and I've checked a few times and that feature is on for whatever reason
Power down.
Pull battery.
Hold power button for one minute to discharge any juice that may be on the motherboard.
Let phone sit for 30 minutes.
Put battery back in.
Power up.
The motherboard and battery should now be re-calibrated. If you still have problems, try a new battery.
