Why Android OS boot from Winmo is not consistent ? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Sometime I can boot successfully into Android OS but sometime I get green screen ? What causes this problem ??

most of the time its bcoz you haven't started android as soon as you've started. that's the usual reason for irregular gsod. if you've read the threads you'll see if people boot as soon as windows kicks In they don't have sods

so wait I SHOULD have a Android Dual Boot program installed instead of booting up WinMo?

i am using Froyo V1 and I am sure I start to click on Android loader icon each time i load into Winmo..but still it is not consistent ...Wonder why only ?

Look for mskips android launcher in threads it will work fine depending on what build you have

come on, this is known issue for wm mobiles when battery level is too low. I have the same experience of gsod when battery lower than 20%, but over 40% I booted ok.

I have not seen a GSOD since i quit using my 16 GB Class 2 sd card, too slow I think since Android is running off of your sd card. Since I've been using my 8 GB Class 6 card, no issues at all...I am golden! When running Android on my G1 I sometimes saw issues with A2SD when I used a slower card also.
Also, I am not using the dual boot or any other alternate boot app, I am running Winmo and then starting Android from File Explorer.

What kind of probs are you having and maybe someone can help. Many are using Android as a daily build with no problems like me. Give us your exact setup and be specific about your problems.
If android themes cause you problems then stop using them.

That's really helping.........
I've been using android as my main on the hd2 since I got it. I've not had any problems (other than low battery, but that's mostly fixed now). If you need some help you're gonna have to specify what exactly the problem is. Have you tried updating the kernel or radio?

Takes a long time and does not boot into andriod..
I have this problem with booting into andriod. Currently, my HTC HD2 is running on dutty's family rom V3. I have already formatted my SD card using the SD formatter tool. Then I have placed all the required files into the SD card. For the first time booting into andriod, it is relatively smooth, roughly taking about 2 to 3 minutes to boot. I am using Mdeejay eVo Sense v. 2.3 rEVOlution [kernel:hastarin R7.7]. After I switch off my phone and turn on my phone again, I run clrcad and haret, it gets stuck at the booting up screen with the green HTC symbol. I have to take out the battery again, reformat the sd card and repeat the same process. Could anyone help me with this problem??
OS version: 5.2.23142(23142.5.3.10)
Manila Version: 2.5.20191914.0
ROM: Duttys HD2 ML Family Rom (V3) WWE
Radio Version: 2.12.50.02_2
Protocol version 15.40.50.07U
i got the same problem , some one gave me a link to do before installing android
this is the link i got
http://leoandroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=182
But i tried , doesn't work as i wanted, every time i need to format reinstall folders etc etc...
if some one can help us, please let us know what to do
Here's what's on my tmousa phone;
Winmo - Ozrom 4.4
Radio - 2.15
Android - Mdeejay_eVo_Sense_v._1.0_Warm
I use an 8gm class 6 SD, I was using the stock 16gb class 2 but found the class 6 much much faster.
I really don't have any major problems, everything I need seems to work just fine, I only rarely stress it out and have to force a reboot. I did format the SD from within windows, no sure if that matters but it's always seemed to work for me and I figured the phone should know what it wants to see.

[Q] App for booting from one andoid to another.

Is there any app which will help me to boot from one android to another without going to windows?
I have MCCM and Froyo. I want to know if i can boot to Froyo from MCCM without going to windows.
Thanks for your time.
Nope, not at the moment. Since android runs off the SDCard and windows resides on the flashable NAND memory windows always loads before it's shut off by Haret. When the DFT team releases the Magldr, then you might be able to do what you're asking for. Hope that answers your question.

I have the MDJ FroYo HD v.4.4 build on my HD2, a friend recommended i tried MiUi so i put it on to my sd card booted it up then went back to MDJ's build and received an error when i turn on WiFi and excessive battery drain, far more than normal! since deleting MiUi folder from sd card battery seems to have got better but still error on WiFi. is it even possible to have two types of android on your sd card? Or am i just unlucky?

MIUI builds create another Android folder beside it's original file, that may have conflicted with your MDJ's

Almost all android builds create other files on SD card. Normally they shouldn't conflict with each other but its possible your miui overwrote or corrupted something in your dhd build. Also possible for there to be little bits of programming still lingering around.

TouchScreen unresponsive when booting from WP7 to Android

So I flashed my HD2 to Windows Phone 7 and everything works fine there. However, I tried to Dual Boot and partition my SD card to run Android from SD. I've tried 2 different ROMS and i keep encountering the same problem. When I try to boot into ANDROID it makes it all the way to the UNLOCK SCREEN and then the touch screen becomes unresponsive and says NO SERVICE.
I posted this here because my NAND is WP7. Just wanted to see if anyone could help me out. And by the way my Radio is 2.15.50 I believe because thats what I installed to run WP7 from NAND.
Anything will help!

Are you using android builds that are compatible with magldr? If not, most builds need to have their init.rc files edited to work properly with magldr. There's a thread in the sd android dev section about it, also I have many builds that I edited to work with magldr. What builds are you trying? And are they edited to work with magldr?
Ahhh that might be it. I've tried MDJ's Desire HD v4.6 build and the Desire Z NAND/SD Build thats currently up on the android forums.

[Q] Auto Boot Android

Hi
Newbie here... I've searched for this Q & A but ' haven't found anyone with this exact problem...
I've just bought an used but barely used HTC HD2 with WM6.5 from a friend of mine.
I wanted to have both Android and WM, so i did install RAFDROID HD 4.2 on my sd. Everything went smooth on the installation, but now i wanted that Android as my default OS. Every time i turn on my HD2, it loads automatically WM. Tried to install [APP] RunDroid-dual boot to Android [SD] or WM6, and even when i select Android as default, it will load WM first...
Anyone can help me?
Thanks
António

Can you help me, giving me a tip on how i do that? (it is mandatory that i maintain WM intact on the phone memory)
well if you want nand android than your WM will be gone.
but you can always reflash it back to WM later.
if you do not want WM to be gone you should maybe try a different bootloader

Right, you should try a different boot loader
try this: multiboot: http://www.mediafire.com/?nssn9v0ijoy3thv
You can install more than 1 android build on SD card.

I'm stuck with my current ROM.

Hello,
I got an HTC Nexus One with Android version 2.4 , the OS is having lots of issues such as Camera doesn't work and everything is very slow.
Now I was trying to ROOT the cell phone with Universal Androot and it supports only v2.2 , I was wondering if anyone can recommend me a way I can get my HTC Nexus One back to v2.2 or some alternative which works on Android v2.4.
Thank you very much for helpers!
P.S.
I'm new with the whole Android system.
Android 2.4 doesn't exist

If you're new, then start reading the wiki first. Then search.
Dude... the first thing you should do is a software update. the 2.37 is good enough for almost everyone, unless you need "more"
2.3.7 isn't official, you have toi flas cm7 toi get that .i'm currently running this rom.it's fast and solid

There are many new custom ROMs available for NexusOne.
I hope your device is rooted and as you said you are new to Android, I would suggest you to have gingerbread version of MIUI i.e 2.3. Its very statble and organised.:good:
Google it.. you'll get all stuff..where to download and how to flash it to your device.
Thank you very much for all replies guys,
but seriously I did try reading from the wiki what I could but it can never end... there are so many things to read it can take me weeks so a specific answer could be great.
I was trying to flash my cell phone a new ROM although all the ROMs I tried just never worked.
I tried MIUI v4.x and it just stuck on loading screen.
I tried MIUI v2.x And it keeps loading the OS and then do a restart over and over again , like a loop.
I tried some others and nothing really worked.
Currently I'm using the restore I had before I started to try Flashing ROMs and everytime I have my phone started it shows me some lock sign and then when it loads all my other applications get opened too and it's killing the battery, even when I try killing processes they get opened again after a few minutes, not to mention my camera doesn't work too. I am really lost and quite disappointed.
like someone said... android 2.4 doesn't exist. and as far as i know, camera works in ics and jb
try downloading a passimg.zip, then put it in the root of your sd card. then boot to hboot by pressing trackball and power button, then sellect bootloader, then follow the instructions. hope this helps

It is a logic board hardware issue. I had the same problem, htc fixed it for free, even with the bootloader unlocked...
