Phone reboots when mounted !!! - XPERIA X10 General

hey guys,
Here's my problem that im facing at the mo,
When I connect the USB lead to my PC, all is fine with the world, the "three pronged" USB symbol appears in the top left of the screen and I can "mount" it.
plugged in to laptop, three pronged fork appears in the top left, select mount, SE logo fills screen, phone has a soft reboot and asks for the PIN for the SIM card.
Now, rather than the three pronged fork, I get an ! in a triangle icon, but can still mount/unmount.
So my question is, why does the phone sometimes reboot when I mount the USB and then why does it appear as an ! after this.
It never appears to reboot when it is an !, only a three pronged fork., and to restore the USB fork icon, I have to switch off and on again.
thanks for any help and advise you guys can give,
many thanks,
Aaron

Anyone got any ideas on this little problem im facing

Need help ;(

HI ! In the firsth place sorry for my bad english.
I have had a titan for about 6-7 months and a week ago it stopped working without a reason.
It stopped responding and after a reset it only shows the starting logo, and after that the screen slowly shifts to pure white colour and I can hear a one "beep" sound.
I tried to hard reset it and everything but without any luck. It charges the battery fine when connected to a USB port (orange light),
after turning it on i get the green ligh, main branded logo and some numbers (M05 S04 B06 D 3.60 and 2 lines of other numbers but they show only for like half a second and disappear so i cant write them down)
after that nothing, the logo screen goes all white, with some "notification" sound and thats all.
When connected to PC It gets detected as "something" and I cant use any flashing software because it says that it did not detect the device,
one time It got detected as some modem device. Is there any way to bring it back to life ? or is it bricked permanently ?
Please Help
And Thank You in Advance !!
Update: I managed to make a connection between my PDA and PC
it is detected as "Microsoft windows mobile adapter #2", and my PDA_PC is detected in My Computer,
but when I try to flash it the software detects it i get the message to wait 5 min till the flash is over but
as soon as this message appears my PDA is getting disconnected and i get an connection error...
help ;(
Ah... and one more thing, I dont know if it matters but when i open my PDAs memory the windows folder appears to be deleted...
can any one zip their windows folder and give me a link to it... maybe that will help ;(
I have the same problem on my Mogul with connecting to my Computer! For some odd reason it won't sync and restarts my computer automatically!! WEIRD!? Just go check out some of the Unbricking posts or Google it- they may help you!

Touch screen problem again
I have the same issue too, after hard-resetting the pda (HTC P4350) it is stuck on green screen with message " tap the screen to set up your windows mobile based device". The problem is touch screen of it is not working for quite a long time and because of this i have been using another p4350, but i think i am so careless and after dropping the second one into the water (it stayed only 3-4 seconds) its usb syncronization stopped to work, it can be charged but no data connection through usb cable (i have checked 3-4 different usb cables). Now i have a lot of information saved in the second one and i need to sync it with pc without using usb cable. I have planned to substitute pim.vol file of the first one with the second, then i will connect the first one to usb and finally sync. But this green screen really make me dissappointed.
Can anyone help me on this matter.
Thank you for all (at least for reading my problem)

HELP Access USB-Debug with broken screen

Hello everyone
I've got a problem and I need your help. My Legend fell on the ground and now the glass and display are both broken. To access my device with adb, which I previously installed, I used DroidAtScreen. But recently I deactivated USB-Debugging eek, and now I can't enable it. I need to "recreate" every single step from the unlocked screen to Menu->Settings->Applications->Development->USB-Debugging. The first step (Menu->Settings) is easy and abvious, but I need the other ones.
Could some of you take some screenshots and upload them? I.e.:
1. Menu->Settings, then scroll down to bottom **Screenshot**
2. Scroll a little bit up until "Applications" reaches first entry **Screenshot**
3. Press first entry (=Applications) **Screenshot**
4. Press fourth entry (=Development) **Screenshot**
5. Press first entry (=USB-Debugging) *Screenshot**..
I know it may seem complicated, but it would be of tremendous help! My idea is to print out the images and lay them over the Legend to find my way to USB-Debugging
THANK YOU A LOT in advance!

Good thinking, you actually only need 4 screens, here you go...
Good luck replacing the screen! There's plently of material to work with in accesories section
If the digitiser (top glass) is broken i doubt your presses will be in the right place, I have a desire in front of me that has a crack in the top left corner of the digi and pressing "a" on the keyboard pull notification bar down
Thank you very much for the effort of taking the screenshots, but I couldn't access the settings.
The only question that remains is: Does the phone need to be in "charge only"-mode? Because right now, in fact I can access the SD-Card when mounted, so I may have to switch to charge only?
@bonesy: Thank you for the input, but the touchscreen seems to be working fine as I can turn on the phone and enter the PIN-code to unlock it, as well as call a number after opening the phone-application
ADB should work no matter what the mode...why weren't you able to access it?
I don't know... I followed all the steps, connected the phone to my Mac... all this several times, trying to press on the exact location... but haven't succeeded.
I have adb configured as well as DroidAtScreen running and also tried to access it with DDMS..., but when i use the command "adb devices" none is shown. I can access my SD-Card but can't use adb...
I may try again a few times but can't really think of any other alternative than to replace the screen, although I need to access my phone immediately.
Thanks again for all the fast answers and if anyone has an idea or some sort of walkthrough... I would appreciate it.
ADB wont work unless you are using a custom rom OR its selected already.
Maybe a USB port failure?
What do you mean? I have accessed my phone in this environment several times before, everything should be set up correctly. It may be a USB port failure, altough I have tried to plug it into other USB ports.
The only thing I'm struggling with right now is accessing the Debug-mode in the settings.

Ah i see, i meant the phones usb port... Could be 1 pin failed on it stopping certain things working?
Doesn't seem to be the problem since I can mount the phone and access the SD-card, but thanks anyway.

[Q] NST seems broken, please help

Hi,
I have a rooted NST, everything was fine. For the last few weeks I did not use it, as I was moving.
A few days ago, I have reactivated it. After charging it for a while, it worked flawlessly again. With one exception: In the upper right corner instead of the battery indicator it showed a battery with a question mark in it. I look at the battery status in Nook Color Tools, it said "unknown battery error" (or similar).
Today I wanted to use it again, but it does not do anything anymore. It still shows the screensaver image, but won't boot despite being fully charged (at least it was hanging on the wire for a few days, so it should be charged). Long pressing the power button does nothing, the "n" button does not do anything either.
If I attach it to my PC it shows very strange behavior: It won't mount any drives, but if I go to device manager, it will show an device called "OMAP 3630". The device is marked with a yellow exclamation mark in device manager.
After about 1 second, the device disappears from device manager, accompanied by the windows sound for "device disconnected". After another 1 second, it reappers, together with the "device connected" sound, then it disappears again, reappears etc. This goes on indefinitely.
Do you have any tips on how to revive the device? I don't even know where to start, as I don't even seem to be able to initiate a reboot. I would not mind losing any data, nothing irreplaceable on the device.
Thanks a lot in advance!

Press and hold power botton for 10 seconds then release it and hold again to reboot nook .
Likely restoring with 8 missed boot solve your problem .
boot with noogie Image and apply ur backup .....and if u cant boot with noogie Image ... it's Hardware Issue ... repair it if warranty cover
also maybe ur charger damage ur nook battery .... try steps above
good luck
When it says OMAP3630 that's the ROM bootloader in the TI processor trying to boot over USB.
If it's bouncing up and down that quickly, it's clearly hitting an error at an early stage.
Do you have any bootable SD cards like noogie or ClockworkMod?
Try them, see if it boots up.
Yes I still have a bootable image (the one I used to root, I think it was clockwork), but I do not know how to even initiate a reboot. As I said long pressing the power button does not help.
Did you try just putting the SD card in?
If it's cycling in the boot loader it may not need to be reset.
Yes I tried that, it makes no difference.
Also if I put the card in and then plug the device into my computer it makes no difference.
Well, get out the T-5 Torx driver, open it up and disconnect the battery.
if u still under warranty go and replace it better to do somethiing void ur warranty ........anyway ....last question .....when u connect ur nook to pc ,indicator led become green or orange?????
try follow renate instruction......she the only one expert here and the one can give u support (all credits goes to her)
good luck

the light becomes green when connected to the PC or the charger.
Okay, I will open the device and disconnect the battery. I can only do this when I get back from a business trip in a week though.
Are there detailed disassembly instructions anywhere?
Thanks again!
if u still under warranty ....... dont assembly ur device may it void warranty ....just check if it boot or not ....if not then send it back for replacement .....if ur warrantt not cover so , follow steps tha renate told u
good luck

I dont live in the US so a warranty exchange would be complicated. Probably not worth it for a device of this price class.
Also, B&N are famous for their aweful warranty policies, where you have to give them a credit card number before they take the device, and then they decide at their discretion whether they think it is a warranty case. If not they will charge your credit card and send you a new one.
I found a nice disassembly video on Youtube, just waiting for the Torx screwdriver I bought on Ebay to arrive (and for me to get back from my trip).
I've taken my Nook apart so many times that I no longer forget to pull the SD card out before I try to slide apart the case.
Try to connect your device with USB cable in a computer.
Then you will able to hear the connect/disconnect sounds (and when your nook is on or off).
Now, try to press the power button for a while (and you'll hear when it shutdown).
I´m my case, my NSTG was stucked in "Rooted Forever" screen (noogie.img boot) and was necessary to press power button some times and hold. Before, I´ve tried to disconnect the battery, but the screen don´t changed (stayed in "rooted forerver" even without battery).
good luck
Before you open it, hopefully the battery is drained by now. Insert bootable SD card and connect to charger one last time. Maybe will boot after about 15-30 minutes of charging. Good Luck.
Hi,
I just came back from my trip. I opened the device, disconnected the battery.
Upon reconnecting, the device would not boot, but it was clear right away that something had changed: When connecting to the PC the on/off behavior was gone. Also, now the charging light would be orange.
After charging over night the device now works perfectly again, even the strange "? battery" symbol is gone.
Thanks for the help everyone!

Looks like you have to reflash the stock ROM on the watch, seems to be bricked. The problem: I don't think the stock firmwares are released anywhere :/ You will probably have to wait.. Correct me if I'm wrong.
thanks spiderflash
no is the phone just found out after i try with another
is my vivo xplay 3s
