My girlfriend has a HTC HD Mini. Every now and then the device gets stuck. Sometimes in the middle of a phone call. Sometimes just when it is lying around.
While in a phone call she can still call, but nothing further!
She has the original dutch HTC ROM installed and no other programms.
The only thing left to do in those cases is to pull out the battery.
Any ideas?
What version is your ROM? Have you tried checking for updated ROM for you country in HTC site?
I don't know the exact version. But I just checked the website and the last one I have installed is the last one that is on the website.

Hi guys, I am new to the HTC world .
I bought a Vodafone branded HTC Magic two weeks ago, but I had problems almost immediately. In practice, my screen goes mad and acts as if I touch randomly on the lower part of the screen itself. In order to get it back to work properly I have to turn it off and then on again, sometimes more than one time. Do you think it is a screen defect or it has something to do with the ROM?
I have hard resetted it but nothing changes (the ROM is not cooked, it is just the Vodafone one).
Thanks
Hi,
evene if I didn't get answers, I bump this topic because, after I sent my Vodafone Magic to HTC and they gave me a new one, I have the same problem.
Someone says that this problem is caused by a software incompatiblility with the SIMs from the Wind Italian operator, but I also tried with another SIM and I got the same problem (even if minor than with Wind).
Is it possible that no one had this problem?
I tried ROMs, patches, kernels, but I had no luck.
Thanks in advance
i got mt hd today and i upgraded the rom to the newversion from the htc website
now wehn the phone boots it does so with a blurry screen untill you turn the screen on and off
but also it keeps crashing and i mean all the time.
since i have installed the new rom update i cannot get anywhere on the phon wit out it crashing on me
also doing a hard resent to upgrade a rom will that remove any sim unlock you had as my phone was lock to orange but had been unlocked
Hi end.
The blurry screen and crashing sounds like you need to get in touch with HTC and ask them about it. You can pretty much guarantee that you're not the only user that has had the problem.
As far as the unlocked state goes, installing new ROMs won't change that at all. Once it's unlocked, it's unlocked.
Hope this helps.
I have had touch HD for sometime. It was working perfectly until 3-4 days ago, when I could not receive a call. I could hear it ringing but could not slide to accept the call. (I was using stock rom HTC_WWE_1.56.405.1_radio_52.64.25.34U_1.14.25.24 with Pocketshield screen locker).
Over the weekend, I have tried whatever has been suggested in this forum.
I have used task29 and now I am running Duttys_HD_WM6.5_Sense_2.1_Holy_Grail_R0. Before this, I retried the stock rom I was using before. BTW, I have flashed it only twice in one year since I bought this phone.
Now the problem I am having at present is that my phone seems to boot up at normal speed (It was very very slow before using task29), but once it has booted, I cannot access any of its functions. It receives calls and text messages, but I cannot take any call or read messages. The volume button still works. If the screen has gone dim after a few seconds and I touch it, it lights up again, but other than that, I cannot do anything with its screen.
So all the tech guys out there, I have this question: whether my phone can be saved or not? Is there problem only with screen or is the motherboard faulty?
Thank you all for reading this post and any potential repliers.
When you flashed rom, did you follow this guide and use either USPL or HSPL?
Thank you Fallen Spartan.
I had followed every step religiously to flash rom.
I had read somewhere in this forum that the manufacturer warranty was for 27 months on HTC touch HD.
So I thought of writing to HTC support with all the details.
Hopefully I will be able to get it fixed by HTC under warranty.
I have flashed it back to orange uk rom but I am concerned about only one thing. I do not remember what was the stock SPL on this phone (Orange UK provider). Was it 1.3 or 1.4.
If they find out that it was flashed, I guess they will not repair it under warranty.
Any body who knows / remembers please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Hey my bros having some major signal and crashing issues with his new HTC HD Mini.
He bought HTC HD Mini on o2 several months back and ever since getting it it was crashing every now and then (i knew htc n winmo were prone to this prior to him getting it).
It has now got worse and he is having to soft reset it by removing battery at least 20 times a day, sometimes it will crash, remove bat and start again and it crashes as soon as it restarts!
this has now got even worse and he is now no longer receiving network signal! ive tried everything, new sim card, factory reset, hard reset, tried upgrading the ROM via HTC website as they have a ROM upgrade there but no, wont let me install that because it is o2 branded phone i get an error message saying Error 294 Invalid Vendor! have to get the ROM from o2 direct as you probably already know but this hasnt been released yet or as far as i am aware!
Can i use CustomRUU to reinstall / upgrade radio ROM
Will CustomRUU or SSPL allow me to upgrade ROM and will this change anything?
Ive been using winmo for few years and i have advised him to come here to get advice. i had an old htc (cant remember which model he said now) that had same prob that did not get any signal and was told to get a radio upgrade or somethin, after that i got normal signal.
Also he read somewhere about downloading some program to edit a certain registry value from 2-1 or something on the official rom upgrade to allow the install of it on o2 branded phones.
What are his best options and are these common problems with the htc hd mini do u know??
Cheers
I had the crashing problem too. Although not as severe as yours. Around 4 to 5 times a day. Had to remove battery each time, to reset it. I immediately register a complain to the vendor on the 2nd day. Replacement unit was approved shortly. New unit doesn't crash anymore.
I suggest your best option is to request a replacement unit from vendor. As soon as you can.
Agreed- as you've tried all the usual remedies this is almost certainly a faulty phone or battery.
Get it swapped under warranty, and make sure you note the serial number of the phone and the battery as they have been known to simply send back the faulty ones!
Regarding your comment about HTC and WinMo being prone to this- that simply isn't true especially with devices ovr the last couple of years. Most faults and crashes are down to user interaction- installing unstable programs etc, or failing to make sure unused ones are terminated. One of the perils of a multi-tasking OS, and one which iOS4 users are now starting to see
Hi all,
I've done a big loop and have purchased another HD2 after flogging one about 8 months ago (that one was a virgin unbranded one i think) that was very stable with mimimal lock up's/crashes.
My current one is a T-Mobile branded phone and just feels like a completely buggy. So far i am having issues with:
1. The phone resetting itself after a minute of browing the internet using the stock browser (opera i think)
2. The screen freezing and dimming - the only way to get rid of it is to pull the battery out.
3. Currently the phone is turned off (from pulling the battery out) and i can't even get it back on again!
I really like the phone when i had it on Virgin and i want to like it again but this particular HD2 is just crazy. I was thinking of flashing to the generic HTC WWE ROM but i'm wondering if its a hardware issue.
Any help would bemuch appreciated
Which version T-mobile rom are you on. I upgraded to the 1.72 and have none of those problems if its take it back.
Sounds like it could be either or when it comes to hardware or software here or a mix of both which is fun.
My T-Mobile UK HD2 didn't last more than 5 weeks with me... dropped the phone when pulling it out of my pocket, causing it to land on the only gritted part of the entire town I live in
I occasionally have issue 3) as you mention with my generic, unbranded HD2 which the insurance sent me and if I remember rightly, it happened with the T-Mobile one also. I just take the battery out, rub/poke the contacts on the battery and inside the phone, pop the battery back in and it fires up after what seems like a slightly longer delay before the 'buzz'.
I would either check for the latest T-Mobile UK ROM or pick up a generic WWE latest ROM to see whether the issue is hardware or software. In all honesty, getting rid of all of that T-Mobile branding and bloatware is not a bad idea anyway.
