I installed liberty 1.5 and was messing around in the toolbox. I installed the blur gallery and the AOSP camera. When I open the camera app it works fine but where the little gallery window is to open up your gallery when I click on it; it doesn't do anything. But from the gallery app if I click on the camera button it will pull up the camera but I cant get back to the gallery from the camera. I even moved the blur gallery to system/app and corrected the permissions. Still doesn't work. Any ideas why or how I can fix this. Not a big inconvenience but would be nice if it worked both ways.
Okay...still playing with CM7 and I'd like to be able to change the wallpaper. I'd even like to try and use one of the stock wallpapers. But I can't figure out how you add to the available wallpapers in CM7. I've searched all over and it seems the only thing to do is install an app. I can't even figure out how to add anything to the gallery in CM7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't understand your question(s).
To change wallpaper long press on the wallpaper and a menu should pop up.
To add pictures to your gallery, I've seen problems of people that have it downloaded to the folder Downloads that actually don't appear on Gallery. In that case, a workaround is to create a folder on the root of the SDcard and move the pictures there. Also have a play with the option from inside Gallery (such as default albuns). You should try this before creating the folder in root.
I want to add other wallpapers to use besides the 'stock' ones. The only options I have are "CyanogenMod Wallpapers", "Gallery", "Live Wallpapers", and "No wallpaper". I want to add some additional wallpapers to use besides the CM7 wallpapers.
First option would be to add to the list of wallpapers that are available under "CryanogenMod Wallpapers". So, my first question is how does one do that, if at all?
My next choice is to get something in the gallery, but I can't figure out how to do that either and I get no option for albums in the gallery. It just sees nothing.
I think that now I got it!
The only way that I know how to add extra wallpapers is either installing 1) Wallpaper Rotator, 2) putting images in gallery or, 3) adding wallpapers through the market.
1) and 3) are done using market.
2) Go to the gallery (through the app), click menu, show hide albums (or maybe settings-default albums) and check which albuns are enabled. Then try downloading an image from the internet and see if it shows that image.
The images contained in your sdcard, like in a root folder, should show up in gallery.
I hope this helps! It works on mine!
Thanks. I'm having issues with the gallery for some reason. I keep getting force closes on the status bar when I try to open the gallery and I have no option for the albums. I did figure out that the problem is with the gallery and that, after a restart, it found the places I tried.
For the record, it recognized folders in all of these as albums
SDCard->Root
SDCard->DCIM
SDCARD->DCIM->Camera
I'm using 7.1RC1 and sometimes I also get some strange force closes where my status bar disappears. In my case it was never with Gallery.
Still I think you sort of solved it.
Yep - I'm good! Thanks!
Don't use gallery. Download quickpic from the marketplace, it's free and works a lot better.
Just wondering if there is a way to change the gallery app when you swipe the camera to the right? I have installed a different gallery app and when I'm in the camera and I swipe, I want my new gallery to open and not the stock one
You can't access the 3rd party app using the camera swipe gesture, because this photo viewer is integrated into the camera app itself.
The camera function is in the gallery app (not the otherway around, but same idea, really), so there is no good way to change to behavior.

Went to app manager tried to 'clear defaults' on the Gallery app, that was grey'd out.
tried to freeze gallery with Link2sd, when i click the preview from camera, it throws an error msg.
i can't take the dim images of the stock gallery app, quickpic is so much faster.
any ideas?
i am rooted.
it's greyed out because gallery isn't set as default for anything.
it's hardcoded into the camera app that it should use the gallery app in preview mode.
the only way to get around this is by using a 3rd party camera app, but loading previews will be slower.

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
thanks for the reply,
surprising there is no way around this.
On the d802 with cm13 using nano gapps, I want to set QuickPic as the default gallery app, when I go into file manager and click an image I took with the camera it's set to QuickPic and same with other images but in camera when I click the photo I just took in the bottom right it comes in the default.
How do I make images I just took come up in QuickPic instead of default gallery?
