I have a problem wit the bleutooth reconnect with mmy car-kit (VW-RSAP)
Everything works fine, and connection works.
But:
if i get into the car, start it, the connection isn't comming up. What i have to do, is hit the top on/off button, and there it is... the connection is being established. If i'm getting out, shutdown the car, the phone is only trying once to reconnect to the network, and gives a antenna with !-mark. Then i have to go to comm-maneger, en shutdown phone, and reconnect phone.. Than everything is fine..
It looks like the phone is in a too deep sleep to accept the bleutooth connection.
Anyone having this problem, and knowing a work around?
Well I've got also a lot of trouble with my Audi rSAP adapter (Paragon) and the MMI: (Hmm, I'm not allowed to post outgoing links as a new member although I just wanted to post a link to my "SAP connection problem" thread showthread.php?t=720724)
Which profile is used if your HD Mini and the rSAP can establish a working connection? Is it SIM Access Profile or is it a Hands-free connection?
From Audi I learned that not only the rSAP-adapter has a built-in bluetooth interface but the MMI has another one (which is automatically deactivated when the rSAP cradle is installed)!
So when I removed my rSAP cradle, the MMI activated it's own bluetooth interface which can be connected from the HD Mini with Hands-free profile (needed to switch of the car and restart again - just like Windows :->).
The main difference to the Hands-free connection of the rSAP-adapter is that the MMI is able to read out the contacts stored on my HD Mini while the rSAP adapter cannot (in Hands-free mode).
So this is currently the only working option for me until I'll get the SAP connection working (HTC has received some logs from the BT-Handshaking so hopefully they can dig something out).
Cheers, Alf.

In my car I've the Pioneer 9880BT (with bluetooth support). I can connect with the radio without any problem, but I saw a lot of limitations. I can't transfer my contacts to the radio. It freezes in the receiving contacts screen and then the bluetooth disconnects. Another thing is that after connecting, the only thing in the display that appears is that the hermes is connected. It don't display signal strength, battery power and other things that I saw after connecting a friend's basic cellphone from Nokia or Motorola.
Is there a way to solve these problems?
Thanks
Try installing Jetwaremobile on the phone, that extends the bluetooth capabilities.
http://www.jetwaremobile.com/
Thanks, I'll try it
It worked, thanks a lot
I have only one problem now, i still can't send my contacts.
Sending contacts have now worked, but there is another problem. I can't send more than 7 contacts a time. Hermes displays that has sent all the contacts (it sends very fast), but in the radio it freezes after sending 6/7 contacts. Closing the sending window in hermes, the radio displays contacts sent. Maybe the sending is too fast?
Thanks.
I was wondering iif you were able to get the pioneer to automatically detect the phone? I have a tytn and the P980BT and everything works great except for the contacts and the fact that I have to manually establish a connection with the phone.
Now it's eveything ok, I've installed Jetware 1.2 beta version. Now I've transfered all the contacts (273) without any problem.
The connection is automatic only when the bluetooth is active. If you turn the radio off (and in your car the radio is turned off after turning the car off) then you need to connect manually after turning the radio on.
If you can turn the radio on even with the car off, then the bluetooth will stay active even turning the radio off (you will see the bt light on), and after returning to the car, the bt will connect automatically. It won't connect only if you turn off and take the face off. Then you need to connect manually again.
interresting
So you work around is to keep the deck powered at all times and manually shutoff when you leave the car. Can you remove the faceplate and still have it work?

Using the Touch HD with a builtin bluetooth car kit. Everything works fine, the phone's contact list displays on the screen of the car. The pairing went fine. Call history works. Happy me. But occasionally i notice after making a call via the car (after hangup) the connection disappears and i check the phone. Bluetooth is switched off!!! How can this be? Are there any settings i have missed?
Any other users experience this?
same here with my bt handsfree
what if you connect it to powersupply ?
with power : working
without power : after some minutes off
sometimes I can not access the contactlist, stop the car, remove the key, start again and it works
There is something wrong with BT + car
I've had my HD a couple of days and use it with the built in BT in my Audi. The car displayed "telephone is not connected" and when I checked the phone, no BT icon. I've had problems in the past with other makes not working very well like this and was thinking it was going to be the same here... As I was getting annoyed a call came in, rang for about half a ring on the phone then it reconnected to the car and continued ringing there, answered the call just fine.
Since then it's done the same thing twice, I'd prefer it didn't but it hasn't actually caused a problem yet.
BT shuts off by itself.
I seem to be having the same problem in my Audi Q7. It does not make a difference weather to be connected to a power supply or not.
Im having the same issue here, in my A4 Cab with integrated UHV 0420
Strange thing is, it doesnt disconnect from my works Parrott kit.
It does turn off the Bluetooth on the phone, strange. It didnt happen for the first week though.
Any ideas?

same here. having problems with my Land Rover LR2. first week, there were no problems. now, the phone doesn't automatically connect when i start the car, i have t manually connect it by pressing the phone button on my dashboard. it then connects with no problem. however, when i try to place a call, it automatically disconnects the bluetooth.
not sure if this is a problem with the htc or my car; i have to try another phone with the car first.
Same happens in my Lamboughini and also my Mercedes- Benz E Class.
Looks like I'll just have to stick with my roller from now on!!!!
I see I'm not the only one with this problem. Soooo...... anyone got a fix?
Please, at least have you checked for a few seconds after the disconnect to see what happened ??
Well, I have a BMW S1 with in-car bluetooth. I previously owned an S200, SE K800i and a Touch Pro and never got any problems with those phones.
With HD Touch I also have the same problems like you people, but 2 or 3 seconds later the BMW regain the connection with my HD.
So, for me this is no big deal. If this only happens to me, then I'm the first to apologize my introduction on this post, if not... lol
Im sure its not related, but I installed the hotfix for the TF3d earlier and I didnt have any disconnects on the way home....... ????? Go HTC.....

yesterday i installed the hotfix from htc, but today i lost bluetooth connection again in the car. The bluetooth in the car keeps functioning, but the bluetooth on the HD has deactivated itself! With my previous sony ericsson phone (also bluetoot 2.0) i didn't have this problem. So i think it's related to the bluetoothsoftware on the HD.

Have a look at this thread - also bluetooth problems with pairing issues - looks like BT maybe bugged
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442987&highlight=bluetooth+problems
Hello,
I have the same problem. I can not really use bluetooth in my car, because the Touch HD ends the connection after a few minutes (most times after less than five minutes).
Without a connection to the car, bluetooth will not be ended by the Touch HD, so it seems to be a problem of a connection to a bluetooth headset or a problem of a connection only to a car bluetooth "headset".
Regards
Thomas
Does this only apply to original built-in bluetooth kits and not after-market kits?
My BT-radio does not have problems with the Touch HD, but it is an after-market radio.
Same problem here. My connections drops also. I drive an Opel Zafira with builtin bluetooth carkit. Bluetooth is turned off after a while.
I've noticed when i start the car a connection is made and a few seconds later bluetooth is turned off and immediatly turned on again. After it's turned on, the connection is stable for a while. A few moments later it turns off again. Then i have turn the bluetooth connection manually.
Today i had a phone confercation for a half hour. The connection stayed stable. When i hang up the phone, the connection dropped .
Can the synchronisation of the phonebook be the problem? I had this problem with my p3600. After installing Jetware, the problem was solved. I've installed Jetware on my HD, but with no luck .
Is there a way to log the bluetooth communication. May be it tell us more
Indeed the HD bluetooth seems to be poor, I also experienced bluetooth switching off by it self when trying to pair with my Motorola S9 headphones, I have the hotfix installed, before I didn't notice this bluetooth behavior.
Also when exiting Opera the phone hangs, not always but sometimes
Anyone solved the problem yet
I send a email to HTC support. Hopefully they can help. If they answer......word goes arround that htc support sucks
still don't have a solution.........
I have the following problem when connecting the HD2 with bluetooth to my car stereo:
The car stereo is capable of BT-phone (Hands-free) as well as BT-audio (Stereo Audio) connection. The connections are made automatically (connections are set and authorized) indicated with two different symbols indicating each connection.
The following occurs:
A. When connecting the HD2 for the FIRST time to this stereo, both BT-phone and BT-audio do connect automatically. This can be monitored by the two symbols on the car stereo, and also in the bluetooth connection monitor on HD2.. both Stereo Audio and Hands-free are connected, indicated by the green arrows.
B. When connecting the HD2 again (so anytime but first time), ONLY BT-phone does connect automatically!
The BT-audio connection I can connect when I need to, but this can be done only manually in the bluetooth settings on the HD2 by ticking the Stereo Audio entry.
In case B it makes no change if I check or uncheck the "Connect seperately to Bluetooth hands-free and stereo audio services" checkbox in the connection properties on the HD2. Makes no difference.
Also, a normal stereo bluetooth headset connects both BT-phone and BT-audio at all times,
So for the car I would like to also have Stereo Audio connect automatically too (like Hands-free). For the HD2 I have tried several ROMs and several soft/hard resets to make sure it is a problem which always occurs..
Why does the car stereo only connect both services the first time the connection is made, and afterwards only the phone handsfree service?

i have exactly the same problem! any suggestions on this would be appreciated

using fiscon mobile.
at the same time i have quality issues (no bass or low sampling rate). but i guess this is a fiscon problem? it was the same with my previous i-phone.
Audio quality is fine here. Is the connection issue a Windows Mobile bug?

on a fiscon? are you using a fiscon as well?
I don't know if this is helpful, however I have an IO Play system in my car and it connects automatically everytime for both handsfree and audio streaming.
Works fine for me with my Lidl (!) Silvercrest car stereo. But for me the HD2 has to be playing audio/music for the Bluetooth streaming to work.
FYI - my car stereo is an Eclipse 3200
Have the same issue with A2DP Bluetooth headphones/handsfree.
While the device recognised it as Bluetooth stereo and handsfree and on a first connection both connections are active in device profile, on any other connections only handsfree connects authomatically. And I need to mannually connect stereo in Bluetooth manager :/
Same here :S
Every time i connect my Nokia BT Headphones " Hands free" connects automatically and "Stereo audio" not
I also have exactly the same problem. only BT-Phone connects, not BT-Audio.
I have a Sony headunit. Seen as I guess we all have different headunits in our cars, it must be an issue with the HD2 not the stereo.

I have a Sony car stereo.
Same here except in my case I have a cheapy Tevion (Aldi) headunit. This is a real pain in the neck if you stop and turn off the engine of the car because then I have to reconnect BT Audio again
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this also happens with A2DP stereo headsets with combined audio+HF.. Don't know why though..
Had this problem with my HTC Diamond, and now with my HD2.. Search for "A2DP Toggle"..
It defintiely happens with some A2DP headsets - I have a Sony headset and it happens on that. You have to manually connect A2DP profile each time.
We need an A2DP toggle for the HD2 Widcomm stack ...

I have a Sony headset which connects both BT Audio and BT Phone together, and a Sony Car stereo which connects only BT Phone.
I have the exact same issue with my JVC car head unit, should be able to connect to use as hands-free and stream music, but neither will retain a connection. I can't connect and pair the devices with the '000' (or whatever I choose) BT pairing code. My previous mobile worked perfectly and auto-connected as it should every time.
I submitted it as a support request on HTC (UK) site, here is my response:
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Bluetooth accessory you have mentioned may not be fully compatible with the HTC handset so may have limited features to be used with the device. For example you maybe able to pair it but other faults may occur. Please keep an eye on our website for any future updates such as Bluetooth patches and ROM upgrades. We cannot confirm if and when these may or may not become available.
As a test, you maybe able to delete all Bluetooth partnerships/devices from your handset and start the pairing process again.
Is it working now?
As an alternative solution please see compatible and recommended Bluetooth accessories in the Buy section of our website below:
(Link to 'HD2 Bluetooth Accessories' page of their website)
Please let us know how you get on and we will assist you further if and when required as a matter of urgency.
Best regards,
Mat

Not the response I wanted, and when I have followed up on this reply I got the same copy/pasted text response! Upon following up on that reply I think they gave up on me as I haven't got a reply this time!
Basically, they want me to go out and spend another couple of hundred £ on more equipment to achieve my hands-free (without an earpiece) requirement, even though I already have the equipment but can't make it connect!!

HTC is getting better and better at standard responses. However there are also helpful and knowledgeable people on the other side of the communication line.
Approved bluetooth says nothing, as if they will try to test every bluetooth device in the world, even sold prior to the birth of the HD2... right.
However the problem is perhaps more WinMo related and not only HD2. But I have only the HD2 to test with..
AND WHILE WRITING... I see that also sony stereo headset is connected as BT Phone... guess we need a small tool to connect bluetooth easily.
I think its a combination of the software in the Bluetooth device and the host. My Sony headset would also require manual A2DP connection with my previous phone - an Eten. As others have posted here other Sony headsets will pair with the HD2 automatically for A2DP.

I can also confirm this "bug". Can't get my A2DP device (BCK-08) to connect (itself) as BT Stereo. Everytime reconnects automatically in HF mode. That really sucks.

Hi, I connect my Diamond to car with bluetooth and work fine, but when i reconnect it, phone ask me every time pin code to pairing.
I thought this:
After pairing i must create a outgoing bluetooth port. But I'm not able to create it.
Maybe it's because I have last wm 6.5.3 (build 23518)
I dont have any other bluetooth device to try to connect and so i'm not sure if the problem is in the phone or in the car.
I ask You because it's frustrating connect, connect, connect and reconnct.
Thx to all.
I just got a TMOUS HD2 and had the same problems a lot of other people are having connecting it to my car. It connects to the car correctly, downloads the address book, but no sound comes through the cars speakers and the call doesn't register on the cars phone display. I searched XDA and there seems to be a bunch of registry change posts that don't seem to work all the time and disable some features. By doing the following I get it to work consistently with all the features enabled.
1) Turn off the data connection and Bluetooth in Comm Mgr
2) Turn on Bluetooth and connect (or pair) the phone with the car
3) Make a call
4) While in the call, turn the data connection back on
It works for my Land Rover RRS and stays working until I reset the phone. After I reset, I just go through the above procedure again.
I don't know if it works for every car make but it should work for most Volvos, Jaguars, and Land Rovers since most of them use common bluetooth systems.
Hope this helps somebody.
I am having the same issue. I have to manually connect the music stream. The phone stream always connects. Hoping for a fix from T-Mobile.

My car doesn't support A2DP - the phone's separate from the audio head. All the car's phone features work though - voice recognition, conference calling, transfer to and from the handset, and address book and digit dial. I wouldn't hold my breath for a fix though. It's the WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack that HTC started using with the TP2 so there are over a year's worth of complaints logged with HTC and no sign of a fix.
well, not much to be said for the Microsoft bluetooth stack either. I have a 2010 LR4 and can't get my HTC Raphael/Touch Pro/Fuze to keep a connection. Hard to know what the problem is, starting a WiFi or GPS session often resets the connection, in addition to the random drops, sometimes mid-call.
When I tried an iPhone though, it worked fine, naturally.
