This is probably true. I went to a Croma today (at Mumbai), they were out of stock and they would not comment on when and if new stocks would arrive. They didn't actually say that it's been discontinued, however even the display piece has been removed.
I enquired at our local TheMobileStore & they said that production had stopped & no further stock was expected.
Why would it be phased out to make way for the Nexus S. I thought the nexus was Manufactured by Samsung for Google so they don't actually sell it it's google phone to sell. It could just be though that in India the market appears to be moving over to purchasing the Nexus so its pointless selling the Galaxy there?
i bought mine on dec 15th 2010 . Guess i am one of the last set of lucky owners
Bought in HYDERABAD
But ya in many stores it was not there finally found it in PCH mobiles
thank goodness! I bought a bit earlier (july).. else i wouldn't have come to know about the gorgeousness of super amoled and computing power of hummingbird + powervr

It will be 'obsolete' in 3-6 months once the dual-core phones hit the market. Hehe. I think LG is planning a launch anytime now, Samsung et al will certainly follow.

lol, 2 years. I would bet money for the fact they'll never bring froyo to the x10. SE is best example for how you can make good hardware underperforming at its maximum.

Performing at its minimum, under-performing at its maximum mean the same, That's what my grammar teacher taught me.
Per CNET blog:
excerpt -
"...and now a press conference on May 5, co-hosted by AT&T and Samsung.
The two companies just sent out invites to the event, which will take place in New York starting at 1 p.m, PT, but revealed few details about what they will discuss. The invite does indicate that there will be product demos, so it's pretty safe to assume that we'll see a new phone or perhaps a tablet?
There are a couple of possibilities. It could be the Samsung Galaxy S II, which was announced at Mobile World Congress 2011, but our Android Atlas blogger Scott Webster believes it will be AT&T's version of the Nexus S..."

Infuse 4G, nexus s?
It's probably for that 4.5" Samsung phone (Infuse 4G). It has a Super AMOLED Plus display, but isn't dual core...
Wish it's GS2, I feel Infuse will not be a popular device.

Yes, I noticed that later. When I went to post originally, a list of "similar" posts came up and I reviewed it . None appeared to be the same (but the site was running very slowly so my patience was thin). So I posted.
I don't know if you are available, but I have a posting police job that you would be perfect for. It doesn't pay anything, but you get a badge. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks.

hmmm... but there is no word about SGS +, hopefully, that due to the low popularity of the model ...

News is about "Galaxy line". SGS+ is this line, isn't it?
I saw a post said Samsung's Single-Core's products will not upgrade to ICS, which means Galaxy S+ will not have official ICS ROM.

You should seriously know why I (and some others) asked where the good news are. So of course the SGS+ is "Galaxy line", but the text explicitly enumerates the ics-upgradeable devices out of the "Galaxy line" - so I would not read something into it, what is not stated.
Damnit! I hate these kinda topics.
I have contacted Samsung itself. I'll post the reply here when it comes (If it'll even come )

No but I don't want to be stuck on Gingerbread for the next two years, and it seems that the developement for this phone is very poor, so thats why I'm thinking about buying a SGSII
If they let the Galaxy S+ die, I will never buy an Samsung phone again.
I'm fed up with Android slowly, having had an Desire (R.I.P.) before.
Now I realize why people buy Apple stuff.

EDIT: Don't babble about apple here lol. If you have so much money to buy apple products, why not buy galaxy note and enjoy everything you can think of.
In Holland, samsung confirmed there will be NO update to ics for our phone... But that's only for Holland, I don't know about other countries.

+1 just stupid tactics i agree 100%
old apple fan left my old 3gs to get this......
Samsung has sold over 1 million units of Galaxy Note since its launch in late October. Company has confirmed that the device will be available in United States early next year......
http://mirolta.com/2011/12/29/samsung-sold-over-one-million-units-of-galaxy-note-in-2-months/
*That phone is too huge!*
*Nobody will buy that brick.*
*You look stupid if you answer a call with that.*
*Is that made for a giant?*
Proceeds to sell millions in Asia and Europe.
*snort*
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416888
why people just dont stfu
Its allways the same:
i remember my beloved HTC Universal, it was not that small device and people laughed at me. The same way they did on my Dell Streak. Now i use the SGN ans people stop laughing because their see, that Smartphones getting bigger because of their screen sizes... And everybody who held an big screen device in his hand and sticked with it will never go back...
Dell made a first step and Samsung did a big screen device even better. Thumb up for that
No-one should be surprised at the early success of the Note, for in my opinion it is the best smart phone ever made. I am especially pleased that Samsung has said the sales are particularly strong in Germany after Apple's spoiling tactics there with the Galaxy Tab 10.1 injunctions. It's time Apple started to compete by producing better phones instead of taking competitors to court.

This is awesome! I'm glad I decided to pick one up now instead of waiting for the US version to show up. I got sick of my Iphones and my Infuse just didn't have a big enough screen. In my opinion as well the Galaxy Note is the best smartphone on the market to date. <3 Samsung <3

LOL! I know what you mean! I never really liked the form factor of any of the nexus series phones. But thats just me. I do however really LOOOOVE the design of the Galaxy S series ( captivate, infuse, sgs2 and Note) I already played with the Samsung media player at Best Buy which is exactly the same form factor as the Note with the exception of the pen, and immediately thought to myself, this can definitely work for me.
Im hoping the note is 199 on upgrade, and not 250 though!
Perfect, just in time for my upgrade.
Eh, I'll wait for something else or the SGSIII.
