Urgently need to revert to stock HSPL - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM Development

Guys,
Help me out ASAP please.
I have an HD2 which screen isn't working and need to give for repair.
The problem is I already flashed Energy ROM and now I need to revert back to stock ROM.
I have reflashed my drive to shipped ROM, but when I go to the boot loader (Vol down power) I get the following:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-1.42.HSPL XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
I don't think that is the stock HSPL, or whatever its name is. How do I get my device back to stock situation??? I must give the device tomorrow for repair so I really don't have any time. Have to do it ASAP.
Thanks

Check the link above, and read.

run hspl2 and choose 1.42.0000

That's odd, coz when you flash a stock ROM via SD-Card it practically overwrites everything in the cellphone (including SPL, Radio, bootscreen) to stock values..
Anyway in case you flashed the stock ROM using the customruu utility, just launch hspl3 again---> select SPL 1.42.0000 from the drop down list----> flash that and you should be good to go.

I think you forgot to flash Radio ROM - look into thread of the ROM you flashed, there must be info about radios which are "approved"
thing is i dont know which rom is flashed right now and ive no idea about the radio also.

First of all - if you want to do something - read first and gather some info, otherwise you'll have problems.
And if the problem really is with radio, then try THIS first, it should help
just flash a high version radio, which should work regardless of what rom is there.
2.12.50.x or 2.10.50, one of them.
I am flashing the radio from sd and it says
00018003
LEOIMG.nhb - FAIL
Radio - Fail
Update Terminate
Update fail
i am no expert but perhaps try following this method picking a rom you like and also an exceptable radio. good luck
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6933055&postcount=14111
try flashing a different rom and see what happens

oh right its been back to service and got refused,
run hspl2,
choose a stock spl (so 1.66.0000 for a normal hd2 or hspl3 and choose 2.08.0000 for a tmous phone,) and send it back again.
hspl wont change the version =(
oh, well all i can suggest then is you try hspl2, ever option, and hspl3, every option, , maybe one of them can trigger the spl to change.
wont work =(

Return HD2 Back to Stock

My touch screen decided to take a crap on me. Tmobile is sending me a replacement in the mail which should be here in about 5-7 days.
I just need some help returning the phone back to stock. I already removed ChunkyRom using Task29. Then booted the phone to the bootloader to flash the updated Tmobile rom. Now when I boot this is what the screen shows.
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-2.08 HSPL 8g XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x40
My dad has the same phone (completely stock) and this is what his shows:
pb8 ss-b3
spl-2.10.0000 8g xe
microP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(Touch) 0x40
So I am not sure. I just dont want tmobile to charge my account. Thank you for the advice. I tried to follow some of the posts already on this amazing forum but I wasnt having any luck. I promise I tried to search!
Yeh I am having the same exact problem...My screen just stopped working out of no where and now I need to revert back to original rom radio and hspl...anyone got a link or instructions?

Download your official stock rom. Extract it to get the nbh file. Rename that nbh to LEOIMG.nbh. Copy it to your SDcard, and flash in bootload mode. This should reverse your HSPL back to spl

This is the part where I am confused. I renamed the file to LEOIMG.nbh but I dont have a clue how to flash it when I am in the bootloader mode.
you not seached for the million and 1 posts about how to return to stock???if its copied right, instead of boot loader it will have LEOIMG to install..search to do it right
Well I formatted my SD card to FAT32 and put the LEOIMG.nbn on the sim card. Boot the phone to the bootloader and it doesn't automatically go to the other screen that is needed to flash the phone.
This is all you have to do..
This is all you have to do:
1. Download HSPL3_PKG, don't ask where, google it!
2. Extract and run as if you were going to flash the HSPL, hit next on first screen, now you get a drop down list, select 2.08.0000 not 2.08.HSPL.
3. Run the program and tarraaaaa.
4. NOw just flash your stock rom the normal way and not from sd since it still didn't work for me after removing HSPL.

Yea I've mentioned this several times, that the tmous 3.14 doesn't seem to update the spl. Its not a problem because it will run happily on spl 2, unlike regular hd2 which will not run 3.14 on anything less than spl 3.03.

[Q] Removing HSPL?!

Hi all,
So my phone is now freezing and I called HTC up and they are going to fix my phone. I got 2.08.HSPL on my phone.
I have a TMOUS phone, and what I did was download the latest TMOUS ROM and extracted the RUU_signed and named it to leoimg. I tried flasing it, no luck there, I've read that SDHC cards are not supported.
So what I did was to download HSPL3.exe and on the dropdown I selected 2.08.0000 SPL
Does that mean that HSPL is fully gone and I can go ahead and send the phone for a repair?
I'm asking because after flashing it with 2.08.0000 SPL I got a message saying, "we hacked it !".
Thanks.

What you did should have you good to go. But to duoble check put your pphone into bootloader and see what SPL it shows you have in bootloader.
On the bootloader it says
PB81111 SS-B3

MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x050
Does that mean that HSPL is not there anymore?

Yep this means you no longer have HSPL on your HD2. If you did it would say.
SPL 2.08.0000 HSPL 8G XE
You would also see by Cottula in bootloader too ic you still had HSPL. so if you have flash the official ROM for you HD2 then you are back to stock and good to send it in for repairs.

I flashed TMOUS ROM (Downloaded from the actual TMOUS site), and I used HSPL3.exe to install 2.08.0000SPL (Because I had 2.08.HSPL by Cottula)
Now when I go to bootloader It says this
Code:
PB81111 SS-B3
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x050
So for sure I dont have HSPL installed and I'm clear to send it back?
I dont want to send it, then have to pay the $40 for them to send it back to me and lose my warranty.

Don't worry you are cool it is still a stock SPL. And the 2.08.0000 SPL is what was originaly on your phone. Sometimes the SPL does not get changed when flashing a official ROM because the SPL you have fits the requirements of the ROM.

would it help to install some different hspl / spl like 3/4 that u have linked? would those allow me to flash ROMs again? or how would i be able to do those? Thanks!
it will not only help, it is the only way, since your spl says 2.08.0000 which is stock meaning you DO NOT have hspl installed. Just because you used hspl program to set 2.08.0000, you have installed a stock spl, NOT hspl, so yes, use any hspl (2,3 or 4, doesnt really matter) to change your spl to 2.08.hspl.

[Q] is this stock htc hd2??

hey guys, i had (and still have) a non responding touchscreen on my htc hd2. I am now trying to get it back to stock to send it in, cause it still has warranty...
anyway, i downloaded winmob6.5 from the htc side, its a vodafone branding, so i downloaded the one where it says vodafone=) its a phone from germany.
I did task 29, and then installed the rom. (phone still had 2.08HSPL). afterwards i installed 2.08 SPL with hd2 toolkit.
The phone now reads:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MircoP(TOUCH) 0x50
in bootloader and:
R 2.15.50.14
G 15.42.50.11U
D 3.14.04666
when starting up.
my questions now are:
IS THIS ABLE TO BE SENT IN?
DO I HAVE TO CHANGE THE RADIO? IF SO,WHICH ONE?
ANYTHING I HAVE TO DO DIFFERENT TO MY WAY OF TRYING TO GET IT BACK TO STOCK??
help would be so much appreciated guys!
thanks in advance
(i posted this in the question and answer forum before, but no response, so im trying again here, cause i really dont wanna loose that phone for nothing...)
I think you have to change your SPL to either 3.03, 1.66 or anything other than 2.08.
Because as far as I know, that SPL you have is for T-mous only, having it on means you've "HSPL-ed" your device, and since your device is not a T-Mous .....
I'm not sure about the above, wait for someone more experienced to confirm.

+1 to what Marvlesz said, the SPL version needs to be 3.03. I think 1.66 is only stock for the older ROMs with .51 radios, but on ROM version 3.14 the correct SPL is definitely 3.03.
Aren't HSPLs replaced to stock ones (SPLs) when installed signed rom? For example stock HD2 has SPL 3.03. You install 2.08 HSPL After fun with Android you flash stock rom. All changes caused by flashing Android and HSPL are restored to defauld SPL 3.03 That's what I think and remember. Check that.
If not, then download http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966228 this and flash SPL 3.03

Yes, you are correct. But if you re-read his post, you'll notice that he said he had installed SPL using the NAND toolkit, which gave him (or he chose) SPL 2.08 (only for T-mous).
Whereas flashing his "original" stock ROM via sdcard would've definitely restored his device back to complete stock.
first of all: thanks guys!
@kubekpop i downloaded hspl4 from DFT and installed hspl 3.03.

What do you guys reckon? ready to be sent in? what about the radio - leave it?
@Marvlesz, I didnt install from SD because i dont have a touchscreen nomore. and i though installing the original RUU via MAGLDR doesnt make sence? so thats why i just plugged it in the pc and started it from there=)
cheers
Yep, that's fine now
But installation from SD doesn't need touchscreen. You just need nbh file (you can take it from temp files after running installer on PC - while it is still running search on drive C:/ [or other system partition] file ruu_signed.nbh And this should be in temp), formated SD without any partitions other than Fat32 (one). You rename ruu_SIGNED.nbh to leoimg.nbh and put it in SD. And via bootloader. But this what you have is enough
yeah nice, ill send it in on wednesday then.... Thanks again guys!
@kubekpop, well thats good to know, but if my phones is ready to be send in like this, ill just leave it that way=) thanks though!
