I just upgraded my AT&T account from a Blackberry bold to the Aria online. I just got the phone in today and for some reason, I cant hear anything when I make or receive a call unless I put it on speaker. I have tried everything myself, made sure call volume is up, hard reset, master reset. Nothing has worked. I have to put every call on speakerphone just to make it usable. I called AT&T and they said I could go to the store tomorrow for a replacement, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar problem or knew of a quick fix to save me a trip. Thanks!
SOLVED
Just an updated for anyone who come across this issue. I took the phone to an AT&T store and they swapped it out for me in about 10 minutes. New phone works flawlessly so it was definitely a manufacturing defect. Just rooted and flashed liberated ROM. Couldn't be happier!

I just bought my xv6900 2 days ago and i noticed that each time my phone goes idle as it goes to sleep and when someone text messages me i dont get a notification until i turn on the phone again with the button on top of the phone. and also sometimes i dont receive a call and when i next turn back on my phone it says missed call..
does anyone perhaps have the same problem or know whats wrong with my phone?
I have had the same problem and can't figure it out. I've done a hard reset and that fixes it for a bit, but no long term solution.
I have the following Software Installed:
SPB Mobile Shell
VIP Ringtone Manager
Shubaroo Group SMS

i have yet to install any other apps that didnt come with the phone. and i read that forum link u gave me, it doesnt seem to be my battery because i know my battery was at 80% when this happend. its such a nice phone but this really pisses me off. wish there was a solution.
I am having the same issue. I called verzion and they know nothing about it. Everyone who has this please call. I really like this phone but if it doesnt work like a phone its useless.
I've seen same problem on a Sprint Touch so it's not specific to Verizon.
I had 2 Sprint Touch phones side by side and one would not wake up from suspend for an incoming text or phone call. The second Touch worked properly and they had the exact same configuration. No clue why some of the HTC Vogue's have this issue and others don't.
I would call Verizon and ask for a swap if they ignore your problem.
Well I did a hard reset and it worked great for few days! Now back to normal.. looks like it is going back to verizon. Not sure what to get though.
Got the same problem but some days it works fine and some days it doesnt. I througth i had to much stuff saved or downloaded on the phone but when i removed programs that i downloaded that i never used it didnt fix anything so im puzzled like everyone else here.
same issue
I have had mine for several months now, i just had to do a hard reset recently and my phone has done the same exact thing ever since. I thought maybe it was a problem with polling. I did notice this time I hard reset, verizon did not have me set my A key, instead they changed something on their side and had me do a 228 reprogram. So i wonder if something is being changed via this new method ( the guy told me he just figured out he could do it this way and not require me to set my akey ).
I have had my X since the 16th and have had this problem happen twice now. The phone will only vibrate when you get an incoming call. All the other notification sounds still work and if I go into my list of ringtones they will play there when I select one, but not when I get an incoming call. I went to a V store and they call tech support who ended up putting my through to Motorola tech support, when I got to a lvl 2 support person I was told that this is a known issue with the phone and that the only "fix" is a factory reset. I tried to explain to the support person that having to do a factory rest isn't a real fix, but he didn't seem to care, just read from his script. The person told me that once you reset it it wont do it again, but mine has. I now have a new phone on the way, but the downside is it will take a week for me to get it. Just a heads up if it happens to you, try and get it replaced because the "fix" doesn't work.
This is a bug on the phone I believe. My friend had the same thing happen to his. Did you by any chance turn on smart profile?
This is currently happening with my X.
Don't have the "Smart profile: Face down" enabled. Doesn't seem to work either way. (Or "Phone vibrate" for that matter)
It worked fine for a while, but seems to have recently just gone to vibrate-only somehow.
Been happening to me for a little over a week. was hoping for a froyo update before I hard reset, but no luck.

On my way to work i gotta call, went to answer but no sound in speaker. Hung up & called them back no ring,no sounds at all. Person i called received the call answered & heard nothing. With friend standing next to me called em & again rang on there phone not mine, call went through no sound on or from my end. Both phones stayed on call till end was pressed on one of the phones so calls goin through. So am i screwed hardware wise or has anyone had this?
PS using friends xda.just wanna know if Iam screwed.

I think you should go to Verizon about this one. If it's within a year of your purchase you should get a new one for free under the warranty
Did you flash or install anything recently? Did you try rebooting it? I had a similar problem with my X. After I rebooted, the problem went away. If it still doesn't work, I would go have Verizon check it out.
Update.: rebooted 3 times pulled batt, rebooted & now its fine. Don't know wth happened. Confusing iam getn close to the year mark

Hey all,
I recently bought an (AT&T) LG G2 off eBay, as my iPhone 5S just wasn't cutting it for me.
The day before it came I went into AT&T and asked for a new nano-SIM, it was given to me with no questions asked. The next day, I got it, put the SIM card in, and called to activate it. Everything went fine with customer service, and it activated with no problem, or so I thought.
Everything was looking good, and before I got off the phone with AT&T, I rebooted just to be positive. Once it was back on, I realized in the status bar in the top left it said "Roaming Indicator Off". I told the rep, and he said that was very weird, so we began troubleshooting. Around a half an hour into this, I received a text, I went to go respond to it and when I pressed send it said "No USIM Card". I told him about this as well, so we began troubleshooting both issues.
After about an hour he bumped me up to Android technical support, where I painfully continued with troubleshooting. During all of this I accidentally tried to make a call, and voila, it all went away. The status bar now said "AT&T" and I was able to send texts just fine. I told him about it and just said "That's weird, but awesome!". I rebooted the phone one more time just to make sure, and what do you know, it did it again. The same message came up in my status bar, as well as the inability to send texts.
There was a lot of things tried to fix it, including a master reset, the manual configuration of APN's, and a different text message center address. Trust me when I say, we've done just about everything possible. In fact, the next day he called me back with an LG rep on the line, they too couldn't figure it out.
At first they thought it was a hardware problem, but since making one phone call after a reboot fixes everything, they're leaning toward software. However, there was nothing else they could do.
I guess it isn't really that big of a deal, considering I can just make a call everytime I restart my phone. But I'd really like to get rid of the problem completely.
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer!

You never fixed it? Are you still using your G2, and does it still occur?

what a relief its easily fixable.
Haven't had a lot of luck with questions here for the last little while, but maybe someone has an idea as to why this would happen. My wife tried to call me 6 times yesterday. Not a single call came through or registered on my S7 Edge. She said all calls immediately went through to voice mail. When she got home, she stood right beside me and tried again and again, I was not notified of the call and it went right through to voice mail.
The phone had recently been rebooted. DND was not on. All sounds were on. The phone is not rooted and no apps like Greenify or anything like that running. After her last unsuccessful call to me, standing right beside me, I called her and it went through without an issue. She then tried to call me back and it worked. A minute or so later I received notification of her 2 voice mail messages from her previous calls. It's like the phone was in an extreme deep sleep. Which is pretty annoying considering I use the phone as a phone and I need calls to come through when they are made.
I took the phone into my carrier and they gave me a new sim card to try. I didn't have any issues with the previous sim card other than the issue from time to time of the first call I place being dropped and then the second call going through without issue. The signal is not fantastic in our condo, but I've never had someone tell me they have tried to call me and simply gone to vm before, so I don't know of any time of this happening previously. My wife had never had problems calling me before at all.
Anyone know what might have caused this?
No answers to this post,. Guess no one knows. Just another bizarre Samsung issue. Had it happen again today. My wife had to send me a Whatsapp message saying she couldn't call me. She said she called over and over again. No voice mail, no nothing. Never rang on my end or registered a call at all. Phone just didn't work until I called her and then she called me back and it worked. So sick of this thing working when it feels like it. Checked signal Not great, but no better than her signal and she never has any issues. She said she would call, it would just drop. No ringing, no voice mail, no nothing. Just call and then drop sound. Over and over again. Good thing this phone is only a $1000 device. Works great.
I don't have a solution for your problem, but had a similar issue when phoning my wife. It would ring on my side, but not on her side, then goes to voicemail. 2nd or 3rd time the call would go through to her to answer. Her phone wouldn't show any of the other calls. She was with a specific service provider and I moved her over to my provider. That is when the problems started as she was ported over to my provider. In the end it was on the provider's side where the problem was. They made some changes on her number profile and she could receive all calls and not random ones. Don't know the technical side of what the provider did, but they did admit they created her "call profile" incorrectly. Perhaps it's the same with you, that there is a setup on your profile that is not correct.
Thanks for the post, but I have contacted my provider. We use the same provider. Same settings. They reset everything for my phone and I reset everything on my end too. Still no solution. She does not have the same issues. Same phone. Same provider. Just sucks when you don't know if someone is trying to call you or not and if the phone actually works or not. I just want a phone that works all the time without having to worry about it. At the end of the day, that's all this is....a phone. If people can't call, well, that's an issue. I'm currently looking for work so it's even more important now than it's ever been.
Sorry to hear that you went the route of the provider and still no resolution. Maybe someone else can give light on the subject...
