Tampa isn't Central Florida, but I'm glad to see Orlando on the list! We really need speed boost here in Orlando! I just hope that "Later this year" isn't like December or something...

If orlando is even slated for 4G this year I am getting the Evo right away!!!

Oh boy! Now I can stream real-time video of me hugging Mickey Mouse in 720p next time I go to Orlando!

What is the realistic range when they say a certain city is getting it?
How far out of the city...

Maybe orlando, West Palm and the surrounding areas will get it soon then.

LA is getting it but i hope they get all of LA County

I'm glad to see Daytona and Orlando getting 4G. If I'm not in one city I'm in the other.

When I purchased my EVO I was told by the sales guy that San Diego is slated to get 4G in December even though it isn't announced yet. Of course this could be total BS.

I'm in Miramar, FL and there have been reports of 4G all around town.
In November there is a Sprint 4G 'event' at the Hard Rock Hotel.

I recently saw a posted notice for a permit application to install a 4g tower at oceanside blvd and pch for Clearwire. I'm assuming Sprint customers would have access to Clear towers as Sprint is a major shareholder and the company was started by the guy who started Nextel, so there is definitely some corporate incest going on here. Go to clear.com for more info on their plans for expansion for more insight. My guess is within a year or so do

I live and work in central Orange County (CA) and I haven't found many places around here where I can't get a 4G signal. I don't leave 4G on by default, though, because the signal is still inconsistent enough to have a negative impact on my battery life. That, and the 3G network is fast enough for my typical data use.
But it sure is nice to have 4G when I need it.

Well, no 4g in imperial beach. Of course I wasn't expecting it...

To bad 4G cant reach to southern OC, only to Irvine isnt far enough.
I havent heard it being announced for San Diego yet so its weird the sales rep would say that. Even check Clear's website, SD isnt listed as a future city.
Got to hope for the best tho

this is old news its only down there not up here, ive been to san jose, sunnyvale, palo alto with the 4g but its not up here up the north like tha town, the city, san leandro, hayward, union city, fremont all that....

Maybe 3 or 4 towers covering highway 87 from southside to around Taylor. Can wait till it gets to my house. I also see it coming down 280 to saratoga....

San Leandro
I've had 4G in parts of San Leandro near Bay Fair Bart, while on Hesperian toward E14th.
After haggling service with a Sprint rep the other day, they disclosed that San Leandro has two towers that are being set up and expected to be fully operational by October of 2010. - That probably means next year
Nevertheless, I can get a single bar of 4G in my bedroom and that gives me at least 4-5mb down and about 1.5mb up.

its still a crapshoot in northern KY, closer to the river or airport the better it seems, no signal at my house in independence, but I got a poor to weak signal at the Target in florence last night at work., but at least I know it works on my phone.

Keep in mind for the Cleveland network, we will be continually adding towers through April 2011. The coverage map on sprint.com will be updated every 15 days to reflect the changes

Still no love for detroit? Get it together sprint!

And I'm getting pretty good service on 4G up in Cleveland.

im suprised they didnt have 4G in L.A., Miami and DC.

We've had it here unofficially for a while, but it was always spotty. Although I've had a solid two bars of it from my house since they first started testing it out here.
Time to flash a Sense ROM and turn on the Wimax.

they have 4g in lubbock, tx. even wichita falls tx. but not my hometown denver

Weird. I was in DC end of Sept through mid October and 4g was up and running fine.

Dam I'm only 1 mile from a freakin spot of 4G that's in the wilderness park in south OC. Otherwise I would have to commute 10 miles to get more stable 4G, O well hope they build more towers soon for the rest of Orange county.

lubbock = texas tech.

Is it just me or I could care less. 4G is unusable IMHO. The battery drain isn't worth the extra bandwidth. T-Mo's HSDPA is the direction every wireless carrier should be looking at.

For about the last week or two service has been almost nonexistent when I use the phone at my house and it was because Sprint said they were updating their towers. I have lived in the same place for 6 years and have never had an issue like this. Has anyone in a 4G city noticed this happening shortly before it gets launched or am I just reading too much into it unfortunately?

I really, really, really need another way to run my battery down faster.

Sprint has said in repeated news releases that San Francisco will have 4g by the end of this year. In fact there are reports that much of San Francisco is already up on 4g.

My family's up in the east bay, so the BA is interesting to me... I live in the Santa Cruz area, however, so any news on that would be most welcome!

Emeryville has it and I believe Oakland does as well.

I was in the city last week and had it.

4g is suppose to go live on the 28th of this month. It will have a roll out effect so some people will have it before then, but the entire service will be live by the date. The source I'm providing talks about Denver, but in the article there is a date for the bay area

i wanna know when 4g is coming to phoenix az
it seems like they are already testing via the clear map

ive had it in santa clara ever since i got the epic in september. the tower is probably close to the san jose airport since i get more signal there
