I've read that that Motorola's messaging application for the Droid X provides a unified inbox for email, texts, and instant messaging, something that I miss from the palm pre. Can anyone confirm this? And if true, can we get it, or something similar, for the evo?
that would be really cool to have n very convenient

Hi guys,
just an idea, I don't know if any of you devs even like the idea or if it's possible, but here it is:
One app for all messaging, i.e. SMS/MMS/e-mail. Outlook Mobile already provides this, but it is possible to view only SMS/MMS or e-mail but not all of them together in one (per contact) thread and the app looks plain ugly . What I am talking about is a one-click access to ALL received messages, with contact based threaded view, finger friendly with possibilty to write messages from inside this app. So far I was not able to find something like this, they are always only for SMS or maybe sometimes e-mail, but there is no unified solution as far as I know
An ideal solution would be something like Resco contact manager but with possibility to have all types of messages per contact in one thread and the possibility to compose messages from that app.
Anyways that's it
Post your opinions/wishes/ or solutions maybe
Hey I know verizon supports enhanced messaging for over 160 characters and I've had many smartphones with Verizon and never had this problem but now with the fascinate it sends the sender an error message and me the preceeding mess. Was modified message. Why is this? Its really annoying
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Hmm, I'm not entirely sure.
This has been a "feature" of Verizon since the dawn of smartphones. It happened to me with the Moto Q9C, Moto Q9M, Blackberry 9630, HTC Incredible, and now my Fascinate.
The only work-around I've found is not using special extended characters, avoiding phone-specific smiley inserts, and making sure not to go over 160 characters (or if you do, get a messaging app like Handcent that will automatically break them up for you before sending).
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong area. But there's no Q and A section yet Nexus S.
But anyway I'm coming from the Evo 4g and I just received my Nexus S. I would like to send out a group text messages letting everyone know my new number.
So can someone please tell me how to send out group messages. It seems like I'm only able to send a text to individua people.
Thanks
You don't.
You either have to add each person individually, or you have to use another text application.
Score another one for "Pure Android".
download handcent. i prefer it over the stock messaging app.
you can add groups, send mass texts, among a crapload of other things.

handcent used to rock, but on my EVO it got super sluggish and major FC pretty often. I love the look of it, not because it copies the iPhone, but I have to admit, that style just works best, very easy to see and read.
+1 for Handcent. I also like it because I can use inverse or dark colors (black background, slightly less dark text).
I've seen this question pop up a lot, but I thought I would see if any Nexus 4 users are having a problem on 4.2.2.
I participate in a group SMS chat with 5 other people. Everyone is an iPhone user, except one person who is on a Blackberry. The text messages from the Blackberry user show up on my N4 as individual texts to me, not in the group message.
The only way I've gotten this working is by installed a 3rd party app called GO SMS Pro. Since installing that, the Blackberry user texts now show up in the group message on both applications (stock and 3rd party).
From everything I have read online about SMS and MMS, this would seem to be a problem with the Blackberry user's texts, and iPhone is just handling it better than Android.
I would really like for this to just work in the stock app. For now it is, but I don't like that it just magically started working after installing the 3rd party app.
Thoughts?
Greetings.
It seems that after some time the moto G7 just stops making sounds when I receive text messages. I have notice this problem with two of the phones I've had this also happened with My crappy Samsung J7. My Brother also has the G7 Plus and the G7 and has this same issue. We don't have any apps in common except the Default apps of course.
Edit: All phones/problems above have been happening on Verizon U.S. and We both are using the default text app. And both have used/use the android text web feature.
Any thoughts/suggestions?
