Just as the TP1 had, I'd like to see if anyone was able to successfully get a panoramic wallpaper setup on the TP2... Thanks...
I did use something a while back - Rotastrains Panorama I think. Needed a bit of fiddling/configuration I seem to remember. However, since I use latest CHT and this has panorama functionality for the home tab built in and (non-panorama) wallpaper for all other tabs if you want it.

Does anybody knows if exists a program that can actually make my diamond wallpaper or the s2u2 wallpaper to be in flash extension? There are thousands of beautiful clocks and animations I would like to have on my diamond screen.
i would suggest searching for Animated GIF's to use with S2u2. You will find a bunch of VGA animated gifs that work perfectly with s2u2. as far as your today screen, i personally think it would be way too much going on. i might reference you to the Panoramic TF3D2.1 options that are available. Good Luck
Flash
No. is not the same at all. In flash, you can have clocks, dates, even meteo. In gif... Thanks for you answer anyway.
Also wondering
I also would like something animated on my today screen with tf3d, is there a way to use animated gif's . I can use a gif now but the animations are missing. I been looking for a solution for this for years now. I own the alltel touch pro but previously had the ppc 6700. Never could get it to work. I did however install s2u2 , which is nice kinda like a screen saver which does show animated gif's (http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/04/02/s2u2-v100-screen-lock-application-for-pocketpc.html) ( wallpaper pack http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/04/29/s2u2-animated-wallpaper-pack-2.html) but so much would love to have a animated gif on today/home sccreen
animated gifs have BIG filesizes, and these will need to be stored in ram
not a good idea imho
for flash you would also need the flash player in ram
also big
also not good idea
your phone will run SOOOOOO slowly
(I think this has been asked before, but search doesn't always seem to turn up pertinent results, or turns up hundreds of barely related results.)
Has anyone developed anything to deliver an animated weather homescreen for TF3D/Manila 2.1 on the stock AT&T rom? I am not interested in flashing the rom (yet), and yeh I understand that overlaying the stock Manila files will take up more memory. That certainly couldn't take up more room that using SPB MS 3, which will only have the weather widget and not the true animated weather anyway.
I think this would be a big winner for a lot of T2 owners who can't or don't wanna flash. The animated weather homescreen seems to be the only real advantage to Sense from TF3D.
Hello. Long time lurker, first time poster.
So, I want to have my wallpaper of choice on only my home screen, and have the weather animated as well. I'm running Verizon's official 6.5 upgrade with, as I understand it, Sense 2.1 (I haven't been able to confirm that the way I could on the old ROM, though).
I made a cab of the wallpaper with the nearest I could find to the proper settings, which was TouchFLO v2.1 - No Compression - Home Tab. HDWall tells me that I need Co0kieMonster's Patch. I found it here: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=529730, though it definitely seems to be meant for the Blackstone, and not my Rhodium. Not able to find anything better, and not knowing my specific version of Sense, I tried a number of his cab's, starting with the Verizon specific one, and then running through all of his 2.1 variants. At the best, there was no noticeable change on my phone. At worst, the clock would only display white boxes with bits of black in them (and wouldn't flip up to show the text version), the Call History became 0 Missed Calls and my calendar appointments wouldn't show up on the home screen. Trying different settings for home screen only in HDWall either resulted in no change to my wallpaper, or the icon bar at the top being weirdly skinned or turning green (which makes sense, since I wasn't using the correct settings). HDWall works fine creating a wallpaper for all my tabs, but I don't want that.
So then, does anyone have a solution to suggest? I can't imagine I'm the first one to have tried to do this with this particular configuration. Any advice and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I believe this is what you are looking for: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511&highlight=hdwall
This has the patch included already.
If you want to change the wallpaper of the home screen without affecting other tabs then go to settings on TF3D and change the home wallpaper. Then install this cab, soft reset, and the animated weather will be on top of any custom wallpaper...

Gah! That was sooooo easy! It was just a cab! I'd put probably three hours into getting this to work, and there was a cab for it. Thank you so much!!
So now I have another question:
When I installed the cab, the top curtain on my home screen disappeared. I was thrilled about this, because I was going to get rid of it next anyway. As a result, though, the clock shifted upwards to fill the space (around 1/4"), but the weather animations didn't. In most cases this doesn't mean anything. However, when it's sunny and there's the lens flare, it comes from just below the sun instead of inside it. When icicles form on the clock, they're happening a quarter of an inch below the top edge of the clock, rather than on the top edge.
These are minor issues, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a fix. Thanks in advance...
I already have weather animation on mine. I didn't add anything. Is this stock T-Mobile 6.5/2.1?
Mine's the stock Verizon 6.5/2.1. My issue isn't that I don't have the weather animations (I do, both with the default wallpaper and, thanks to the above cab, with custom wallpapers as well), but that the clock on the homepage isn't where the phone thinks it should be, which results in the weather animations being misplaced a bit.

I don't think it will, no. The weather clock on the homescreen is limited to WinMo 6.5 and Sense UI, as far as I know, and this cab is for that.
Once your official ROM upgrade hits though, you should be able to use it, so maybe save it until then. It shouldn't be more than a month and a half before it's released.
(First, I'm trying to avoid HDwalls)
It has always bugged me that when you apply a wallpaper under Settings, that the wallpaper isn't as clear as if you were to view them in the "Picture" tab. In fact, the applied wallpaper is some what blurred at a lower quality.
Has anyone noticed this? Or is it just me because I can point out something you were not able to see.
try it yourself with some sharp jagged text as wallpaper. Then apply it to the lock screen as well.
You'll notice that the wallpaper on home screen is not as crisp and clear as the one on the lock screen.
Anyone know why?
you are right, I did notice this.
has it got something to do with the phone trying to squish the image into the right ratio instead of just cropping the image too fit?
not sure maybe some other members can offer their help?
See, you didn't even notice youself. And i think most people dont realize this as well.
Anyone got a fix?
rebump. rebump
Sense resizes the image to something smaller than 480x800 and then stretches it again (for some silly reason). It's a long-known problem - since the phone was first released. It's also one of the reasons that HDWall came about. The only alternative to HDWall I know is to install Co0kie's Home Tab. You can set wallpaper with that and it retains the original quality (as well as having a LOT of extra wallpaper options).
Try resizing or cropping the image to 480x800 then setting it as a background, that way the phone won't need to resize it for you.....

It still does it. The default way of setting wallpaper in Sense is just crap.

cookies wall doesnt work. never did.
home tab>menu>home wallpaper> etc...
that path doesnt work.
unless there is some other way...
resizing images dont work either.
I just also want to mention that Cookies Home tab 1.8 does improve the quality of the wallpaper over normal Sense BUT they are still reduced in quality and resolution somewhat so are still not full quality.
So for me - HDwalls is what i use - though i sometimes have trouble getting it to work properly.
Use SPB Mobile Shell. You will get mega sharp wallpapers (custom of course) and far better functionality than standard sense.
i have enabled auto rotation (HD2 Stock ROM 3.14, Manila 2018) but don't like my portrait wallpapers to look distorted in landscape mode. this is most annoying since even CHT 1.8.5 wont allow you setting of a landscape wallpaper - at least not for the lockscreen.
is there a tweak or an app to prevent the wallpaper from going into auto-rotation/landscape mode?
or any other way to get my lockscreen to display proper wallpapers in both portrait and landscape?
thanks in advance!
if you use HDWall have you tried making a CAB with both Portrait & Landscape wallpapers & see how that does? When I had my TP2 I did that & there was no distortion or anything in the landscape wallpapers

i am not a big fan of HDWall - it caused me a lot of trouble already. you sure it worked as a lockscreen (= windows wallpaper) as well? i remember this app being just for the Manila home screen and tabs... but i am not sure!?
isn't there a more subtle way using a reg tweak to stop the portrait wallpaper from rotating?
