Just wondering if anyone is experiencing any issues with the HTC messaging locking up the phone while texting and trying to rotate or letting the message sit idle for a few minues. The phone locks up and requires the batter to be removed or using the stylus to do a hard reset. Any thoughts, input or solutions would greatly be appreciated to this very annoying issue.

hello everyone, quick question
im looking for a locking program that will lock the screen when i press the power button (device goes into standby) and when it wakes up
the default locking program with WM is annoying because you can lock the phone BUT when u get an incoming call or text message, the screen becomes unlocked again and its easy to "answer" it accidently when its in your pocket. this is particularly annoying with text messages, because most of the time i wont even realize i have one and the phone will be awake for hours draining the battery and waiting to be pushed. anyways ive done several searches and come up with the following solutions, none of which work for me
1. S2U2, i dont like it, i tried it, wont use it again
2. SensorLock - An EXCELLENT locker, except it wont work on phones without Accelerometers...works wonderfully on the diamond tho
can anyone suggest something to me
First, set timeout for turning screen off autoamtically. This will solve SMS wakeup problem - screen will turn off automatically after some time.
Next thing, incoming calls - there is great Onyx ROM with Opal's slider - to answer a call, you need to slide your finger from center to left (or to right to ignore it). You can't answer accidentally using it
i appreciate your suggestions but neither works for me
i tried the opal but it didnt work properly, i actually had to hard reset to get rid of it
as for the timeout, it still doesnt solve the problem of the phone becoming ACTIVE as soon as a notification or text message is received
Hey, ive been having problems for a long time now with the device lock feature of the HTC Touch HD. I've set the device so that the lock screen only prompts for the password if the device is idle for 5 minutes but when using applications such as Album or TomTom that don't require the user to touch the screen that often, the screen locks itself!!! This is really annoying as well lol does anyone know how to fix this? Maybe a registry hack or something? Thanks.
and by the way i did perform a hard reset and had the same problem
any? any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
I've had a look around and found issues relating to freezing on the lock screen and in calls but nothing to do with SMS's.
If i'm constantly texting on my HD2, every other minute or so after sending/receiving around 30 texts my phone starts to lag, and soon after gets to the point that replying to a message is near impossible. For some reason it really doesn't like picking up spaces when I'm typing, eventually getting to the point where it won't recognise any input, and attempting to press any of the hard keys doesnt work, except the lock key, which shows half of the lock screen where the keypad was, but the top half of the screen still remains in the text input window.
Is anyone else having this problem? The only way I can solve it is to pull the battery!
1024 Leo, USA T-Mobile version.
It only happens with incoming email, SMS and calls are fine.
When I try to reproduce the problem, I simply have to wait for the phone to check for new mail. The the phone notifies me about new email. If I try to turn the screen on, it won't. The hard button lights up, indicating the phone is on but I can't interact with the screen. Resetting the phone via the red button is the only remedy.
If I act real fast when new mail comes, sometimes I'm able to start sliding to unlock but it still crashes. If I'm really fast I'm able to even get to the mail screen but it still crashes.
But the crash does not occur if I'm already using the phone when new email comes in. If I want to reproduce it, I have to leave the phone "alone", with the screen off. If the screen is on when the new mail comes in, the crash does not occur.
The problem started occurring with completely stock phone, the very first day, without making changes. As I cab tweaked the phone, (no ROM) the problem persists, it happens.
Because of this problem, when I wake up in the morning, I can't use my phone because the screen doesn't turn on and I have to restart the phone so I can use it. My mail send/receive interval is set for 4 hours so while I sleep the phone receives new email at least once.
I investigated similar problems for TP2 and Touch HD but it does not help.
I backed up everything on my phone so I'm ready to make changes if you have any advice. I checked for: changing the email ring tone, wake up on new email setting. They have no effect on this problem.
After this happens, I tried calling my phone. It will not ring, but the hard buttons light up but are unresponsive, I can't neither pick up nor reject the incoming call. I sent an SMS to the phone in this state, it didn't do anything.
Do you have knowledge that can help me? Is anyone willing to try to reproduce the problem on their phone?
All you would do is set any ring tone for incoming mail, leave the phone with the screen off and "wait" for new email to come in. Don't do anything for a minute and then check if the crash occurred.
Please help, I hate waking up to a crashed phone that I need to restart every time. Because of this problem, setting a wake up alarm is useless.
If you can't help with this, at least is there any way I can "force" the phone to restart without removing the battery cover?
Thank you.
Twice now in about 50 minutes while I was sending a text message in the stock messaging app my phone locked up completely. Could not use touch screen at all, all four bottom buttons were not functioning, the power button didn't work, nor did the volume buttons. Screen remained and frozen where I was last at... Pulled battery twice to fix issue and nothing seems wrong. Did freeze Messaging 2.3.4 in TiBu and do plan on using Handcent here soon. Anyone know what could be causing the issue??
Sorry for double post but third time in 64 minutes!!!
