Hi there,
could the Touch 3G owners report how the Battery life is with a normal use. Lets say check emails every 30 minutes, surf on internet 2 hours a day and make call phones 1o minutes or just your experience on your own use behavior.
İ will appreciate your answers since i am not sure whether to buy this model or not.
Thx Nayuna
Without checking emails, but with phone calls about 10 min, Internet - 30min, some photo shots, battery life is 3-4 days. It depends. Sometimes lasts more, if i use the phone for calls only this time extends up to 5-6 days. The battery is good enough.
"Most impressive is the Touch 3G's battery life. HTC rates the battery cycles at 6.5 hours talk-time and nearly 19 days standby. During our tests we charged the Touch 3G every third or fourth day, which is a big improvement on the single-day battery life of the Touch Diamond."

İf it is really every third or fourt day like they say it is really good performance for an wm smartphone. But this guys have not the same opinion

The batterylife is very good. I've changed Sony-Ericsson (very good batterylife) to HTC Jade and I was freaky with the battery. But very happy of the performance. It's a good smartphone.
152 hours since the last charging
I bought it a month ago.Suddenly the bat went empty within 16 hours and this happened twice in the row.I wonder if anyone can give a hint regarding an average duration with practically minimum use and applications closed.THX
it lasts me from 6am to 6p the max needs a charge
try flashing a new radio and rom, mine lasts about 3 days before it goes dead
I have a CDMA Sprint Diamond with the MightyMouse ROM. If I am careful, and make sure the RAM is running low than 40 then I could get it to work for about 5-7 days. Otherwise, regularly I get 3 days.
does the touch pro last as long? im not thinking so but i just thought i would ask.
I think the Touch Pro would go for longer since it has a 1340mah battery as apposed to a 900mah one like the Diamond.
My diamond can go for a while depending on usage. If i don't use it, it can go for a whole day and be almost full. If i text a lot, say 100 messages over the day it might last only 8 hours or so. But i have screen brightness on 100%.
Try using the latest ROM and Radio, and make sure that you don't have stuff on when youre not using them like wifi and bluetooth. Should be able to last longer.
Hi guys,
I work for a mobile operator and we can choose one of the following (HTC) mobiles this year:
HTC Diamond II
HTC Magic
HTC Touch Cruise II
Overall I find HTC's battery life not really impressive (had a touch dual before) but the Magic really looks like a great phone and I'm willing to give it a try over my Nokia E51 and accept the fact that I might need to charge it daily...
So I had a question about charge time (using the normal charger, so not the USB one): how long does it take to charge the phone to 100% if it's on let's say 20% for example?
Cheers

Depends on how much u fiddle with it u wanker.
If Im just taking incomming calls it's and texting some it lasts 2 days.
If im synced, got wlan on, dling all the new apps, gps, kamera etc. Its like 6hrs.
mines like the energizer bunny
it lasts a good day and a half for me..and im constantly texting youtubing, playing games and listening to music..im very happy with its battery life especially compared to the g1 batterlife which was awful
HTC Magic: Approx. 1 hour
3 hours to charge for me.
That's quite a variety - I think if you have the vodafone version with less ram it might last a little longer too

D00d...he wants to know how long it takes to CHARGE not deplete the battery.
Mine charges from 75%-65% to 100% on the USB Macbook cable in like 35mins. I leave it plugged in while I'm home.
This is a Google ION same as Magic/G2.
Hello Guys i just want to ask you a question, befor when i use Nokia Phones with Symbian OS for a few years i know with sure for example when you have more installed APPs on the SD Card and more Data like Pictures Music ETC.. More DATA mean that your battery will be dryed faster no matter that some of the DATA just stay in the CARD without to be used, this is how it is with Symbian OS
Now i think its posible to be the same for All Smarphones i mean
If you have for example SD Card 8 GB and the card is full with Data and you have 8GB on her your battery will drayn faster no matter do u use all DATA or not often, in this case if you have less DATA and you SD card is almost FREE your battery must to be better.
This is how it is with Symbian i want to ask some peoples who know tha answer do they think is the same here with HTC and our Blackstones?
Well got 8GB card and 35 MB left - my battery lasts with light usage from 5 to 7 days so I think the answer is NO

my battery does not lasts for a day
You can get the stock battery to last 18 days or something in standby and no other use with a new battery (so, only phone on). If your phone doesn't last 5+ days with little to no use then it's probably time for a replacement battery. With heavy use it will last about 15hrs. And it's best to not let the battery drop below 15% or go over 90% when charging to keep it working nicely for longer.
ALL depends from the usage like you say in stand by mode for 24 hrs i don`t lose 1% so someone can say my battery is up 10 days yes if you don`t use your phone its posible.
For example now my battery is up 3 days and i have 25% left BUT
I i use WiFi watch youtube, play games, watch pictures.. play with the phone, recive alot of calls and etc restart it around 10 times because i do some regystri tweaks and etc so i think its normal to handle 2 days with serious usage.. also i think that the RESTAR drain much from your battery
i make about 15 - 20 min calls
check my mail about 10 - 15 times (using 3G)
sometimes log in msn messenger
play a couple of sudoku or bubble braker games.
Bluetooth & wifi always off
i dont overcharge my battery
Just wondered if there was a better battery on the market to buy or if HTC are developing one?

3rd Parties do sell batteries with higher capacity. But quality is not assured and they are not endorsed by HTC.
I've always had bad experience with 3rd party batteries.
Custom ROM + setting up your phone correctly is the best way to improve your battery life
Turn your mobile off..

try callibration as described in one of the many battery threads on here, and if your running a custom CM7 based rom try mad-murdocks battery fix, But in reality with a high powered smart phone you aint gonna get much more than a days usage out of it without charging.
In the beginning I also had huge problems with my DHD's batterylife.
Now, it easily lasts 2 whole days with constant hspda connection, push on and no task manager, rooting or anything... ow, and my screen is always set to 100% brightness.
Don't know why I had such low batteeylife in the beginning, but I'm absolutely loving it now, lasts way longer than my iPhone 3gs
I have fount using the MIUI rom, has helped my battery.
I wouldn't buy a 3rd party battery...I dont think they live up to the claims they make.
i've bought an extra chinese battery for when im travelling where there's no outlets. works good for me
For me my battery lasts easily 35 hours.
My best advice is, if you have a HTCSense.com account, remove it. It drains battery very fast.
I am on CM7 RC1 with maddock's new kernel and android assistant with auto quick boost every 2 hours, works pretty well for me. idling only 1% power consumption an hour sometimes even less.
THats with push gmail, wifi, 3g constantly turned on.
My battery started of very poor but its improving over time.. current stat : 22 hrs phone idle , screen on : 1:15 , voice call : 22min , WiFi : 4hrs , data connection on when no WiFi , music : 45min , fair bit of browsing , 25% battery left ....

Using Revolution 4.0 rom and took 13 hours to take 10% of battery. Pretty good.
Wireless on and some calls
third party battery's are really cheap, so carrying a few extra battery's while on a flight off more then 8 hours for example is really convinient, because a few extra battery's don't take alot off space and they are really cheap.
And I also do run custom roms, right now I have the Gingerbeard rom from Mike running, but it was said that the custom roms use less enegry, but I don't know if you would notice alot off difference.
Getting at least a day use out of the stock battery

My battery was crap before i rooted,
With root and gingerroms i cant complain on the battery lifetime anymore.
I got an external battery instead: (search for TeckNet Dual-Port iEP380 5000mAh on Amazon, I can't post links yet).
Lots of capacity, but rather slow to charge (both itself, and the phone)
I can lasts 2 to 3 days with normal use (tweeting sometimes, updating weather, twitter, facebook, htcsense, and anything else every hour, txting 5x a day, calling 0 to 3 times a day, and spending 5 to 10 minutes on market every day).
I am using stock rom.
And using JuiceDefender with UltimateJuice to let my phone turn of 3G every time, and turn on 3G every hour for 1 min to update.
I'd love to have an extr battary.
