I won't wait but I know it's gonna suck going back to using 1.6 from 2.1.

I wish one of the ones on ebay would have some sort of proof that it has all of the bands needed for T-Mobile. It's not looking good right now.

Over on StreakSmart someone talked with a CSR and July 14th was mentioned, also happens to be the last day of the beta test, take it for what its worth.

Cool. Anyone have a price estimate? Dell initially said $500+ but I have heard $699?

[INFO] Notification List for the Streak's US availability

Wishing for some odd reason Dell Sales chat would magically say "Yes you may order one now, let me take your information" was my main motivation to bug them tonight. And hey, some good came of it, I am on a notification list!
"For now, we have no exact date when the device will be offered on the US but if you want, we can send you a quote to notify you when it is available for US. is that okay?"
So I listed my phone and email then gave appreciation for the small yet extremely satisfying gesture.

Others in that thread also confirm this "notification list" offer from the sales chat reps.
Rumor has it, the Streak will be available on July 14th

sounds good hopefully it stands. ive had this phone on my radar for quite some time now. now im gettin this instead of the x10 because the x10 is taking too long to come here.

I received my USA Streak yesterday. Both ATT and TMobile cards work. I bought my Streak from a winner in the Streak Giveaway Charity Race .. I can't register it until the 15th because he wasn't supposed to be able to sell it until then. What that tells me is the 'gossip' is correct .. THAT will be the release date. Maybe the 14th as the rumor has it or the 15th when the winners are released from their obligation ..

2.2 Has a lot of updates as you would expect in a major update but to be honest it flies with 1.6 on it so i am loving it.
I bet there are a few in the US at the moment who are very jealous of you,just hope you all have a chance to get one real soon

I know someone that is getting their USA Streak tomorrow. Can't wait to hear what he has to say. I don't know who is the bigger gadgetaholic, me or him. Or is that him or I ??? Him or me? School was decades ago .. I can't remember.

Samsungs TV's are pretty good too, but not as good as my kick ass dell streak over here in the UK

I am in the same boat. Dell and AT&T are taking too long to give me any info on release a release date, and AT&T has yet to acknowledge the phone even exist by the way. So I am going with the Captivate as well. It also looks more promising as it will have a giant community to back it up. Plus Samsung is going to release the phone's source code something Dell has yet to do.

Riiggghhhhttt.... I've been following the Streak since it was first seen in December 2009. They've totally blown any PR for this device.
As for Samsung updates - the Captivate has already been rooted and it hasn't even been released! Are you daft? You're a "senior member" on this board and you're going to try to use "software updates" as a detterent? That's what this whole damned site is for! I've loaded so many custom ROMs on my phones from this site it's crazy! Your statements are just plain stupid.

Another thing stupid about the software updates comment - the Streak is shipping with 1.6! At least the Captivate ships with 2.1!
Now tell me, who's going to be waiting on software updates? Maybe you were one of the people that got burned on the Behold 2? By a piece of sh*t, no matter who you buy it from, and you get what you pay for.

Dude shut up, you sound like a b***h you are making us look bad infront of our brothers and sisters across the pond . ATT is not going to over lap two major phone releases. The Galaxy S phone is coming sunday (I think). Dell Streak is the next big release phone on ATT or TMO or both. The release date and more info could be coming out probably next week. ATT is not going to cut the head off of Galaxy S sales either so you are probably looking at a mid Aug release its just common sense if you think about it. Stop whinning and talk about how badarse Lock Stock and two smoking barrels is.

Good things come to those who wait, i saw the streak promos months ago and thought that was exactly what i was waiting for.. but being an adult i could wait.
so we Brits got it a few weeks quicker big wow, normally you guys get everything earlier and CHEAPER! such is life

Anyway, the only reason it was released over here first was so they could Iron out the bugs with us early adopters so you guys won't have to put up with any!

Not sure if its better to be an early tester with all the bugs or have to wait with nothing but a more polished product.
I am QUITE jealous though of O2's deal where the streak is FREE with a 2 yr contact at $25/mo?! Nothing nearly good when it comes to the states

well, it's 25 pounds, actually -- and that is data only. For a data and voice contract, it's £35 -- which is over $50 per month!

Still even at $50/mo for a FREE Streak thats an amazing deal compared to anything in America. We will have to either buy it subsidized for $199 and pay $70/mo for 2 yrs or buy it unlocked for $500 and pay $50/mo anyways

UK Launch Date 1st May

According to techradar the UK launch date is now officially 1st May. They don't say the source other than
Samsung has announced that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will be heading to shops on 1 May, offering Android 2.3 and Samsung's Super AMOLED Plus screen technology.

Where Samsung announced it I dont know, twitter? There isn't even an S2 page on the Samsung UK website that I can find.
But good to know that this phone isn't far away. Cant imagine other country release dates will be too far away.
This ties in with the email Clove sent a member, so preorders wont be sent till the 3rd, but should be available in stores over the May Day bank holiday period.

But most interesting is 21mbps internet. Will all carriers other than 3 revert back to existing plans of more than 500mb internet? Otherwise lets pray 3 get it on may 1st.

Why would Samsing 'ship' on a Sunday?
If you ask me, they'll be shipping the week before, ready for the retail release on the Sunday, and, as with most bank holidays, there will be plenty of people out shopping.

ill be visiting the carphone warehouse near the time to see if they will have stock in on the 3rd.

On relation to the topic. Yeh the proximity of the release of the Sensation may cause price plans to be reavaluated, especially as they are phones being released around the time of an uprgrade for HTC Hero/Desire users. Think I may take a trip to town just to admire lustfully at the screen and to count down the hours till my contract ends.
As Sensation has been I think said to be priced similarly to the DHD, will the S2 be similar to the S1 when it was launched?

Has anyone been on the phone to the carriers yet specifically Orange? My contract is up at the moment and I am just on a rolling 30 day contract whilst waiting for this. When i phoned them up last week the guy didn't have a notion about the SGS2 so just wanted to check on here before phoning back again.

Idk I'm not retarded I feel that way. But if you even Google Samsung 10.1 June 16th many sites say its the release date. Honestly I have been tabletless for over a month waiting if retailers sell out Friday while I work a double I'm gonna have to get a f***king Xoom

(With Extreme Sarcasm) What on earth would make you think a company would ever try to do something like that??
I mean gosh that would be like telling everybody the update for your phone you made is coming soon then releasing it six months later.
Or like vague references to Dual Application Processor and then start using the actual brand name a few days before launch.
Or like telling everyone your tablet you make is launching on a specific date only to launch in one store that date and pushing back the full launch one week
Or like telling everyone that folks in your one store launch can only have one specific model after they lined up after hearing about your one store launch two-step move.....
Or like showing an MicroSD card slot on your tablet at every conference and uTube video only to launch without one and require a non existant cellular radio version purchase to *possibly* have a MicroSD card slot.
(And I preordered a Galaxy Tab. I guess Samsung is to me what a abusive white trash husband is to his spouse. Beat me as you may, I will always come back....)

I advise you not to resort to such drastic measures. I owned a xoom. Trust me breddren, you don't want to do that.

huh ? I've owned 2 Xooms. The Xoom is an incredible device. Beats this in almost all specs minus form factor and weight. I'm buying this solely on its size.
