Change Language on HTC HD MINI - Tutorial - HD Mini General

Hi all,
Did anyone change the language of the HTC HD MINI sucessfuly (change to a Original Shipped ROM)?
I would like to have a simple tutorial to do it.
I really need to change the language of my device... Hope for your answers.
Thanks.

Hello,
follow the guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=694409
- Some time, you'lll have to retry many times. It seem you have to restart the phone before flashing it, elsewhere you'l receive "device not" message.
- To find the RUU_signed.nbh file, you simply have to rename the original ROM file in *.zip and extract it.
It worked fine for me.

Hummm... but does it work to change from a branded original ROM to a debranded original ROM? As I read, to change to a Shipped Rom I should use GoldCard (which is expensive)...

I wanted to install one of this ROM's http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Photon/ ---- the Portuguese ROM.
Can I do it with this process and no risk?

Your processed worked. Really thanks.

How to update ROM on O2 Orbit-solution

All,
I've exchanged many emails with the imei.check.co.uk team and also met personally one of these guys in order to be able to upload a new ROM to my O2 Orbit. I had excatly the same problem as many of you with ending the uploding process with "model invalid id" error message.
Now I'm happy to say we do have a solution.
So if you want to change your ROM (any), simply follow these instructions:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Of course you can publish the instructions...
BUT PLEASE put a BIG WARNING! It will crash the phone in case you don't have a valid key file to perfom the last step: RUN THE UNLOCKER AGAIN AFTER THE ROM MODEL SWITCH TO RECOVER FROM THE DATA CRASHED MESSAGE!
Hello,
we found a way to flash ANY artemis roms in ANY Artemis look alike device (HTC Hero too).
Tools you need:
-hexworkshop from http://www.bpsoft.com/downloads/
-Any rom
-winzip or winrar
-http://www.imei-check.co.uk/C3v1Unlock.zip
a valid UNL file for your phone.
install hexworkshop and winzip/winrar
Take any rom for example: ART_HTCWWE_11240501_026790_WWE_Ship.exe
in explorer, right click on it and select "Extract files..."
Now it will unpack all the files
You'll have now "HTCWWE_shipsigned.nbh"
right click on it and Click "Hex Edit with Hex Workshop"
You'll see on the 5th row ARTE10000
Make it ARTE***** and save file
Now right click on ROMUpdateUtility.exe and "Hex Edit with Hex Workshop"
Search for word password.it will find it at 0x3E0B0 after password replace "BsaD5SeoA" with "IMEICHECK" and save the .exe file
Now connect the phone to the pc (normal way). run the C3v1Unlock.exe
when is asking for UNL file, disconect the phone from pc, press cancel, and
close the unlocker.
Now connect the phone back to the pc (in this mode it is) and run the
ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Now follow the instructions as the upgrade it will work.
After upgrade done, run the unlocker again and this time select the correct UNLfile.
Task Done.
C3 after flashing with any WIFI roms it will STILL not have WIFI!!!
Regards,
IMEI-CHECK Team

Cheers, Martin
YESS, I have changed my GER rom to new HTC official ENG Rom, you are the best!!!!!! It's very simple to do...
yuppyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
the next step is.... backup the ROM I'm search ITA ROM form my HTC 3300.
see you later...
Good Discovery,
But the key is: We will have to pay 38USD for the "Proper UNL file" which is unique for every IMEI. Is it right?
Yeah, Thanks mr. Martin who is from Imei-Check Team. But we are still looking for a free solution.
Regards!
Tamagochi,
yes, first you have to go to imei.check and pay for the unlocking program and the unique .unl file.
P.S. I'm not a member of imei.check, just had the same problem as many Orbit users here...you can find my previous thread.
Works great on all versions.
Great support from the boys from emeicheck
Question about directions
Okay, I'm gonna try this. Do I still follow these directions exactly even though I have already unlocked the CID?
Also, when you see the line "ARTE1000" do you actually replace the "1000" part with the little stars? Sorry, I'm really new at this!
Thanks!
Yes you must do it all.
HELP
Everything went smoothly but when the device rebooted, it want me to "align the screen". It doesn't seem to be able to detect the stylus touching the screen! Can't get past that screen! Anybody know what I could have done wrong?
REF: HELP (Never Mind...)
I DID IT, I DID IT, I DID IT!!!! Just had to wait a minute or two and then everything seemed to work fine!!! TomTom is there, my WiFi is working! Thank you MAROSV and FRANCOBANCO!!!! If I can do it, ANYBODY can!! THANK YOU!!!
Hi KleineMaus,
I am wondering which ROM u used on your orbit that includes tomtom?
Or do you just mean you still had tomtom stored on your menory card?
Cheers, Towelie.

hi, I've just used the last HTC offical Rom (see xda ftp site..) that include TomTOm + 1 city map
byebye
Hi, I used the ROM on the Wiki page Dopod|English|DOPOD001|ARTE1****|1.25.707.2 ??/??/0?|1.25.707.104|1.25.0000|02.69.90|4.1.13.30| [Download|ftp://xda:[email protected]/Artemis/Shipped_Complete_Updates/ARTE_DOPODAU_12570702_026990_WWE_SHIP.exe]|[Thread|http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286639]
It worked like a charm. The only problem I had was that when the Orbit re-booted after the process finished, it didn't seem to detect the sylus. I just waited five minutes and then it worked. Guess it was still getting settled in with it's new ROM. I don't know where I had the TomTom before I started the update, but it installed the German maps which were there before but as a bonus it gave me a English speaking voice which I didn't have before. It came with a German voice and I couldn't change because I had not yet upgraded the memory and had no room. So, my update was super! The only little thing is that once I changed the screen color back to blue instead of that terrible green, I couldn't get the phone part (dialing pad) to change to blue. No biggie, as now I can use my Orbit in English. I can live with the green phone pad! Maybe somebody will tweak that one. Hope this wasn't more info than you needed....
KleinMouse,
the dialing pad can be easily changed as well....just do a little seach on this Artemis forum and you will find many links pointing to skins available for WM5 phone edition.
O2 Orbit ROM upgrade info
Hi,
my o2 orbit has ROM 1.25.206.2 WWE. I wanted to know if this is the latest ROM available for my phone. I got my phone 10 days ago and i gotta do a soft reset on it every day. I had the same kind of problems with o2 Atom. But most of the issues were corrected once the ROM was upgraded. Please someone update me on my situation. Thanks
I tried the steps but i'm always getting the ERROR[300] : INVALID UPDATE TOOL - This Update Utility cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please get newer Update Utility
Anyone who can help me here? I already tried different ROMs but always the same message
Did you unlock with imei-check? What is your model ID ARTExxxx ?
Yes i did. My Model ID is ARTE100
Hmm, but the steps described above are necessary to follow only if your model is Orbit (ARTE200). If you have HTC P3300 or Dopod p800W or Artemis or MDA compact 3, then you don't need to do it this way. The only thing you need to do is to unlock with Imei-check. If it still doesnt work, contact their help desk.
Ok i see, very strange indeed. I did the unlock with the stuff from Imei-check but i still get the message ERROR [244] : INVALID MODEL ID . If i try the steps from your post #1 , i get the described error obove. I'll try to contact the guys from imei-check, i hope they can help me
Hi Kleine Maus, I read with great joy that you succeeded and I would like to feel the same way.... Could you kindly reply to me and give me some detailed instructions to follow? Hopefully this will work for my HTC P3300....Thanks in advance.... I really appreciate it. Best SiperX

Model number conflicts/ROM upgrade problem

I recently acquired an Artemis that was externally branded as a Dopod. Even though a new device, it contained an O2 ROM (1.25.207.1 GER) in German. I have been able to successfully change to WM5 (1.12.405.101) and WM6 (3.13.405.1), as well as WM6 O2 WM6 Premium Plus 1.0. Each time I used USPL before changing the ROM. These changes happened without a hitch.
However, when I attempt to change to a Dopod WM5 (1.25.707.2) or WM6 (3.7.707.1) ROM, I get an Invalid Model ID error message. I'm trying to understand the problem as well as any potential fix.
After a lot of time in the forums, I seem to be going in circles. I see multiple references to other unexplained Model ID problems, but no clear answer. Unfortunately, I did not check the model number while I still had the O2 ROM installed. I'm not sure if the number was ARTE200 or ARTE100, which it is right now with the HTC WM6 ROM installed.
One possible solution I found for a similar situation was a message by dtobin suggesting a re-install of the original O2 ROM and then changes to the Dopod ROMs. I'll try that tomorrow.
Can anyone suggest a different path or solution. I just have not made the connection as to why I can go back to the HTC ROMs, but not back to the Dopod.
thanks

Which activesync do you use?
What kind of virusscanner/firewall is intalled?
Does an error occur while using RUU? if so which code?
seejsee:
uspl needs some patching. it will not allow any rom installation, but will allow most of them.
if you want to find out model id:
start-settings--system-device information-identity. there is ARTEXXX number.
you can also open back cover, remove a battery, there is a model on a sticker.
when you want to flash official shipped WM6 HTC ROM for the different country device (you want to change a ROM language on your device)
the solution for you is this:
0. get original shipped ROM for your device.
register your device on htc site (eClub or something..). this will alow to download rom relevant for your device (original, shipped rom). it is always a good idea to have it, in case if something will go wrong during upgrade. you will be able to go back, using original rom.
1. take a rom, which was flashed successfully on your device last time (or you can take original shipped htc rom, which you have downloaded)
2. extract files from this rom with winrar or other utility
3. locate RUU_signed.nbh file. open it in winhex editor or other hex editor tool. make a note of model id and country code.
model - offset 00000040 (example: ARTE1000), country - 000001E0 (example HTC__001). the example is for engl. rom.
4. take a rom you wish to flash (the one does not flash with uspl installed). extract this rom (same as in step 2)
you will need to make small "adjustments" in this rom.
correct country and model id to values corresponding to "last good flashed rom".
5. save changes in .nbh file.
6. flash this "corrected" rom as you normally do with ROMUpdateUtility.exe, from the directory where you have extracted files.
you can simplify process and use following values on all ROMs, when you modify your desired .NBH file:
- for the model ARTE1***
- for country code 11111111
this will work with USPL.
re: USPL must be installed prior to flashing or device must be CID unlocked.
after flashing ROM, install USPL again, because it will be overwritten by new ROM.
regards,
wm6 x htc p3300
italian?
maria1:
this is true for any htc shipped official wm6 rom.
regards,
Success!
I took the advice of fdp24 and used a hexeditor to modify the model number and country code of the .nbh file in the desired ROM to match the data from a ROM that would install.
I will also try the 11111111 approach too.
regards,
cc
another succes here, changed the value's with winhex, now I have the official english htc rom wm6 on a dutch p3300, thanks!!

Install ROM with malfunctioning volume button??

Hey
I´m been searching the forum for the last hour and haven´t find how you install a rom with the pc, Can only find the storagecard method..
I want to install the default rom on my xperie because some buttons on the keyboard inclusive the volumebutton so the storagecard method isn´t an option for me..
Could someone help me out ?
thx
Most roms downloaded will come in a folder that has a rom update utility prog. Connect your X1 via activesync and run the program and follow on screen instructions
Thx for the tip,
but the two stock roms that i´ve downloaded here only come with either an .image or .nbh file without any other update utility..
The reason why I have to change back to the stock rom is only to be able to send it on service since the volumebutton and some keys on the keyboard won´t work..
So i´m still looking for a way to install the stock rom without using the volumebutton at the startup..
thx in advance

Download a ROM that comes with an installer and simply use that with the stock image.

Download any ROM that comes with the RUU flasching tool (Xperia GEN, Touch-IT, ...)
Unpack the archive and delete the file RUU_signed.nbh. Rename the original ROM file as "RUU_signed.nbh" and place it in the RUU folder.
Now, flash your ROM with the provided installer.

Hello
Ive the same problem with defect buttons....
my qwertz keyboard sometimes is not funcional and the vol buttons doesnt work anymore....
if you have installed a custom rom based on R1A or R2A stock rom you only need the HardSPL package.....
there is an exe file "enterbootloader.exe"...... only copy it to your storage card and then run it on your X1...... now you have entered the bootloader and can do a reinstall/update of your ROM with SEUS and you will get the Stock rom....... after this you only have to install the stock SPL from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431218
manual is on buttom of the first post.....

Hi there....

I'm not familliar with english, but i'll try my best to be understandable.
I've flashed my HTC phone with a firmware that don't seems to work. (Network can't be reached anymore). I think this is a HTC TOUCH CMDA, so why the rom does not work on my phone. This phone comes from orange france provider, and have 128/256MO memory, so it is if i understood well an ELFIN.
I've backed up my original rom before going up flashing, and rebuilt the rompack with htcrom tool (i hope i made it well or i kill myself down)...
Very simple question at least...
What is the procedure to flash it back ?
Help really needed quick...
Best regards.
Francois.
Hi,
Quite easy question
Download ELF_USPL_2.26.0000.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445666
rename ur backupped rom to RUU_Signed.nbh
copy the new one and overwrite the old one in ELF_USPL_2.26.0000 folder.
Now run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow instructions, this should work.
Best regards

So youre phone is not turning on after flashing a new ROM? Sorry, its very hard to understand your post. The translation isnt the greatest... If you did try to flash a ROM and now youre phone is not turning on, do not tell T-Mobile what you did, it will void your warranty. Simply send the phone to HTC and tell them it just wont turn on. Theyll send you a new one under warranty. Good luck!
You tried to install a ROM for the Euro HD2 and that will brick a US HD2...the instructions here at xda clearly state not to use those on that phone.
As donkeypunch said, your only hope is to send it to HTC service directly, and not disclose what you did, just state that it suddenly won't boot anymore.
One person referred me to download the original rom for it is 2:13 ... and extract the file, you will see many files, has one. nbh, you rename it to leoimg.nbh, copy it pro sd, with the hd2 off you keep the volume down button and turn on the HD2, so install the rom by hd2 sd .. Already downloaded the rom just do not have these files available. Only the executable program's rom. Does anyone know where this rom down this way?
i also facing the same problem after i install ROM and now my HTC HD2 totally cannot turn on. Any solution? please help! Thanks in adcvance!
We have been seeing this more and more. I hate to tell you this but it is time to send it back as you have a very nice brick now. Please guys/gals Read before you flash, understand what you are doing before you try and you will save alot of time.

You need to unzip the exe file and it will give you the rest of the files. Good luck but dont count on it fixing it
