Sorry but just noticed when on iPad xda loads in compact view for those who don't know it shows devices as sub forums in manafactures with their os next to them thought I would just note it says the samsung galaxy s Is a windows mobile device when it is android

have anyone tried to contact samsung mobile?
i think would be good idea to contact and push them to make a better rom for b7610 (louvre) or to stripped down their rom from skinned all functions and features in the smartphones (omnia II and omniapro b7610), samsung mobile should realized that their products (omnia II and omniapro b7610) were had failures in the face of users, many users were disapointed when the product they bought was much less then their expectation.
PEOPLE BUY THE PRODUCTS BECAUSE THE HARDWARE SPECIFICATION AND THE WINDOWS MOBILE ITSELF NOT THE SAMSUNG MOBILE'S SOFTWARE
people choose windows mobile because it fills people needs for many reasons, such apps to installed, works, fun, etc. when samsung mobile replace all functions and features of windows mobile and stripping down many factors especially RAM left this can be horrible for samsung mobile itself
samsung mobile should know about these all, when people dissapointed they will traumatized to buy samsung products in this case samsung will dropped their market to sell smartphones, remember this, there are many smartphone products from many vendor which satisfy the needs of their user such HTC the big name, people will move to other product beside samsung even the price stick more than samsung products
of course samsung may implemented their original ROM to make characteristic of their own but still remember people dont buy samsung mobile's software but windows mobile anyway samsung mobile software already implemented in product non windows mobile
i guess many samsung users (omniapro b7610 and omnia II) feels were being cheated by samsung mobile about the specification of the hardware they got.We got less than what we have expecting (ex. RAM)
oh man..this just sucks and so annoying me until i should write this public mail for samsung mobile to show my dissapointed of their products (omniapro b7610 and omnia II)
this is not about the hardware but for samsung mobile software on windows mobile software
anyone have an access by anything to samsung please tell them about this thread. Anyone agree with me?? let's make our stand to push samsung mobile and sticky this thread
some of our friend in another forum already gather sign in to make a stand push samsung mobile and their number increased day by day
helo
my fren is using samsung wave II - Abada Operating system ....
i am using Tab - Android
can i transfer Android apps that i downloaded from Android market .... to her samsung wave?
if yes... them how to transfer to her ?
thanks!!
Bada is a different os compared to Android. Also the market for Bada isn't managed by Google. Unless the apps have a Bada version, there will be no way to use them... It's the same as if you had an iPhone, bought iMovie and wanted to use it on a Galaxy S (or any other phone for the matter): it's not going to happen. If instead you had bought Asphalt for the iPhone, you couldn't get it on the Galaxy S even if it has the needed version on the Market: you'd have to pay for the Android version, too, as it's different from the iPhone one and you'd have bought it from Apple and not from Google.

Would it be possible to run Windows Phone 7 on the Xoom you think. I know theJPhone part won't work. But just to see how it might look and run. Just a thought.

Windows 7 isn't supported on Tegra processors. Thats why you won't be able to install it.
i hope noone who has the ability to maybe realize that is trashing his abilities so hard.
Maybe Windows 8 as its supposed to support ARM processor instructions. Start looking for a leaked beta soon.
Also for future reference only post in the Development section if your developing something (an application or ROM). This doesn't include asking about developing something.
Hey All,
So can I just ask why?
I mean I have a Windows Phone 7 phone as my backup/work phone (benefit of being in IT I get to not order my self a blackberry or an Iphone) and I can honestly say its a nice device and have owned 3 different generations of Zunes. Battery life is excellent and the UI is nice and clean and it works well. If I wasn't as vested as I was in android I would possibly consider making that the OS of my primary phone (which is currently a Droid X) once they have them on good old Verizon and HDMI out. That being said even good old Microsoft (who I actually really like) has said Windows Phone 7 is a phone only OS and not meant to be run on tablets. The whole design of the OS actually kind of falls apart if you imagine it on a large display since its novelty instead of having sub windows have everything on one horizontally long display, with the sub menu features essentially hidden off screen.
Now as for Windows 7, as of this point it wouldn't be possible. Windows 7 currently supports only x86 and x64 chips and google stopped supporting these processor types in android after 1.6. Which is the odd reason why some of those new dual boot android/win7 tabs all use android 1.6. So to pull off a main stream Windows OS on this tablet you will have to wait for Windows 7 Embedded (which is win 7 + mobile cpu/gpu support) or Windows 8.
Once they release an offical beta of Win 7 Embedded I have a funny feeling it will be ported to all sorts of devices

Shame
Reading the replies for that gentleman post is like reading a rude war against someone who is just asking a very simple question in an open forum, well people you all shouldn't be that rude to him.. replying with some helping words is better than posting harsh words.. aren't you all knowing what is the meaning of being "Polite"?
may be some day..
it would be a huge undertaking to do something like this.
however, despite feelings running high and peoples obvious favour toward android i do think it would be great to be able to run Windows7 or Windows Phone 7 on the Xoom.
Take as an example the HTC HD2 - its a windows mobile device that now supports the following list of operating systems..
windows mobile ce
windows phone 7 series
android stock
android sense
linux ubuntu - kubuntu
maego
windows95-98 ( emulation )
this is simply because some very talented developers locked on to the HD2 as it was the first superphone with a big screen and big power, and it came along before Android had such devices available...
back to the XOOM - i doubt we will ever see this sort of porting wizardry on our Xooms but nothing is set in stone, if someone could create something like MAGLDR (see HD2 forums) but for the Xoom then we could all enjoy a huge range of operating system choices.
Also, we all need to be aware that for the most part devices are perfectly able to run all sorts of operating systems in theory but as they are mass produced by manufacturers the way they are today we don't get to enjoy the fully unlocked benefits that we could.
imaging buying a pc and finding it wasn't possible to install LINUX instead of Windows !! - you would take it back to the store !!
Okay so i haven't offered a solution here - but lets not stop the imagination of others providing ideas that may some day become possibilities. and lets all hope that some day we can buy tablets like we buy pc's, with the ability to be loaded with a choice os O/S solutions.

Hi
I read Samsung 700T1 exist with windows 8 for developers and samsung sell Samsung 700T1 with windows 7 too.
My doubt is if i buy Samsung 700T1 with windows 7, it will be possible install windows 8 final!?? or could i be waiting for windows 8 final version installed inside 700T1!??
Anyone know if samsung 700T1 with 3G sim card slot option only exists at developers samsung or samsung 700T1 windows 7 too!?
Many Thanks
The 700T will be upgradable to windows 8. Samsung have stated this. I formatted the HDD and installed Windows 8 and it runs perfectly . I'm not sure about 3G as I have heard its only for the developers model but a quick Bing will surely have your answer

Just bought series 7 slate last week. This one can run Windows 8 perfectly fine. I use the developer preview overall it works considering this one not even beta yet. I can tell you that if you need to buy it right now go ahead and do it but if you can wait then it might be more choices in the future.
From my experience using this tablet, I loved it.
PS. About the SIM card slot I have slot cover on the right below rotation lock button. I couldn't pop it up so not sure if mine has 3G or not. I have the 128GB model that comes with keyboard and stand.
I just tried to connect my s10+ (verizon) to my windows 10 PC (1903) and it doesn't see it connected in the Dex Application . I have reinstalled the usb drivers. The phone does show up connected , i can browse files through windows file manager. Just Dex app doesn't see it connected. Has anyone else had this happen?
Isn't this a Note 10 feature for now?
"Bring Samsung DeX to your computer
A simple USB cable unlocks Samsung DeX on your computer.

I’m expecting someone from XDA to port this to the S10+ within a few weeks of the Note 10/Note 10+ general availability.
I’m not aware of a hardware reason for why this wouldn’t work on the S10+; it seems like it might just be software: the Note 10+ runs OneUI 1.5.

I hope Samsung implement this feature on S10. I think they will after global Note 10 launch.

i really hope they bring this to S10 plus and Tab S4
Oh I was looking forward to try DeX on my laptop with my S10...
Is there known way to do it yet?
I think only the corporate varient of the S10 phones (which are purchased directly from Samsung like the unlocked consumer U1 but has a different model number) was shipped with the ability to use Samsung Dex out of the box.
The only reason I know about the corporate varient which isn't discussed on XDA is because Amazon sent some to customers when the U1 was out of stock.
A Google search of the model number Amazon shipped brought up a website that looked like the official Samsung site for purchasing the unlocked Galaxy 10 but was targeting corporate clients and Dex functionality was listed as being an important feature for enterprise collaboration.
Full Dex functionality is already included in the consumer firmware for the S10+ but Samsung isn't currently allowing it to work.
As of now, you have to use DeX cable or Dec pad for for using Samsung dex on S10. A simple Type C to HDMI cable is also capable of same.
The DeX Link is an Note10(+) exclusive atm.
We, the S10/+/e User, get the DeX Link (USB C Cable only) with the OneUI 2.0 Update. Just visit the Samsung DeX for Windows Homepage and read it. ?

not for me.. not yet . I have the north American snapdragon variant. seems the update is only for other version
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Only available on Exynos right now, snapdragon should get it with the next updates, the september firmwares are a lower fw revision and got pushed out before it went live on exynos september firmwares. With the s10s getting android 10 soon(ish) we might only see security/stability updates before that goes live though.
Got update, so tried on 3 diff PCs and cant get it to work no matter what..

My S10+ got the ASIG update today and DeX is working perfectly fine.
First install DeX on your PC.
Then open it, and connect your S10 to the PC with USB cable. On the notification bar there will be a DeX option. Click on it and it should work. For me this worked.

If you had debloated your device you need to reinstall the dex packages
Got the Update yesterday and just tried DeX on windows.
Is the resolution very low? Looks like 720p to me on my 1440p x 3440 monitor. Cant find any settings for resolution in the DeX settings.
