I found it on the market and was finally able to put ringtones on internal memory (rooted) and saw on comments later it acts fishy/like a virus...
So i uninstalled it for now...

i add no issues with it. It seemed to be constantly running. That was my only issue with it.
For those of you stupid enough to root your xoom (yea i did too), what apps have you deleted? Keep in mind there is no going back if you screw something up.
Things i have deleted safely.
Cordy
Dungeon Defenders
StringrayProgramMenu
StingrayProgramMenuSystem
StingrayQuickOffice
I got rid of the stock e-mail app. Something about having that app in my app drawer despite NEVER using it always drove me crazy on my OG Droid, so after flashing a ROM it was always my first thing to delete. (I'm talking the e-mail app, not the gmail app)
EmailGoogle.apk it is, although I only renamed the file extension w/Root Explorer, didn't actually delete it yet. Going to wait for a full recovery option before going that route
NEVER delete an app from the system folder without a backup. OTA updates check for these files before they run, and they will not complete without them, no matter how stupid the app.
Instead rename the app by adding an extension such as program.apk.no and android will ignore it. It's really dumb to delete things forever.
You can also pull the apps to your computer using adb first.

Exactly what I did!
EmailGoogle.apk ---> EmailGoogle.apk.bak
App gone, but file there for later

I just move them to sdcard. But I also have the system dump if needed.

Ok so I just bought the evo shift from sprint and its been working great. I have over 500 songs and lots of pictures et cetera and I've been playing them all the time. This morning however I tried to play some music and it says music not found. Same thing with pics and vids. Apps saved on the card are fine. If I use astro and select a pic or mp3 it will open and play. Just not from any music players or photo viewers. Any ideas?
Edit: also a new development. I forgot to mention that I have clockwork mod recovery installed. And it won't let me turn my phone off. I power off and it automatically boots to recovery. Quite irritating.
Also I should probably mention that I am running my shift stock. No custom roms. Only thing I've done is root it using amoamares gui root method and the only root app I have is cache cleaner ng.
1. Not sure about your music.
2. That is a known issue with the recovery.
Ah I see I well I guess ill try getting rid of the recovery and go from there.

You might try copying them to your computer, making a new music folder on the sd card and moving them back.
Try moving your pics to the download folder and see if they show up.
What device are you coming from?

You don't have .nomedia files in those folders do you? Just throwing out possibilities.

After a little file snooping I discovered a .nomedia file on the root of my SD card ;p problem solved lol . Thanks for the help. Also in regards to my other problem - the forced recovery menu - anybody know if there is another safe recovery I can use?

i do have the same issue.. after i enter my passcode, the screen goes white and that's it.
I tried mine out after I read your post. Mine works fine until after I put in my password and then the screen just goes blank white. Does that happen with you too?
I've the same problem. Its just not bank of america. Discover is having similar issues. Maybe someone will come with a fix.

Same here, although I did go on the browser (cuz it was important) and used their site there. When I brought it up, an warning message came up telling me the certificate was invalid, and asked me to either continue or cancel. [I clicked continue, it was way too important even though I shouldnt have]
Rooted and Deodexed on 1.83 on stock.
i have the same problem with all the banking apps
i also had problems with another app just cant remember the name
i thinks its a universal problem with the software that is 1.8.3
Chase's does not work either.
hehe...........
Same issue here with BoA. There is a thread somewhere about all the banking apps messing up. Hope we get a fix soon cos' I use them a lot.

Damnit.. I guess this explains why my Chase app stopped working.. Good Work moto... 1.8.3 really did more harm than good... my fingerprint reader and wifi are kinda screwy now too..
BTW, BOA had a 10-12 our long web access meltdown the other day. Customers couldn't log in from phones OR computers for quite some hours, no explanation from BOA but I did see one mention of a DOS attack on the BOA system, so the problem might not be in your phones, or the app, at all.
same problem w boa app...pls fix

Odd my bofa works on build 183 though it's gingerblur.
[Edit] fingerprint works better than ever? Moto FTL.
I'm sure you have your reasons not being on Gingerblur already but maybe it's time to switch. I personally love it, though I use paid adw launcher (which just had a boss update come to the ging-side ^_^

Pretty odd that all the banking apps have this problem.

Perhaps this is the underlying issue?

Fix for the BoA issue
I found the following post on another forum and thought I'd share it.

I was able to fix the app by doing the following (seems the trust store got screwed up with the new release):
Grab all the certs from the bank of america cert chain (I used openssl, you could probably use something else):
openssl s_client -connect www.bankofamerica.com:443 -showcerts
Grab each of the trust certs (3 total) and put them in files ending in .crt
IE: cert1.crt, cert2.crt, cert3.crt (you could also create a pkcs12 out of 'em if you are inclined to do so).
This is likely the problem with other apps noted in this thread.
Place the files into internal storage download directory. Then go to Settings -> Location & Security -> Creential storage -> Install from internal phone storage.
Use: Certificate Manager and you should see your 3 available certs. Add them and then reboot the phone.
----
After the above procedure, I was able to log in using the BofA app.
Maybe same would work with other banking apps as well.
Regards,

Did you read the rest of that thread?
It didn't work for anybody else as far as I saw when I read through a different thread with the same content yesterday, and someone had a post about the certs and why this didn't work.
Also, this was right below what you copied and pasted from there:
"this didnt work for me for some reason, but when i did a brute force approach of getting all verisign certs, I was all set.
I just tried this on my phone and got both Bank of America and American Express apps to work again.
I ended up exporting all Verisign and GT certificates in .crt format using my Firefox browser, copying them to my Dropbox account (emailing them should be fine too) and installing them one by one on the phone. You need to reboot your phone after installing the certificates...
You can also figure out which certificates you need by clicking on the padlock or company name in the browser's URL bar "
First I hope Im posting this in the right place, second Im not a regular in this forum as I have another device, however I need some assistance. My girlfirend has the Droid 2 and yesterday stated experiencing an issue with the default messaging app. It will only allow her to type in 1 word and then stops functioning. I thought maybe pull the battery and it goes away. But shes done that and the issue is still there, so then Im thinking that maybe she somehow got a virus? I ran a virus scan with Lookout (it was already installed) and it didnt come up with anything. I cant seem to convince her to use another SMS app just to try because she refuses to download anything else, she's stubborn and just wants the default app to work. Do any of you have any ideas? Shes talking about doing a factory reset which Im not sure it will help and she isnt rooted (Yet) and does not have Titanium Backup on the device. Im open to some ideas before she does that reset and loses her apps and what not...Thanks in advance!!
