What size are the wallpapers on the Aria? I want to make my own wallpapers and make them so they move when you change home screens. So I know they can't be 320 x 480. Thanks

640x480 is the proper size
I forgot to ask, what file format can I use?
Sent from my HTC Liberty using XDA App
use the PNG format
Somethings not right. I downloaded several pics, made them 640x480 and put them on the sd card as both jpg and png. I get a message the pix has been set as my wall paper but when I go to my home screen it did not change. Any ideas?

Ok. I tried setting the wallpaper thru the photos app and it worked.kinda strange it wont work thru the personalize setting.

i just made a folder on the sd card called wallpapers and put a couple of 2560x1600 jpg wallpapers in and the personalize options worked just fine. if even lets you select the area and scale that the phone will use out of the bigger picture. Same with the lock screen.

I messed with the screen resolution in the build.prop file and now its kind of stuck on an in between resolution, any ideas on how to get it back to stock? Everything works fine currently but some of the apps don't display correctly (don't fill screen) and notification bar 3g and bars are a little blurry.
Other than that looks pretty good when you use ADW launcher.
Running 2.2 and rooted.

Use ADB to pull the file, modify it, and push it back?
or you could just push the BACKUP of that file back to the phone. See, I KNOW you kept a copy of that file before modifying it, right?
I tried modifying the file and pushing it back and it didn't change.
Of course I have backup of original file on PC :-D. Guess I will try that next.

I recently copied my 1920x1200 wallpapers from my PC onto the Tab, but when I set any of them as wallpaper you can easily tell how bad/low quality they become. I read somewhere that the Gallery app does this, but I couldn't find any other app that sets wallpapers! Even root explorer or Astro points to the Gallery.
Doesn't sound like the gallery app to me. Sounds like those wallpapers are too high of a resolution. When you set it as wallpaper it has to resize which is causing the poor image quality.
Try setting the wallpapers to the resolution of the tab, they'll be good then.
N.B the gallery issue doesn't touch your images, just the way they are displayed in the app
Yes, it's gallery which makes the wallpaper blurry. Try QuickPic, you'll see the difference. Myself, I'm using MultiPic live wallpaper, so I can have different pic for each page.

Now it works. I used a wallpaper chooser/creator app called dodol wallpaper and now my wallpaper is displaying high resolution images.
I don't know why Gallery app is down sizing the quality when setting a selected image as wallpaper, infact, I have no idea how this whole thing works lol.
thank you sooooo much for this thread; i never knew what caused all the wallpapers I set to be so low quality, i just couldn't figure it out and I assumed since no one was talking about it that either it was my tab or that's just the way it was and I'd have to deal with it.
For all of those asking this question i have found a solution. In android market download the free live wallpaper "multi picture" you may find it by simply typing live wallpapers in the search bar. When you go to set the live wallpaper click settings and change the picture source to the the image you desire and set the transition effect to none, then be sure the pic size is set to full screen. This will give you any full image as a solid background with no resize or cropping needed.

I am not sure if it is when you are running stock. I am running tabooney custom rom which is deodexed and has several tweaks including kernel tweaks. It doesnt slow anything on mine. All i can suggest to you is to be sure that transition effects is set to none within the settings menu of the live wallpaper itself.

Nice App
Great Tip
It even puts a different desktop on each screen. I love this app.
Thanks Much
Another way of doing it is with Wallpaper Wizardii:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.twistedapps.wallpaperwizardrii&feature=search_result
The app works only in portrait here but sets the wallpapers just as it should. You can select for the wall to be scrollable or not plus other fine tuning options.
Thanked for the tip, the wallpaper scaling was just downright horrible before

thanks..but think this one belong to themes and apps
Isn't this method actually a live wallpaper that constantly changes the background picture (in this case changes endlessly one and the same picture) and thus leading faster to a battery drain? Thank you for pointing this out, I've read about it somewhere before but haven't tried it yet...

Ive been using it a while now and have noticed no drain. What it is really intended for is allowing you to have a different picture for each of your home screens. It is not one of those slide show apps but instead just allows multiple picture with nice transition effect.

I apologize if this has been addressed before but I'm a little pressed for time right now. Has anyone else had the issue with their wallpaper sizes being different on the home screen and lock screen? As in when you unlock the device it seems as if the wallpaper zooms almost? If so is there a fix for it? I am currently on Apex Launcher if that means anything.
Thanks in advance

Yup mine does that too.
Using Nova Launcher with a PIN lockscreen and wallpaper set from gallery using a photo taken by S4 camera.
Edit: Just tried with different photos and still same resizing change from lockscreen to home screen. No idea why.

Go to playstore and download an app called picspeed. Use that app to set your wallpapers. It wont oversize the pics like the phone system does. So when you pic your wallpapers from gallery and it ask what app to install with click picsoeed. It has 3 box sizes to choose from. The good thing is you can use any wallpaper in your gallery it dont have to be a download from picspeed.
