The ROM wiki seems to be down right now and I was wondering if I can get suggestions for a good stable AOSP Senseless ROM for a clean Android experience.
Is there a repository for Sense Apps and Widgets if I wanted to add a few of them back in or do those have to be baked in?
I would like to see what the Android experience is like without Sense, but mainly I want to be able to use the WiiMote Controller App.
Are there any Sense ROMs with a full bluetooth stack that supports HID?
Thanks

Fresh is working for me. But I am a NOOB and don't have a clue what AOSP means.
Baked Snack is the best ROM hands down for beginners and experts. Herver really knows whats up.

I am running darchstars AOSP2.1 ROM and I have two questions for any enterprising devs, if they have time or can tell me the way to do it.
1)I went from using the stock keyboard to betterkeyboard back to the HTC keyboard. In better keyboard you can adjust the vibration for each keypress to be short, is there a way I can change the HTC keyboard to that as well? I'm not afraid of the command line, but I have no idea where I might start with this.
2)I much prefer the HTC dialer app, with the smart dialing. Is there a way to use that instead of the stock android dialer, or a different dialer replacement that has similar functionality?
Thanks again for any responses!

Basically what you want is Gumbo Bare on 2.1?
I'm also interested in this. I'm playing around with an Odroid running AOSP 2.1, I've gotten google bits to run on it, I found a package that includes the framework etc, and works exactly like it should. Very easy to install.
Finding a similar package for senceUI would be of interest to me.
The ability to take a vanillia AOSP add any flavor I want, google bits, SenceUI, Moto Blur... or anything else would be very nice IMO. Instead of the current... I like this rom because it has.... but I wish it had..... Put it together like lego blocks.

Well, not really. I'm looking for a way to edit the HTC keyboard haptic feedback if there's a way, and to find a replacement dialer for any AOSP ROM since I personally don't like the stock one. The keyboard is a little more important to me, but I was just hoping somebody might know what I'm looking for.

Look through the 2.1 compatible MetaMorph themes.
Hi,
I am currently running cursor sense and though I find its a very stable rom, I really dislike the sense UI. I am wondering if anyone can share their thoughts on a non sense UI using the new radio?
Thanks
Djs
I loved Cursorsenses Rom but I also hated senseui. Tried stuff like MarsDroid but way too many bugs. I just went back to the old radio.
Although I wish I gave this a try. Disable SenseUI and just try using it normally. I alrdy switched back so I didn't try it...
so i love the new darkstone build and want to use it as my primary but i really really dont like the sense keyboard. i was wondering if it would be possible to change this to Darkstones original android builds keyboard?
anyone?

I am not sure if you can switch to default or anything, but there are heaps of sms apps on the market, a couple of which are pretty good - once installed you can make it the 'default' app, disable notifications in the htc version and away you go.
Using the stock keyboard
I'm not sure what the old keyboard you were looking for looks like, but I was successful at adding the stock keyboard (with voice input) back as noted in my recent post in the thread titled "Froyo 2.2 Keyboard APK" (post 20).
Sense was was a great improvement for WinMo, but the UI kind of sucks (imho) for Android. I upgraded to the FroyoStone update the other day and it seemed more stable (less SoD, that's for sure). But the HTC junk scattered across the UI ruined it for me.
the darkstone thread has a link for the apk of the kb youre looking for. search don't ask they'll bite your head off
Has anyone had any luck getting the Wiimote Controller app to work on a Sense ROM on the HD2?
From reading I have found that there is an issue with the HTC bluetooth stack that is present on Sense ROM's that is incompatible with the app. I never found a resolution and am assuming that no one has found a way around it or to fix it.
Is it possible to take the bluetooth stack from a non-Sense ROM and have it run on a Sense ROM? May be a stupid question but I just don't know...
I would THINK this is possible, just because there are so many other workarounds that these developers create. However, the fact that it has NOT happened yet tells me that it is likely impossible - or would take too much time/effort and nobody feels the need to do it.
Anyone?
Hey All,
Looking for the fastest Sense ROM for the HD2. I have to use the sense ROMs because of the need for ActiveSync Encryption. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Frankenstine v1.2 based on the incredible s, fastest sense build I've used, make sure you read the instructions carefully as you should no matter what you try to flash
thankssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss I will try it

speed is a relative thing. you may have to try a variety of flavours to see which one suits YOUR needs
Speed is relative?
I though that linpack was a good indicator of speed?
When I refer to speed, I mean applications loading / UI flow from window to window, or desktop to desktop, etc.
Non-Sense (I never get tired of that) ROMs have tended to be faster, from trying out the different ROMs (HyperdroidGBX, Hyperdroid CM7, Typhoon CyanogenMod, etc)
I'm not as concerned about WIFI or 3G speed.
I hadn't tried Frankenstein ... are you sure that this has ActiveSync Encryption? I tried the new imilka's Ginger Sense ROM, but because the ROM is really a build of gingerbread without ActiveSync Encryption, with Sense on top of it, it isn't 'truely' a Sense ROM with the usual ActiveSync Encryption included.
Thanks!
Great link!

I was aware of this link before, but didn't really know you could quickly filter and that the 'base' of the ROM for most for most of the ROMs is listed. This is all very useful information that sometimes doesn't translate to the thread.
I think I will be trying both:
Frankinstine Droid S V1.2, and
RAFDROID HD GINGERBREAD v1.0.4 (even though the camera still doesn't work)
If anyone still has an opinion as to the fastest Sense ROM (or ROM with ActiveSync Encryption), please let me know!
