Dead XPERIA X2 - XPERIA X2 General

Hi, I bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 and decided to update the firmware through SE Update Suite. In the middle of firmware update, the computer BSoDed on me. The phone went dead and the PC did not detect it any more (Unknown USB device in device manager).
Eventually I managed to detect the phone by SEUS (on another machine); now I have a "COMXX SSE X2 Software DOWNLOAD" in device manager. I follow the instructions in SEUS to update the firmware, press and hold Vol Down + Power buttons. The phone vibrates and device manager shows "COMXX SE X2 Software DOWNLOAD", but SEUS does not update the phone.
What can I do to recover the phone?

You have to do it through SEUS.

don't worry
this happened to me too. heres what you do read all the steps before you do it
first go ahead and charge you phone just plug it into the wall then follow these directions
1.) start suess and continue like you normally would
2.) remove your battery cover and leave it off
2.) when you get to the step that asks you to plug in your phone, connect your phone via usb to you computer, then hold the down volume button + the power button + while you are holding these buttons push the soft restart button* do this all at once and do not let go of any of the buttons until you see the white screen with the sony ericson logo and it should update like normal.
*to get to the soft restart look at the back of the phone with the battery cover off, now pull out the stylus right there next to you camera where you stylus came out is a little button push it with your stylus.
this worked for me when i thought i bricked my phone and it worked, so good luck and tell me how it works out

doesn't wurk, device unknown maybe you didn't brick your phone, that's why it was still booting to logo screen...
I noticed that "COMXX SSE X2 Software DOWNLOAD" device appears in Device manager when the Volume UP is pressed on boot instead of Volume DOWN.
One more thing... There is a useful piece of software out there called QPST (Qualcomm Phone Service Tool). When I have the phone in download mode it detects the device (since it's Qualcomm platform, pretty much like ZTE 3G modems). But I don't have loaders or software to flash the phone baseband from QPST. Maybe if someone can parse the firmware available on the Net and extract the said loaders and software, then I could flash the Baseband and get the phone detected by SEUS to continue flashing Windows part. Unfortunately, decrypting the firmware is way beyond my knowledge. Anyone more knowledgeable on this subject?

First of all: Charge your phone for at least 2 hours from wall charger. I have experienced that it does not charge from USB always, especially when in update mode.
Please try this if you have only charged from USB previously.

Thanks for your advice, but I am aware that phones don't always get full charge with damaged firmware. That is why I took the battery out and charged it fully with a special charger for batteries.

Need help
Can anybody help? - Problem is that i cant "push" my phone to go to bootloader (tried soft-reset, vol down+shut down..nothing helps), so it i cant update via SEUS. And after trying to instal manualy R3 cab's, "Clear phone memory" is gone - now i even can't reset my phone.
Anybody, please help.

what i think you trying to do is boot the rom from the sd card is that right? if you are, it won't work because you need a alternative bootloader or a hard-spl which the x2 doesn't have... yet. thats why we HAVE to use SUES. if you can't get your computer to recognize your phone even after charging it in you special charger and forcing it into bootloader via SUESS (the option i pitched earlier) your best bet is to contact Sony Ericsson or who ever you bought it from and tell them they sold you a faulty device and they HAVE to replace it. if you get the opportunity to talk to them on the phone be firm and don't ever place fault on yourself and push that they sold you a broken device, hopefully they will send you a new one. i'm sorry i couldn't help. At this time my knowledge in Winmo is ignorant at best. good luck

anyone know how to help?? i also have this problem.... ><
Down volume button + the power button doesn't have the logo of SE..
and the SEUS can't detect my x2... wanna cry//

Hi!
Do exactly like this:
1 Charge the battery with the wall charger to at least 50.
2 Remove all cables connected to X2. This is important!
3 Remove and re-insert battery.
4 Push and hold volume down.
5 While still holding volume down, push and hold Power at the same time.
6 Hold until SE logo on white background appears, then release both buttons.
7 Now connect USB cable.
Be careful to follow this exactly or it will not work!

I have same problem in my phone , during update with SEUS computer hang and now
my phone shows only vibrate.
i have tried volume down+power+reset
but it can't go to white screen or sonyericsson logo.

Or You might need go to " C " drive - Progam files _ sony Ericson than remove any SEUS in that folder befor you go to inStall new F/Ware up date , everytime you want to reflash new SEUS you have to remove the last time F/Ware evenly that is the same one SEUS .than you go on for update new F/Ware SEUS to your phone .

Here is the support site for US. SE has a dedicated Nr and mail for x2.

this is normal just continue to download mode as normal.

you can save your device through odin, plug your phone in to your computer and try to go into download mode may take a couple tries, and flash the stock ROM you can find on these forums
i have already tried the sequence to get it into download mode... it doesnt work... tried adb and nothing registers....
anymore ideas? looks like im going to have to do a warranty exchange.
The only way I can reliably get to download mode is: power off, remove battery, replace battery, hold both vol buttons, plug in usb. works every time though.

are you using a .pit file? and if so is it the right 512 .pit file?
if both those are yes, delete the one on your system and re-download it.
I had this same exact problem a few weeks back Odin would hang on the pit file, just redownloaded and it worked like a charm.
and just a quick reminder of everything out for the Vibrant right now
Only stock firmware use the 'PDA' option a pit file, and re-partition
froyo firmware use the 'PDA' option and a pit file, no re-partition
JACs kernels use the 'CSC' option and no pit file, no-repartition
i have a Bell Vibrant and all the methods don't work. i tried the 3 button (remove batt, place in batt, plug USB, wait for the the ''star" to appear, hold VOL+/- and POWER and wait for the screen to turn off, release POWER, but it just goes back to recharging screen. tried it 40 times
tried the power off, remove battery, replace battery, hold both vol buttons, plug in usb. no go as well.
ANything else? I'm stuck at the boot screen (the 'S' glowing part).
This is what always works for me.
Unplug your USB from your phone
Makes sure ODIN is ready to go on your PC
Hold down the Down Volume and Power until the download screen comes on
Then plug your USB back into the phone
fire up odin
pull your battery
connect phone to pc WITH THE BATTERY OUT
hold volume up+down and power
put battery in while still holding those buttons
the screen will light up with....something. Wait for the screen to blink and then release the buttons.
You are now in download mode!
i will try those methods. Thanks.
crap, still no. just keeps showing the battery charging. i remember rescuing my htc magic so many times, but no go on this guy.....
Odin all fired up when doing this......

Did you make sure that the USB was unplugged when you used my method of holding down the volume down button and power button together until the download screen came up?
If you are familiar with ADB. You can also power your phone on and then plug in the USB and then type in the command line:
adb reboot download
to get it to reboot into download mode.
You can also use this command from the recovery console if you are able to get to it.

Dude, the Vibrant is new to us all. None like it. So dev wise its harder to explain and understand when we are used to coming from a one press method, now were using Odin, and Thor's hammer to flash our phones, which is god awful, no pun intended.
Dont flame your fellow Vibrant user cause he doesent understand the 613 steps it involves, and every other way to do so. Help the kid.
I am also in this position, just using a finger in the socket method, if its on it'l shock me, know what i mean. Just try it all. I have a feeling its getting harder and harder to brick phones because the manufacture is not retarded, they fix them right back, and ship them back out to customers who need replacements. I know this as a friend works at an AT&T shipping warehouse.
So cant we all just hit a bong, or get a long? And help?
If someone could explain all this 512PIT, PDA, and CSC, and Phone. It would help so much, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Just sayin.

Yeah man, i'll try it again!! And when do I start typing (sending out the adb command) when the power turns on? Thanks.
Question is: when i press power+vol Down, the boot splashscreen comes on (Galaxy S etc etc).....
I am sorry you have a Bell Vibrant, it is a little different than my phone. I found this hope this helps
HOWTO GET INTO DOWNLOAD-MODE:
- Turn off your Phone
- Hold VOLUME DOWN + HOME Buttons
- While holding VOLUME DOWN + HOME Buttons press POWER Button until you reach Download-Mode
- Release all Buttons
I also read that some of the Bell Vibrants had their Download/Recovery mode disabled.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754673&highlight=bell
As far as the adb command I would start as soon as it powers on. It will say "error:device not found" at first, but just keep on hitting arrow up and hitting the enter in the command window until it accepts the command.
Good Luck

X10 Flash Mode for gingerbread(troubleshoot)

This is just a method to get into Flash Mode while X10 is off
After multiple attempts trying to flash the 3.01 kernel baseband while phone is off, i realised that an easier way to do it would be to
1. Take out battery first, have cable connected to x10 only
2. Start flash tool and flash the kernel, which should start saying preparing files for flashing, search Xperia...
3. Hold the back button now with left hand
4. Plug in other side of the USB cable to the computer with right hand
5. Insert battery into X10 with right hand
File should begin flashing now. Just hoping that this post would help all the others uncertain on how to enter flash mode while the phone is off.
Thanks for guide.. i did already )
I don't understand why it is such a big problem for some people to put the X10 into flashmode. You just have to know, that after some seconds when there is no data incomin in flashmode, the X10 starts normal.
So just connect the phone with pressed back-key when flashtool, SEUS or any other software asks you to do that.
lol, i just wanted to help all those that had difficulty such as me.. no hard feelings haha just rooted and upgraded to gingerbread, awesome compared to 2.1
Works like a charm

thanks for OP. though the title really should be X10 Flash Mode Trouble Shoot or something. I've been doing this ever since i began flashing my phone.
Here are my method
1. Turn off the phone at least for 30 sec, connect USB cable to x10
2. Start flash tool and flash the kernel, which should start saying preparing files for flashing, search Xperia... (not yet try in flash tool but on SEUS and PC companion)
3. Hold the back button now with right hand (I hold the phone with whole palm and my thumb press and hold back button)
4. Plug in other side of the USB cable to the computer with left hand cause my ATX casing(CPU) locate on my left hand-site.
5. After detected, release the back button and carefully place X10 on the table.
thank you for the Quik GUide

[Q] phone wont connect to seus or pc companion

my verizon xperia is not recognized by either pc companion or seus. I am trying to do a hard reset due to the fact the lockscreen doesnt work. I have read that I can press and hold the back and search keys on front while powering on to factory reset the phone, however that does not seem to be the case. Can anyone give me some suggestions if the two button factory reset does work and that maybe I am just doing it wrong. And any suggestions as to how to get my phone to connect with seus so I can reset if teh 2 button trick is indeed not an option. Thank you to all in advance.
Doesnt anyone have an idea? I follow seus instructions. Power off wait 30 seconds, then plug in the usb cord to the pc, then press and hold the back button then inserting the usb cable into the phone... and then I wait for it to connect which it doesnt.
Please more informations.

Are you sure that you have all drivers installed for Zeus mode?
plz Check that out in your systeminformations / hardware / SEMC Flash device
this must be installed. Maybe google this and downlodet this driver.
wait for reply
When i press the back button the light is still blue. I will google the drivers you mentioned. The only drivers I hae installed so far are the s1fastboot. What is ZUES? Thank you again
you will repair your phone with sony pc-companion right?
This works only in SEMC / ZEUS mode. The Led is than still green.
in the moment you are in fastboot mode.
then you holding the "SEARCH" botton and plugged your device the Led is blue.
You are in the wrong mode^^
Please holding the BACK botton, not the SEARCH botton.
sorry my english is bad i hope you can understand me
I want to repair it with the Sony update software if possible. However no matter what I do the phones light is blue, and pressing the back button does not change it to green. Also as I am not able to go beyond the lockscreen I am unable to enter into the phones settings.... I tried to do a search for the drivers you mentioned but I am still not able to find anything... the only drivers I have installed are the S1Fastboot drivers..
thats bad that you can´t go in SEMC Mode.
Please look in the developers area of the xperia play. search the topic to unlock your bootloader.
Unlock it and use the fastbootmode to recover your device.
Ok, I will start looking there. Thank you for your assistance blizzrar, I really appreciate your feedback and guidance

From my experience with p500 (optimus one) 9% battery it more then enough for flash an kernel ... but it seems that 9% was not for real (first version of custom kernel has problem with battery status). Anyway ... after I downloaded the new kernel (v4), from reboot menu (cm10) I gave the reboot recovery command ... "Rebooting now" ... and ... instead of recovery mode, the phone was powered off. So I never got to flash ... Now it's dead, does nothing ... No power (with or without battery and the power cord plugged in), no recovery mode, no emergency mode, no charging.
I used original charger (0,75 A), after that an Samsung charger (1 A), after that an Logitech charger (1.5A).
I tryed to charge with my laptop from USB 2.0 port and 3.0 port, and with my desktop computer ( USB 2.0, 3.0 )... All I've got is THE BIG NOTHING.

damn i want cm10 too, bet im to scared with bootloader unlocking etc after reading posts...
Its happend to me too and i found a way to get out there
Tip: NEXT TIME DO NOT INSTALL ANY KERNEL!!!
This is the solution:
1. Download LG Optimus L7 USB Driver for Windows | Mac
Download official LG Optimus L7 stock firmware from this page. The file would be a .kdz file. Download the appropriate firmware according to your network provider and country.
3. Download KDZ updater and install it on your computer.
4.The zip file has a Microsoft XML parser, make sure you run it as an administrator and restart your PC. This will solve the wparam 100 and lparam 6 issue mentioned in a comment below.
5.The next step is to put your phone into emergency mode. To do this, remove the battery of your phone and re-insert it (don’t turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and Volume Down button. While you are pressing the two buttons, press the Power button. So now, you must be pressing all three buttons together. See this video
6.Your phone will boot into emergency mode and you should see a yellow screen with Emergency mode written on it.
7.Pick up the USB Cable and connect your phone to the computer via the USB Cable.
8.Run KDZ updater as Administrator.
9.Choose the following options in KDZ Updater: Type: 3GQCT Phone Mode: DIAG and KDZ file is the one you downloaded in step 3.
*image:
http://www.hackmyandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Root-LG-P350-LG-Update.png
10.Re-check with the image above and ensure that you have the appropriate settings on the KDZ updater.
11.Take a deep breath and click on “Launch Software Update” button.
12.This process is usually long. It take quite a long time for the firmware to be flashed on your phone.
13.If everything goes well, you will see “Finished” written in the log screen and your phone will change to switched off mode from Emergency mode.
14.The next time you turn it on, your phone will take a lot of time to reboot. Stay Cool! its normal.

Try hard reset :
1. When the phone is switched off, press and hold the Volume down key + Power key with your left hand.
2. When the LED on the bottom of the phone lights up, touch and hold the Menu key with your right hand. You need to do this immediately, before the screen displays the LG logo. Make sure your left hand is still holding the Volume down and Power keys.
Then release the power key at vibration time.
3. When the LG logo is displayed on the screen, continue to hold the keys for around 2 seconds, and then release all
them at the same time, before the LG logo disappears.
Leave your phone for at least a minute while the hard reset is carried out. You will then be able to switch your phone back on.
Caution: If you perform a hard reset, all user applications and user data will be deleted. This cannot be reversed.

Redmi 2 pro super bricked, help me!

last night I was playing with my redmi 2 pro and bricked it. What I did with was idiotic. I will describe the incident in depth.
My mobile was running on miui 8 6.7.21(lollipop) but I was having some issue with it, so I wanted to use a custom rom named XOSP. I know that this rom doesn’t work on lollipop bootloader but still I flashed the rom and obvious result is I got boot loop. I could still have fixed that just by flashing fastboot rom but instead of doing that I boot my mobile into fastboot mode and flash the emmc_appsboot.mbn via cmd with fastboot command then I reboot the device. now my device keeps vibrating, I mean if I try to power on my device by pressing and holding power button it starts vibrating in a loop. If I hold volume down and power button it vibrates 13 times, then stops for 1 or 2 second, in this pause if release power button and volume button phone stops vibrating. By the way no led light up or no light in display.
I have connected the mobile with pc but nothing happend, even I can’t find my device in device manager. I have all the drivers and mi flashtool installed and Driver Signature Verification
is disabled in my pc. I have tried to connect the device with battery without battery with volume button pressed but nothing happens. I even tried the resurrection method by connecting to point with wire but still nothing happens it.
Bro this is my only mobile and there is no xiaomi customer care in this country you are the only hope. I can’t buy another device within 7-8 months, so please help me to bring the device back.
