ok just a quick one.
i got my touch today in the post and the first thing i did was flash onyx ultimate rom..all went well or so i thought.
its been fine till i started playing with settings. i tried to set a voice to rotate the screen then i can get full qwerty without having to press the rotate screen key.
since then the speaker stopped working. i no longer get any ring tones or anything from the external speaker at the back..the earpiece speaker is fine but the external rear one used for playing audio and ringtones and oud speaker stopped functioning.
i then decided to try 6.5 to see if that helped but still nothing from the speaker at the rear. it seems to be a perm setting. is there a button on the phone that mutes but doesnt show as muted..volumes are full but still no sound.
or is there a hard reset within onyx that will load all the defualts
for me hard reset was the solution
like there was no sound while playin some midi tones.
& no support for jpeg files
so i done a hard reset & everything again fine

Hello there...i have a problem with my ppc speaker (the speaker that is next to camera...you know). After some working hours my speaker goes crazy. When i try to play a mp3 or the phone rings then my speaker sounds like the music is amplified and speaker cannot play it at normal quality. It sounds like the bass is too high for the speaker! If i soft reset the phone then everything is back to normal for a few hours....then it does the same again....Any solutions?
P.S Sorry for my english.
Same problem...my speakers are mute for some seconds ( in a random way ) during calls in live-voice or skype calls...loudness goes higher and quality decreases before...any suggestion?
I found the cause of this problem....It works fine until i turn on the speaker during a call. After that it needs a soft reset to come back to normal.I think that it is a soft update issue.
Today afternoon around 3.30pm i got a call and so lifted the phone accidentally my wizard fell down and the qwerty came out(just slid down) not came out of the phone itself....got shocked...turned on the phone which came on back...there was no sound from the speakers and i cant speak or listen to wat the caller says when i'm on call...so played a song through htc audio manager and was adjusting the phone to various positions ...the volume did come but got cut often...so felt very sad and opened the wizard service manual to see wat can be done all this while the audio manager was playing a song which i wasnt able to hear...suddenly to my amazement i got volume and everything worked fine...ANY IDEA WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM...
Lose contact maybe!?
Hey Guys,
I have a unrooted nexus 7 which has been working fine until a month ago... It started with the power button no longer responding which somehow corrected it self. That sameday I'm watching a you tube video and the speaker buzzed for a second locking up the video, so I had to replay the video and suddenly had no sound... I played around with all the volume controls in the settings and had no success however the volume control for alarm and notification alarm did play a test sound when I moved the bar but did not increase in volume or decrease just remained at the same soft level no matter where I placed my finger on the control bar. But the headphones still work.
So I did a factory reset and it had no effect. I left the device off for a few hours and turned it back on and the audio came back like new, but after 15 to 20 mins it goes right back to the same problem I had since I watched the you tube video... No one else seems to be experiencing this so I think the speaker or something in the hardware has failed... I'll probably RMA but if any one has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
Thanks
I think you are correct about the hardware problem. When it's an hardware issue nothings better than RMA.
It was just splash of water but after that my screen dint act properly, so i thought I should restart it. At first power button dint work so i removed the battery and shut down the phone. After a while when I put my phone in charging button worked properly but the speakers dint work at all, even when I tried to play music it dint play(the time and seek bar even was not moving). I did factory reset but the same. when i restart the phone the power on sound comes but thats it no other sound not even ringtone or sound in the earpiece even the mic is not working. Can anyone help?
It started two days ago when I placed a call and my phone didn't turn off the screen when it was near to my ear (proximity sensor thing). Next, the earpiece (upper speaker) didn't have any sound at all. I switched to loudspeaker and it did gave out sound perfectly. Later I tried playing songs, videos and none of the media had sound from the speakers while playing them.
However, when I plug in the headphones, the sound is perfect via them. Also when I plug in the headphone, the volume panel appears automatically and lowers down the volume instantly like someone was pressing the volume down button as soon as the headphone was plugged in.
I tried clearing cache, factory reset too. Even after factory reset it didn't work out but after some 2-3 hours it was all fine again for next 2-3 hours and then again no sound as before. The saddest part is my warranty is over just 1 day ago. So if anyone could help, it would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
Edit: Just found out the headphone icon is displayed even though I have no headphones plugged in. What I could make is it's a issue related to the headphone jack. I maybe wrong though. If someone has faced this earlier please shred some information.
