cannot find one or more components - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

I just recently upgraded from windows mobile 6.1 to windows mobile 6.5 on a htc touch dual (neon 300). Everything is great so far, but i have a couple problems i noticed since then and i was hoping someone here might have the knowledge to help me out.
1) First thing, was when i tried to enter the cube or whatever its called by gliding my finger from the bottom of the screen up, the error "" comes up, and i have to press the middle button to get it to go away and be able to use the touch screen again.
2) Second thing i noticed, was I installed a chinese input keyboard, but it will not let me change the keyboard to the chinese one. when i click on it to change it, it just goes back to the regular english keyboard automatically. I tried to change it in settings personal, input, but it when i exit, it just goes back to the regular keyboard. for some reason, it actually worked one time and the main keyboard was the chinese one, but then i changed it back because i wanted to just be able to change to the chinese keyboard, not have it as my main keyboard, now it won't work again.
3) So I searched around, found a program called SIPchange, installed it. didn't work. when i restarted my phone, the error "" came up, so i'm figuring there must be some problem related to all of this.
I did a lot of searching and couldn't find anything helpfull. I got a new biotouch.exe file that was supposed to replace my old biotouch, but there is no biotouch.exe file in my phones memory (and i turned on show all files including system files)
I would be greatly appreciative of any sort of help, thank you very much!

VJBigPhone, T-Mobile Videobutton on MDAPro

Hi all,
I am aware about all the other threads but yet could not get across some nonsense on my MDA Pro.
I went back to the t-Mobile ROM because of german support on many features but running ozVGA now successfully with two exceptions:
1. Each time I reset the device, I have to reinstall vjbigphone (0.91) and re-run the .exe to get my dialer back to full screen. VJ did a real got job, but I hope anyone coud tell me, what could be wrong?
2. Does anyone know, how to get rid of the stupid and ugly video-button in the t-mobile dialer? I replaced all BMPs with the one's from iMate, but yet video is the stupid grey. flat button.
Once this is solved, I will write down exactly how to get really the tiny machine running with the best tools for best results.
Greetings

ndee: why do you have to re-install the app?
After a soft reset, what happens when you choose the "load and fix" option from the tray?
I am hoping to spend some time on this app over the next few days. Many apps being fixed, one a at time...
V
Hi Vijay,
when I softreset, everything on the phone is back to the tiny layout. Even though I "load and fix".
Only workaraound I figured out is reinstall :-(
ndee
Strange - I know we spoke about this before, but then, after you re-install it works?
Have you tried not loading VJBigPhone, soft reset, load the phone (eg press green key, so you can see Tiny buttons) and then load VJBigPhone. Does that make any difference? Re-installing shouldn't make any difference, it doesn't load any settings etc from the registry etc...
v
I have some similiar problems. I'm using also the neweset german ROM on my MDA Pro and after a soft reset I don't have to reinstall the app, but I have to close it and restart it again to gain access to the phone application. Without close VJBigPhone nothing happens, after starting the application again everything works fine (till the next soft reset, which happens every morning after the daily backup)
Wolfgang
I have an idea what might be the problem then.
The code was modified a while back to try to find the "phone" program without you having to specify the name in your own language (eg "telefon" instead of "phone"). However, it's possible that if the phone isn't found, it's getting confused. I'll try to look at the code again soon.
I'm not writing any new programs for a while while I do updates to all the old stuff
V
out of sudden, I dont need to reinstall anymore. Just after reset, I run vjbigphoneres and phone comes up full screen. Dont know what I did and how long it will last - keep you informed though - thx so far.
Any solution for the ugly video button of TM insight?
ndee
TM Button: I know you've spoken about it for a while, but I've got no experience of it, I don't really use my Universal I think someone (you?) posted one before, but could you send me a screenshot if you've got appropriate software, and if you have them, a zip of your extended rom?

well since his touch screen doesnt work, how much more crippled can it get if he bypasses the align screen?
but i think you can just use your stylus and push the reset hole. I remember i had a big giant crack on my old MDA phone, so my touch screen was pretty messgaed up. And i was still able to flash it and hard reset it.
I think I either just popped the battery out or I did the pin hole reset.
If you cant pass the Align screen than most likely you are missing the drivers for the touchscreen interface,
If u're flashing ur own rom make sure there is a driver for the touchscreen included
quite simple:
create a file named "welcome.not" (just a empty file!) - copy it to the SD-card - reboot ...
does work on almost every device.
if it doesn't work on herald - try: http://www.codefactory.es/en/products.asp?id=244
(download: http://www.codefactory.es/descargas/family_1/product_3/MSP_RemoteAlignment.zip)
Thank You Baal, I have tried what u said and its worked wonders.....Thank u again
wow
thanks baal...that welcome.not worked like a charm!
It's been over 2 years since this was posted. I've just come across the same problem with my Kaiser and the welcome.not trick still works! Excellent. I love this place.
Well, alternatively you could connect the wing to your computer, using activesync, then browse it using windows explorer, and delete the welcome file from the start up folder
Clipped Wings
Thanks guys... That welcome.not trick worked great!
Yup! "Welcome.not" worked here as well! Had a friend's Herald (T-Mobile "Wing") with a screwed-up touch screen that just wanted to use it as a phone until he can replace the screen, and I needed to do the T-Mobile ROM update on it to get it to make calls properly again. The ROM update triggered the Welcome thing, which started with none other than "Tap screen to set up your Windows Mobile device"! Well I can't tap the screen with a broken digitizer!
I tried removing "welcome.lnk" from \Windows\Startup, but that left the PPC in a horribly malfunctioning half-state, where the Start menu wouldn't appear, and only the Phone functionality worked. Restoring "welcome.lnk" and adding "welcome.not" to the MicroSD card worked perfectly. It brought up the "Welcome" screen but did not say "Tap screen..." - that text was just omitted from the screen, and about 10 seconds later, it took me to the Today screen! Woohoo!
I also found it hard to believe how incredibly usable a PPC is without using the touchscreen...! I installed a game, set up the phone, and played the game, all with the buttons.
I just replaced a screen in a Trinity (Dopod D810). The touchscreen initially wasn't calibrated correctly so I ran the alignment tool in the settings, and after a few attempts, I calibrated it properly and the touchscreen was working perfectly. Now the touchscreen is not working properly. The top half of the screen responds to touch, but no matter where I press in that region, the screen thinks I'm pressing the top-right corner. When I run the alignment again, it responds to all the touchpoints but it never successfully calibrates and it keeps bringing me back to the alignment screen.
The current settings in the registry entry for touch calibration are as follows:
484,558 244,286 263,815 750,820 707,295
I've found a few other threads here (the most helpful being http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355010) and I've tried the settings from that thread. The screen seems more responsive, but still not correct because the bottom half hardly responds and the top half seems to respond when it feels like it.
Can someone please post their D810 touchscreen settings so I can try it? I've tried the settings from my Touch Cruise, but the screen is still doing weird things.
This is a customer's phone so I need to have this fixed ASAP.
I'm thinking that it may be a faulty digitizer, but that won't explain why it worked perfectly when I first calibrated it.
*Edit: Finally got it to work! I just made a bunch of files named welcome.not & I guess one of them worked. Thanks for this valuable information!*

Cannot switch off default Android Keyboard

Hi all,
I have noticed a strange issue with my UK Vodafone HTC Magic (default factory build). I downloaded the slightly better HTC keyboard Touch Input and installed it to my phone. If I go to "Settings" > "Locale & text" I can see the option to turn on the Touch Input, but have no option to turn off the Android Keyboard. Hence, as it stands I cannot use any alternative keyboard (e.g. the HTC one or even Better Keyboard), as I've no means to turn off the default keyboard.
Can any other UK owners confirm that this is the case? Only I have searched all over the place and cannot see any reference to this issue. I am assuming it is a restriction of build to ensure people don't switch off the keyboard in error, rendering the phone useless as it has no hardware one to fall back on. Nonetheless though, it does seem rather odd.
If I am correct and it simply isn't an option, is there anything I can do to enable it short of rooting the phone?
Thanks in advance for your help!
same issue here after installing key
I had the compact keyboard working on the jf 1.51 build on my G1, but not on my Magic.
Yeah this is 100% factory spec - ie as its received out the box from Vodafone. Hence I'm guessing the option has been hidden, which seems pretty daft. I'm assuming I could still do a Force Close on the Android Keyboard to force the issue, but obviously that isn't a long-term fix.
Took me a little while to figure this one out but it doesn't set it as the active keyboard by just enabling it in 'settings'.
You have to go to an input box (eg. compose a text message) and select the text input box using the trackball (hold it down) after a few secs a menu appears allowing you to choose your keyboard.
Funny enough I was just coming in here to say that I'd found the solution, but you beat me to it! The one I found was pressing and holding the "123?" button, which then brought up the option to select the input method. Worked a treat.
Thanks for replying though; had I not stumbled on the answer myself you would have been a lifesaver!
Where we I find the HTC KB, i had a look on another post which suggested a file name .. HTC Chime i think - But googling that yielded nothing - Any clues anyone?
Found out one that works and installs w/o issue.
I downloaded the file called HTC_IME.apk, and this installed, without any issues. Works great, and has Full Size Qwerty, xT9, and Compact Qwerty(like Blackberry Pearl). Do a search on google for HTC IME.apk+android, and install it. Issue resolved!
Big big big thank you to swifty and trickshot!!! I had this working on my G1 and could not get it working on my magic, I was getting so frustrated. You ARE lifesavers!!
great discovery, thank you very much for this discovery, i'm going to install htc_cime again
Thanks, it works for me too
thankz gentlemen. i had searched every forum except this one(the only one im registered to) the keyboard was the only reason i could find to switch back to my samsung epix. that and a call recorder that workz. thankz

My Rain Of Questions. 8 Hardcore questions

Hello,
I'm getting really excited about my HTC P4350 more and more. First I wanted to throw it away but since I started tweaking now 2 months. I got a series of questions.
1) Would it be faster in speed. To native install software like advanced config etc.
2) Where can I find a series of unlock screens?
==> S2U2 "iPhone-like Unlock Screen" = NO GOOD. Makes the HTC Freak
3) Anyone got a series of keyboards to replace the stupid looking standard one. So I can just type on the screen instead of using the pen. 'I installed one previously and it went fubar when i selected it it was just a white screen with no keyboard showing and another one i installed when i pressed the keys nothing happend.
4) Also I've installed "MotoV2Wing6.5" in previous ROM's I could install instantly the "cool" black bars instead of the classic. But with this rom they won't install, any suggestions. Also the blue skin wich is used in menu's "me no like" so I was hoping that could be turned into black.
5) After booting the splash screen and the boot screen there's a white window before the phone starts. Any idea how to get rid off that.
6) Like in windows OS there is the command line : msconfig, to select start up programs is there any way of leaving out programs to get the HTC to start up quicker.
7) The bootscreen and the splash screen. Are they both necessery will the phone be faster if you leave one of them out. And how you do that.
8) I saw on a pic that someone had changed the color of the keyboard is that possible without opening the htc?
9) And one of the most important questions. The keyboard I've download a dutch keyboard fix, since I think that I have a dutch P4350 (I think) but the fn keys are still showing up ****ed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366756). So my keyboard is like this.

That's the first line.
As final statement. I really support this forum, I like it very much it's kind to his users and very helpfull. I really want to stress 2 to respect the "Cooks" because what they do is Pwn Windows in everyway and they always want to build better and faster Rom's and that takes a lot of personal time. And I think what they do is really GREAT. So what I am tryin to say is.
THANKS A LOT!!! <3
Best and kind regards,

as far as your keyboard goes there are 2 options that work fairly well one is imselector it can be found here no pics but you have several options for the type and style keyboard you want, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296455
another option is something that i just started to use and love it, its called fingerboard http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487677
and as far as replacing your splash screen ivan has just posted a topic on this and here it is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487677
your best way to get around is to just read the threads, yeah you may skim through lots of stuff ou may already know, dont understand or dont need but youll learn to navigate around those issues once your more familiar with things, good luck have fun

I got a questions, the first screen is the splash screen or the boot screen?
Answer to 1)The ROM that you have chosen is inherintly slow because of the Moto Home stuff. They tax both the RAM and the processor terribly.
Answer to 2)Just use the lock screen that comes built in with WM6.5. It's simple and just works.
Answer to 5)That white box you see is some kind of error, re-flash to a different ROM or hard reset to make it go away.
Answer to 6)Just navigate using file explorer to ROOT\Windows\Startup and delete whatever you don't want to run at startup there. Please note that there may not be alot here, and most if not all of the HTC stuff NEEDS to run at bootup in order for your device to work.
Answer to 7)Yes, they are both neccesary. If you remove them, all you will see is a black screen for the same amount of time that you saw the splash screens. While these screens are shown, the OS is being loaded into RAM, so its a neccesary thing.
Answer to 8)No, you cannot change the color of your keyboard without taking it out of your device.
Answer to 11)PHM Registry editor. Its small and just works.
boot screen then splash screen

How to disable HTC Sense on HD2?

Can anybody help me to do this to have regular wm interface on my HD2?
Thank you,
Igor
Start -> Settings -> Right Softkey -> More.. -> Today -> Items
Many thanks!
If the usual Settings aren't reachable, in the settings tab of Sense rechter Softkey und dann More.
I need to completely disable Sense without flashing new ROM (I plan to flash custom ROM in 2-3 months, but not now), especially the phone app. I'm using Inesoft Address Book and sometimes it doesn't start and I'm forced to use the default installed crap . It's lovely during the call when you are in hurry and an application you know nothing about is waiting for your commands.
I have the 1.66 WWE stock ROM.
Need to completely disable HD2 user interface
Similar problem. I have the stock HD2 and I would prefer having the WM 6.5 user interface.
Let me clarify, I want the whole HTC HD2 user interface reverted back to WM 6.5 and not only the Today's Screen.
Is that even possible without getting a new ROM.
I have very little experience and time and don't feel comfortable playing around with flashing the ROM and radio.
Thanks in advance.
in the same menu where you uncheck HTC Sense
scroll up and enable Windows Default and soft reset
it uses the default windows applications which i find to actually be quite usable and much faster
Is there a default WM6.5 messaging program? I disabled Sense, but it still uses the HTC Messages program for my texts.
ace07 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556614
As always, there is a catch.
Thanks. This is very helpful. Sense does not set messages as read and causes many extra clicks to get to the right place...
Switch to windows default, the lesser evil one between Sense and Windows.

a soft key refers to the bottom of the screen, there are typically 2-3 "buttons..."
let me explain differently, don't look for a physical button, just look in the bottom right corner of your screen, you'll see the word MORE (once in settings) click it, you've just hit a "soft key"
I have a kumar ROM, I can't find where to disable sense. I need to disable to install the new messaging client. Anyone know where I can find it? It's not in the all settings section.
This is single handedly the best thing I have done to my HD2. This phone has come alive! Thanks for the how-to!
HD2 unresponsive screen want sense removed but how?
Hello all!
Hopefully, I am asking this question at the right place...
I sort of stumbled upon an apparently new (i.e. in excellent condition, no scratches, etc, almost like new) HD2 which will boot but brings me to a non responding touch screen. The hard keys work, I can even receive a phone call BUT I cannot use the touch screen which is unresponsive. Someone at work that I asked told me he just does not have the time to spend trying to fix it for me (even for a fee) but supposedly it is the HTC Sense feature that messes things up. He adviced me to remove sense and try the old fashioned windows look.
I want to try to remove sense but how can I do that when the screen does not work? The phone is recognized and syncs fine when I connect it to my PC using Windows Mobile Device Center. Is there a utility that will allow me from inside my PC's windows to disable "sense" on the HD2?
By reading this thread, it appears that the HD2 works better without it anyway! (and quite frankly I have no idea what sense is or what it is for, some kind of UI maybe?)
Thank you.
if it's software related then do hard reset or flash another ROM
