i really hate the animated wallpaper

I really don't understand why froyo has the animated wallpaper. It's a nice gimmick for a screensaver but it draining the battery like hell. You can put it off but then you have a problem with putting a nice picture up on every screen.
Oogh yess, dell had that one right. Let only dedicated app turn when you really need them in portret mode and let's enjoy our 5 inche screen in landscape.
Damn i really wish someone could figure out how dell did this in 1.6 and put it in a froyo rom.
Google had to make just an dedicated screensaver app for the animated wallpaper, not let it take over my phone and battery.
Microsoft has tried it before with an active desktop.No succes.
any takers?

Don't really understand the problem? You want your live wallpaper turn off? Or you want any wallpaper you set to look correct in both orientations?

Mr Lufc, i want some developers to have a look at this, thats why i posted it there
I don't need wallpaper in portret mode, this device has phone optional.
If i wanted it to be my primairy phone , i bought a smaller screen, so more portable.

Honeycomb boot animation

Has the honeycomb boot animation already been ported to the desire hd?

Wallpaper problem solved!!!!!!

Hey guys was looking around because I know we all have had problems with wallpaper sizes........I think I found the solution ( not sure if it has been mentioned ....just thought I might help) just try using a programme called multipicture live wallpaper that can be downloaded free from the market........ it automatically resizes any pic to fit and also has options to change wallpapers by double tapping and also have different pics on different screens.......hope I would have helped someone out there........enjoy

No not really, i've posted on here about 10 times that 1610x1280 fits perfectly, people disagree and quote blah, then 2 days later they're back here again winging that their wallpaper doesn't fit.

It seems to use Live Wallpaper. Can you make it work with just regular wallpaper?

I created a thread about this over at tabletroms and I also created a png grid overlay that allows you to center images on the screen. Also I have filmed video tutorials over there on how to use these files to create nd center your own wallpapers on honeycomb. enjoy

I've tried this app...it works pretty good but as the other poster said....as long as the resolution is correct...then it's just nice to have and not a necessity.

any 1600x1200 wallpaper or higher will work just fine.
the actual size is 1980x1408

Personally I have no issue with the image scrolling left & right. It does annoy me though that honeycomb zooms the image and moves it up and down when you go into the apps menu or widget menu...

I posted this solution in the original themes and apps thread; it actually looks MUCH better from a clarity standpoint than cropped oversized wallpapers. Of course, if you're centering and resizing you will have identical quality BUT you will not have a giant black bar across the bottom of your screen when you switch to portrait. If you love switching wallpapers and you use high quality SLRs and such this is the only way to go.

Can any one please provide me with simple step by step guide to apply these bootamination for my unrooted HC 3.1 Iconia A500?

removed dropbox link and added Android [GEARS] v.2 as an attachment.
I dropped the bit depth down to 256k which cut out almost half the file size (from 9+mb down to 4+mb) Result = a much faster load with little noticeable difference in quality - (some might notice it but it's barely perceptible for the rest of us)

No. You can use a file explorer with root permission to place the file in /system/media.
You can also try placing it in /data/local.

I was using one of your other boot animations (the Acer A500 Clean) but after seeing the gears, I had to go for it. Completely awesome, and a very easy way to give the old tablet a bit of a personalized touch. Thanks, you rock!
P.S. the extra snazziness scared me, I didn't know if I could handle that much awesomitude at one go, so I went for the V1.

v2 is essentially the same but has a more of a double-pump /heart beat effect with a touch more zip and *does jazz-hands* Pizzazz!
v1 is definitely the 'toned' down version.

Request (apologies OP): Would someone be able to edit a picture for me so I can use it as a wallpaper? It's a very simply logo (hockey team I play for) I want the back ground to be black and the images size/resolution to be correct to use as a wallpaper on my N5. I've tried and when I set it as a wallpaper it is too zoomed in.

I really like Nexus 4 Dot on the Nexus 5 and, as long as you use one colour and slow it down a bit, it's nice and subtle.
Looks great set to white, then you get a nice fully-monochrome lock screen.
