Firstly, i have to ask why would you want to do something like that? it can't be for anything good.
Secondly, no you can't mac address' are individual to any one device, they are all registered and embedded on the controller chip. That is why mac address filtering is so effective and mac address spoofing would be th only way to circumvent it.
So stop being a naughty boy and go chase some girls or something!
eehhmmm sorry,
but i've changed my operating sys from wm 6.5 to android.
and gues what my mac address is now 11:22:33:44:55
so there is a way to change it, eventough it is hard coded.
'm searching for it myself.

That's a completely different thing. The OP is asking how to change it in Windows, and I agree with M3PH, that it's obviously for something naughty.
I'm not saying it's not possible, but I've never heard of it being done in Windows (not EVERYTHING is in the registry!) The only time I've heard of it is with Android builds. Maybe that would be an answer for the OP.

I search and found something called PocketDyndns, however i never able to reach the site, does anyone know other programs can do ???
Since I want to config my firewall will only allow me to telnet in, however GPRS is not a fix IP, so I hope i set my firewall to recognize the xxx.dyndnd.org all i need is to update my IP to the DNS record.
Ever heard of the hidden, hard-to-find, brand-new and useless search machine Google? Here you can click on the second link and voila!
i know this thread is old, but anyone got any better leads i swear i been up and down and thru that list but whatever was the 2nd link isn't available anymore.
Nor does there seem to be much else.
It would be very convenient for the ftp, http, inbound via GPRS people if a ActiveSync/"Internet" aware PocketPC/Windows Mobile Dynamic IP app was available.
Any ideas?
Yup, it seems it has been completely removed from http://www.networkdweebs.com/stuff/dyndns/ . The parent directory, which is visible ( http://www.networkdweebs.com/stuff/ ) doesn't contain it any more.
Therefore, mail the dev at [email protected] and ask them how you can get the app. Please also post a message in here too if you get any positive answer.
I just find that site...

The best part is: when you follow the link, the second result is this thread
Thanks!
It worked on my htc touch pro 2, WinMo 6.5.
Although it can not start with system and minimized to background.

How/What do I enable to see my Touch in Vista Network Map?
EDIT:
I will have to install LLTD Responder on my Touch to do this.
But how?
AFAIK There is no way to do this. Why would you want to? I don't see a point to this..

So that i can see which device is currently connected to my router.
your routers firmware should also offer the ability to see what mac adress's are connected

Hi,
I'm trying to find a way to change the device identification name. I'm using Itje's Touch-It Roms for a while and I don't want to be recognized as "pocket_pc" when friends want to send me files via bluetooth.
I'm sure there is a simple way to individualize the name but I can't find it.
Please?
its the owner of the devices name no?
i was also wondering if there is a way to change just the bluetooth game because i have got games registered to my device name so i cant change the device name otherwise the game doesnt work

You're welcome!
Got a really strange wifi problem. I had android running for a couple days on my HD2, then my brother decided to load android on his HD2, now if we're both have wifi on in android it goes really slow and disconnects all the time.
But if we're in windows its fine.
I even changed all the roms on my phone (WM and Android) but the problem remains.
One phone is running Energy Rom and Clean Sense Android Rom
Second phone is running Artemis and Clean Sense Android Rom
Both phones have the latest Radio
Thanks
Most Android ROMs (if not all) use a hard-coded value for the MAC address for your wifi card, which is how your router identifies each device. Because you're using the same ROM, you're probably using the same MAC address. The problem won't occur if one or both of you are running Windows, since the card's real MAC address will be used.
You can check this by going to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Wi-Fi settings -> Menu -> Advanced and comparing the MAC address of each device.
If you are using the same MAC address then this problem will always occur. Either use different Android builds, or find out how you can change the MAC address. I have seen one build, a while ago, that actually came with instructions on how to set the MAC address, but I think it was specific to that particular build. I don't know if you can do it on any other.
Hope this helps mate.
Thanks mate, Ill have a look.
What a coincidence, I live in Northampton also
As long as you're not trying to use my wifi lol
haha, I wont.
I just checked the MAC addresses were the same.
Ill load a different android build on mine and see if it works.
Thanks again
There's a couple of builds that let you change MAC address in the startup.txt as well.
And I'm just down the road from Northampton lol, small world!
Thanks,
Do you know which builds allow me to do that?
Ive just loaded a different version of android and I get the same MAC address.
Edit: Isit that part that says edit CMDline?
Edit 2: It was that CMDline part.
Thanks for all the help Northamptonshire ftw lol
Just done a (very) quick search and the only build I could find that appear to support it was NexusHD2-FRG83 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793924
But I'm sure I read a couple of others that do from a while ago.
