Hi!
Sorry if this is not the right sub forum. I am trying to look for a program for my trinity wm 6 that can transform our sms system to a chat style ( i.e. iphone like) I have tried pocketcm and threader program.. but they cannot replace the quickness and reliability of the native windows sms program.. can anyone point me to the right direction? thanks before...
SMS Chat Style
Hi,
I use the program shogunmark rip from a treo (I think).
Works great.
Is this any different or better than Codyppc's threaded SMS?
Search on here for IMSMS. You will be amazed what that can do.
WB
IMSMS looks very snazzy. I may have to give that a try! Thanks for the heads up!!

codyppc's doesn't work reliably. Don't know about this one but it probably has the same problems since they were ripped from the same device and hacked to WM6.
Hmm, I had immediate issues with IMSMS and subsequently went back to Codyppc's. Perhaps I should mess around with IMSMS some more, but I really haven't had an issue with Codyppc's app.
Had problem with IMSMS...cannot receive sms at all.
wm6 threaded is better, buthas small bug. When you are typing a message, you cannot see what you are writting, because the keypad cover it up.
Where I can find Codyppc's threaded SMS?

Hi guys.. have tried all the apps above and i find that threaded is actually really good! BUT one thing that's really annoying and almost makes it unussable is that using the trinity when u write a msg in the chat window.. the line's get completely covered with the SIP and you don't know what you're writing... is there a way to hack this program? or has someone did it already? i went back using pocketcm's sms and whenever i send a msg.. have to exit out of pocketcm and back to to windows messaging for the msg to be delivered.. o you guys have the same problems with the two apps? i can't believe that our wm devices can't do iphone style sms without a glitch..
I encountered the same probelm with you bluesky3012......now I just using standard message application.
In personal, I like palm messaging so much...but as bluesky3012' said...it has bug
It isn't a "bug". That is the way it works. It wasnt designed for our phones. It is a RIP from the PALM phone and the Palm phones have a different display method than ours.
so there's no way of having a threaded sms with no glitch in our trinity? so sad.. i'm sticking to pocketcm for now but it tooks up almost 5mb of memory if i just minimize the apps..

Actually, it has lots of other bugs. So unreliable when sending and receiving.

I dont recall the text field being covered when I used my Mogul and wanted to send a quick message without using the slide out keyboard.

I only had one issue using the threaded sms app on a device it was built for (700wx) and that was with duplicate messages being sent out. A fix was released, but it wasn't directly related to the threaded sms application.
Now that it has been ported to other WM5/WM6 devices, some have encountered issues which isn't surprising considering how much hacking Palm did with the OS in the Treos.
I use the WM6 version pulled from a WM6 Treo 750 on my Mogul and I don't personally have any issues with it. I do know that others do though.

Might wanna remove your attachment. XDA has a zero tolerance policy on WAREZ and it will get you banned real fast...
Here is a great cab I used back when I was on wm6.
It was developed by Triangle powers before they got shut down( or whatever happened to them).
Enjoy,

The phone itself it perfectly capable of it, it's Telus (and Bell?) that have the function disabled on the network for smart phones. Really Lame.
Hi! I am an iPhone convert to the HTC Hero on Sprint. Couldn't handle the crappy call quality and network with AT&T...that being said, I'm new to Android.
I followed Regaw's thread to root my Hero shortly after getting home. I am rooted. I am having issues with the standard Keyboard and decided to download some new ones to try out. While in the menu I can see the new keyboards and select them but they don't show up in any application when typing. I grabbed my brother's Moto Droid and he has an option to deselect the Android keyboard, he is also rooted and running a different ROM so I attributed it to that. After about two hours of searching and a six pack...I need help.
Please tell me I'm just an idiot and missed something really stupid...
Thanks in advance for the help!
Maybe in the input field, ie sms form, press long and chose 'input method', then your keyboard/IME?
and there we have it...i'm just an idiot.
THanks for the quick reply! Still getting used to the whole Android feel, but I'm glad I got away from the iPhone....too brainwashy for me (as I type this from my iPad) lol
THanks again!
Don't worry about it. I only know it because I had exactly the same problem when getting used to my Legend. Lol. Talk about intuitive software design. ;-)
Still one of the best gadgets I ever owned. I'm loving it. ;-)
Hello all, this is my first post. I have an HTC HD2 and am looking for something that i can customize my text alerts with...so that each of my contacts has their own alert. I've been told Ringo does that...but i feel that i should'nt have to pay for something the phone should already do. So,any suggestions? Thank you...

I really hate to say this but it is gonna take a 3rd party app to do this. I used to use inboxtones but have not used it in a while.
I wish there was a free app also. I came from a G1 and had Ringo, which was free. I did break down and pay for Ringo for my HD2 and it works great. Good luck.
thanks for the help guys. i'll try and find inboxtones. is there a way to try ringo out before you buy? thanks
Another option is phonealarm. Pretty expensive though but can do much more, e.g. customized tones for sms/email per person/group, repeating alarms, profile w/ auto-switching, etc.
So, I had this awesome phone call recording software on my Touch Pro 2.. Recorded every call I made and converted it to MP3.. I used it multiple times...
1.) in proving to warranty techs that I had followed the guidelines I had been told on the phone
2.) when I stopped paying attention to what my girl was saying, i could always review what she had been screaming at me about later.
3.) If I was getting info, I would never need to write it down, as I could always just playback the call later and get the address/contact info/etc.
So, now I actually need to pay attention to what my girl is saying and carry a pen with me and have gotten screwed already by a technician... and I am not happy...
I saw that there is software already out for HTC: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/record-phone-calls-on-your-hero/
Is there anything like this for the Epic?

You might have a look at this.
EDIT: But I'm with you - that was a great feature of Windows Mobile. As I recall, EnergyROM on my Fuze had it built in to the dialer.
I am also interested to know!

It has to use Google Voice (which I dont use) and only does incoming calls. When I am calling support lines, its an outgoing call for me.. so this doesnt work.. but thanks.
