i had the same issue a couple days ago. i only found one solution to it on my nexus, and its odd. apparently when you go into settings, applications, application settings, you dont have access to the maps cache like on the g1. so i found another way. only through an app called quick system info was i able to access the application info. there i pressed an uninstall update button, then came back and cleared data. since then its been working fine. i still dont get what update i uninstalled because its the same exact maps i had before.

i know, sometimes you find strange solutions to strange problems!
As Many of you have received 2.1 on there phone its high time that we should give some pros and cons of it. Inshort the After Effects Of 2.1 On X10i.

have a UK X10i. but after using the nordic firmware to get 2.1 i can no longer use the market. i think i can download purchased apps, but i cannot download free apps. whats going on?

Mine's fine, as I used it to restore my market apps for the backup and restore application, and it seems to have updated to the froyo-look too.
Market is fine with me and please keep your battery out for 30 seconds if you are facing any LAG!!
Feel prety lagy compered with 1.6...and the same problems with market....i managet to download Quadrant only and the score is only 538...prety litle
Market works fine here too. All I want is to get it rooted though, but non of the known methods work.

My market stopped working in 1.6 but I was able to fix it by uninstalling the market app from the program settings. But not I can only find "Supernytt" inte the program list.

Click the left button then a Popup should come up and then click Filter (right) then you can choose what it should list.
My X10 work fine and i can download apps via Market.

Tried and failed, it just hangs with "waiting for device".
you have to change the 3 files with adb in the folder to the ones that u used with the x10 sdk..
also make sure ur x10 drivers r updated...
So, can you guys with 2.1 describe the "feel"?
Is it like more fluently to work on X10 or is it laggy as someone said? I hoped with 2.1 all lags would dissappear, like when unlocking, opening mediascape, etc..
10X more fluid from the hour and a half I have spent with it.
With 2.1, X10 feels more "smooth", however we still have our fps capped at 32. What's more, SMS Popup's LED blink option does not work D:
And yeah, it might feel "laggier than 1.6" as long as you won't free up some RAM

Here is how to fix the market
You go into the Talk application and press the button with four boxes and press more. Click Sign out and restart the downloads
Someone has solution for rooting now on 2.1 ? Also,im from bulgaria, market works fine for me.

How does a market update work?
I mean, how do you get it... OTA? Open Market? Clear Market Data/Cache?
my friend is right next to me and he has the same exact phone (N1 2.2.1 on Fido) but the only difference is I rooted mine (rageagainstthecage) ... both have stock ROM
Well his market somehow updated itself this morning.... anything special I gotta do?
It just does it itself when it feels like it, seems to happen when downloading something from the Market. or you can just search for and download the new .apk, v2.2.7 is the latest.

Rusty, do you have to do a special procedure to install it or clearing cache/dalvik cache and replacing the apk in /system/app does the job?
Cause I installed 2.2.7 yesterday on latest CM nightly by doing what I said. It worked perfectly the first time, I could go in My Apps and browse everything smoothly. But, as soon as I installed an app, just when it finished installing, it crashed and I could never boot the market again. Although, the app itself installed fine =\
Just install it like any other app. It will work in /system/app or /data/app (where it would normally be if stock).

Really odd that mine crashes, it would NOT install normally, it gave me "Installation failed" error.
Perhaps you could point me to the exact file you used?

Also, aren't there supposed to be 5 sections in the market now? (wallpapers / widgets sections?)
They've mentioned it, but doesn't seem to be implemented yet.

They're in the 2.2.7 market that came out last week. Looking at them on my phone right now.
Maybe it's another US only thing for now or something, I've still only got "Apps", "Games" and "My apps" showing up.
Reporting back: Still doesn't work.
This really sucks, I can't understand why it would work on some people's phones by getting updated automatically and not on mine by updating manually... >_>

ahhh when they said "adding 2 categories" I thought they meant Games - Apps - Wallpapers - Widgets - My Apps
Live Wallpapers and Widgets are both found under "Apps" ... they meant THAT category...

Is anyone else finding the new market a bit slow and buggy? Even on Wifi I tend to get the loading screen quite often. Also I've been having server errors for last two days whenever I try to go to "my apps" (my downloads).

Yeah it's getting pushed to phones, but I don't know if it gets pushed to phones running custom ROMs...

Ok, so this was announced earlier today and I saw it and thought "meh". I had a browse about and still thought "meh", but then I discovered the fact that I can install apps on my phone directly from the browser.
When I first tried it, it didn't work, but every other app after that was installing on my phone within seconds of my clicking the install button. So basically, I can install apps on my phone from any internet ready computer.
Thanks Google. You just made something sweet a little sweeter!

Yes mate. I am genuinely surprised at how seamless it is. I had my phone in front of the screen and clicked "install" and it immediately started downloading on my phone. It's a VERY nice feature!

make sure you setup your gmail account on the phone and access the market then exit, then it will work. I had the same issue until I did that, cause the FAQ says that will happen if you havent visited market recently.
Now this is cool, utterly great find, no more market on the phone.
BTW, you dont have to access market with https, you can access the same page without the cert error using http.

Check under My market account and then go to the tab "settings" see if your phone appears there, make model carrier. cause both my HD2's show up, there. also on that same screen on the top right there is a link "dont see your device" might be of help to your situation.

Great stuff is this!
I can't get apps to download to my device. When in my PC browser, I am logged into market, can see my device in the pull down menu and it says it will be installed onto my device shortly, but nothing happens. I tried rebooting, logging out of Talk and back in, downloading the app directly from the market android app (which works, but doesn't solve the app delivery via browser), and also trying downloading from my android browser. No luck. Anyone have any ideas?
EDIT: Nevermind. Flashed pongster's latest Ginger Rom and all is good.
ive had a odd phone crash i cannot recover the phone from its esentialy a brick now. it turns on and functions sort of but the home page is missing just a blank black screen is there and only the notifacations bar and lock screen works. has anyone ever tryed to flash a velocity rom onto a flipside? if so does everytihng work right afterwards?

Don't know what a velocity rom is, but sounds like you either uninstalled your launcher or it is corrupt. Are you rooted? That's the only way I know that you could have uninstalled it. Here's what you can do to recover regardless. Go to play market from your computer, sign in with your assosiated account to the device and find a home launcher you like. I've used launcher pro and go launcher ex on the flipside. Send your choice to your phone. Then when you unlock the phone, press the home key and you should be given the choice to use the new launcher. Should fix, but you'll have to do some customizing.

Should still work. Doesn't hurt to try.
You can use this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582 to root again. Just did it on mine and worked perfect. Credit to DooMLord.

Not without being able to access the home screen. If you can't remember the google account associated with the phone, sounds like only option is to reflash with the stock sbf. You will lose all data on the phone but not the sd card. The files needed are in the development section.
i did it. i did another master reset resetup the emails form the beginning still had issues messed with the phone got the voice commands to open and told it to open the market by voice command and downloaded it from the phone. its working again now.

Awesome. Glad it worked out. Forgot about voice search cuz I never use it. Any idea how you lost your default launcher?
im not entirely sure how the original got corrupt or missing i unlocked it to make a text on the 26th and it just dident load the home. but its working just as good as it always has now.
well its been a few days the phone works great thogh im not entirely liking the new buttons on the bottom. does anyone know where to get the original motorola flipside home launcher?
