Hello,
i used advanced configuration tool to show the 3g auto option in comm manager. Only problem is it wont move, and is stuck in the off position ?
i use 6.1 1.56.405.1
radio 1.13.25.24
Any ideas please ?
steve
hi,
i have hd with stock rom....
i had same problem as you with" advanced configuration tool to show the 3g"
when i wanted to tweak ..my comm manager with "advance config"..
.(.yes as you put it "button was stuck ")
i then tried alternative and it works o.k for me...
... have been " using hd2 comm cab with 3 g slider button " for a few months (5..or maby 6 months ?)
..no problems..!
anyway ..to recap ...
i saw..." tip 49 in..." Leo Hints, Tips and Registry Tweaks"
in the... hd2 general ..section ..
and i quote....from tip 49...
..." 49. Enable 3G Button in Comm Manager
In Comm Manager, you can substitute the Microsoft direct push for Outlook button for a GSM/3G button by installing the cab below. Warning, please execute tip 60 before this tip "
here is the link ..you might want to take a look at it ..?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
by the way .. i choose to ignore tip 60 as i do not use or miss " direct push "
(also you will see relevant cab for, hd2 comm man , just below tip 58 )
if you want to try it.. dont forget..to install to device and soft reset..!
good luck
willcor
hi and thanks willcor for the information.
I found a 6.1 rom that did not suck the life out of the battery, in fact in testing at the moment seems to have slightly better performance. It is called dammsmalltopix and has a very small amount apps, which means you can still add on the one you really want. If, in final testing i find even the topix rom sucks more battery power i will give your .cab a go as the stock rom, with a radio 1.1.4.25.24 upgrade is really good battery wise.
I have tried most(if not all) win mobile 6.5 roms and they all burn down the battery...they look very nice though. The best 6.5 rom for battery life was miniterror ravge`s that was controlled by the lock program s2u2, for keeping background apps off as best as possible.
Thanks again,
steve.
Willcor,
just as an update...that works...perfect mate, thanks
Steve

Call me stupid, but you will see from my other threads, this ROM business is still new to me.
Can anyone tell me what the differences, if any, are between Artemis Touch 4.01 and 4.02
I currently have 4.01 installed and I want to go to 4.02 but I want to know what the benefit/downside would be.....
Thanks
Here you are the differences:
4.02 version - fixes and refinements
1. New GSM radio 3.08.90
2. Music bar fix - matches theme - thanks Lord Ghost
3. HTC home clock fix - resized so overlap no longer happens
4. Inconing beam enabled - for those having problems sending and receiving files
5. Clock enabled in title bar all programs
6. Fully disable WOW HD - cab made
7. Opera mini removed as security issues - could enter other peoples accounts as cookies are kept on opera server.
8. New Opera mini 4.1 - install by jar
9. Hbutton fix in Touch Full no cube - second press in button2 non-functional
10. 4mb pagepool version of full = more free ram (a bit slower)
11. Playlist manager
Hope this can help in your decision!
Cheers
Thanks so much Zecanilis I'll update it now, and I take it you're happy with .02 as you're using it yourself
Tom.
Yes i'm very satisfied with it! VERY
After you flash the new ROM, just test the radio ROM (regarding drain battery, reception,etc.).
Some people saying that version 3.08.90 it's a bit of battery drainer.
But you can allways upgrade/downgrade to another one. See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397939
Cheers
No problem buddy.
Well 4.01 was using 03.07.90 and my battery would only ever last a day :| I have heard that 08 is alot better for battery, but I know it varies from device to device so we'll see what happens
Just finished flashing , gonna go and have a fiddle now and re-customize everything again
Cheers for your help mate ;P All the best
Tom.
Hello,
first i´m sorry for mistakes in this thread, i´ll do my best to write in english ^^
After 2 Years of using a Symbian Phone, i´ll get a HTC Elf tomorrow and since the era of my BlueAngel i´m here again
Now i have seen, that it´s possible to install the new WM Editions on the Elf and there are a lot of them. My quetion is now which one is the best for the ELF ? 6.0, 6.1, 6.5 and are there German Roms too ?
I think the process to flash the HTC is the same like before but for this i use the search if i have found my favorite Rom ^^
hope you can help me

And if you want to have German on it, please check out the language packs (Located near the downloading links).
Have A Great Weekend,
Jeremy
thanks for the answer and the greetings jeremy
i think i test the 6.5 onyx Beta tomorrow... it looks great and i think in combination with Manila2D its nearly perfect.
Hey!
6.5 with Manilla2D really lags.
Just use the default titanium screen will be great.
6.5 is still in beta, you will have lots of issues.
Try his stable 6.1 ROMs first, Onyx Ultimate 4.6.
If ultimate lags, try onyx jr 4.6
Have Fun!
Jeremy
thanks for the advice.
now i have Onyx 4.4.3 Ultimate (WM6.1) running on my Elf and most of it is german. but there are two more questions.
Is there a M2D Tab for RSS News ? because the normal RSS Reader are not "touch" friendly ^^ and the second question is about the internet connection. I Have no data Flatrate at the moment so the Weather and and Internet Tab (maybe the RSS Plugin) Have to use the Wireless Lan connection . Is it possible to configure the Tabs that they only use W-Lan and not GPRS ?
Greetz and a happy day/night
Rigo
Solution: nodata
Hi Rigo,
you could try "nodata" which is a programm that lets you enable and disable GPRS profiles. You can use this link: http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility-nodata/ or in case that link does not work use google to find "nodata".
Cheers,
Michael
Edit: This programm will of course disable GPRS for all programs until you enable GPRS again.
Sorry, no M2D for RSS.
and yes, you can disable your GPRS using these simple settings, without an application !
Start->Settings->Connections (Tab)->Connections->advanced(tab)->Select Networks-> under the " Programs that ... to the internet .. " -> Choose My work network and click on ok to save.
Assuming you got no work network active, which I dont think it will exist.
And that, will allow your mms to work too.

You could try installing HD Tweak and enable the powersaving option.
It helped quite a bit for me.

That is HD2 Tweak, not is for our TD2....For TD2 is in sticky post:
TD2 Tools (Release 2c)
well, you know the weather animation from the main screen? Well, every time you update the weather, it connects to GPS to get the location and, as I was told ... the GPS remains open and drains the battery. After searching for a solution, in settings there is something: not to allow programs to connect to GPS when needed: settings - location - thick automatically decline location service in all HTC software that attempts to use location. Ans should solve problem. Please post reply.
i have my HTC HD2 coming 2mo!

Gyrator 2 - enables rotate in pretty much all apps
WMLongLife - lets you tweak to extend battery life
Touch X reset and wifi - adds buttons in startmenu to turn on and off wifi and soft reset
TorchButton - activated flash on camera to use as a torch

Duttys Task Manager - adds htc's tap and hold on X in corner to close
you should be able to search the forum and find these easily!!!
Hi, guys & gals,
I am now an HTC HD2 owner. Before that, I had an Eten X800 (I prefer pocket pcs with GPS). What I noticed with Windows Mobile was that the "x" button does not really close the applications. If you check the "Task Manager" you will find many applications hanging in there (not closed) - which occupies space in RAM.
With Eten X800, I was able to install this application called "WkTask" (similar to Magic Button but better) that solved the issue. However, this application is not working on HTC HD2.
I was wondering if anyone uses a similar application that works with HTC HD2 or, if there are some tweaks to make applications/programs to exit (close) for good.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584415
try it...
here's the right cab for your needs... thx to smaberg & tboy2000.
Or look at the *Leo Hints & Tips* , tip 7.
Once installed the normal setting is closing all programs by holding X.
Also possibility to modify and close programs with touching X.
Thank you, the1predator! I'll surely do!
Thank you, all!
