wm6.1 snapVUE

I read today in universal forum that Darkfoirce team has release a very good wm6.1 ROM, it is better than the pdaviet one and also it includes snapVUE, unfortunately, Darkforce team is not considering the BA as i didn't find a thread for it in their forun. Is there any hope to have snapVUE included in the next wm6.1 for BA? I am crossing fingers waiting for Xplode reply!!

Thanx a lot europeen for your question, indeed, it was one of my querries, but i have discarded it in my threat trying not to post a lot of questions in one thread. Since the launch of windows vista, I was looking for the windows sideshow applications or devices, and was wondering if it will be compatible with one of current pocket pc devices in the market. Today while I am revising new posts about wm6.1 in Univeral forum, i found that the new Darkforce ROM contains the snapVUE application, and I found someone has written that it shows your PIM data without opening applications and it is compatible with Visa, so I thought that it is pertaining by anyway to the windows side show! I don't know if it is right or not?

No useless stuff in it, really fast, very good reply on gestures, no freezes so far and TomTom 6 is working.
Not working for me right now:
-Switching through e-mail accounts by gesture
-Scrolling in "all programs", when starting it from the programs tab
-Active Sync activates itsself and runs in the background??
-"Long Press End Key" - Terminate Data Connection not working (other functions are working correct).
To use customized cities in the weather tab, you have to install the weather patched Manila 2D.exe, to start internet from the internet tab, you have to first install Opera. Also NetCF 3.5 is missing.

test results
Very good rom, not yet mesured the speed with spb and sktools benchmark but fully functional:
- automatic sound profile ok,
- Photo and video ok,
- mail with exchange server ok and sliding mail works and do not crash,
- music tab working and refresh is ok,
So the only things you need to complete:
- install .netcf 3.5 and activate it,
- add opera which is missing,
then install your favorite programs.
Very good rom.
I've also tested to add Touchflo3D but it's not very operational: not working so bad so the 3D driver is really here but some blocking bugs not due to the rom but to the actual state of TF3D make it unusable: not possible to standby the phone, some blocage time to time which leads to a reset, ...
Very nice but for TF3D, we have still to wait.

I tried 'it also ( coming from the v33F with radio 1.59.42.15)
2 problems :
"all programs" works only one time after the boot or a reset , then it doesn't work anymore ( not important ) and as folderview is soon in the rom it cannot be solved.
sipchange don't works : i've to choose "letter recognizer" after each reboot (important for me )
sipchange is also in th rom , so it cannot be changed.
i tried reinstalling the rom also hard reset but solved nothing.
i came back to the v33f which is for me the best Rom i've ever had Thank you PdaViet !!

After closing it, it comes up a few minutes later. A softreset doesn´t help.
Anyone else does have this problem? Any solution?

I have the same problem .. however its a problem I could live with.

This does not work the camera rom

I was using Syrius R1 and I tried this PhamQuang's ROM eith the last Radio Rom. I must say that for me is more stable and usable. No freezing problems and no problems with the calendar (with R1 sometimes it didn't show the next appointment until I did a Soft-Reset).
As for the problems I have they are minor:
1-

Same thing here.
2- No possible to scroll in the programs tab when getting there from the "All Programs" link.

Excellent ROM, Amazing and FAST, two issues however:
how to retrieve the DIALER & CALLER ID used on many other new roms like Syrius, etc. [Full screen Caller ID]
and CAMERA...How bout the MICRO MOD and AutoFocus!

What is it with people and TOmTOm. Use something else!
Destinator 7 is SO much better than TomTom.

I have tried all other sat nav softwear and like TomTom! (My choice!)

Manila on tytnII

Hi. I am brand new to this site and have been reading for 3 hrs now. i have found a lot but still unsure how to solve my issue and get the right software.
i am hoping an experienced member can help me quickly.
I have a TYTN II and would like to get Touch Flo 2 (Manilla) on it. Thus I have 3 questions:
1. I want to upgrade to WM 6.1. Do I do that upgrade first via the HTC web site? Or does the manila upgrade include WM 6.1?
2. Does the installation of manilla include the OS or it is just as simple as installing a program?
3. Can u please point me in the direction of the latest stable version of Manila for the TYTN II without any fancy skins. I want the original skin.
4. And finally, i have an older MDA running WM5. Will manila work on it? Or is this asking too much?

1. You'll have to get it through the official HTC site.
2. Manilla is a 'skin' that sits on top of wm6.1, refer to the various threads for install instructions.
3. Currently release 19b, but be aware its no where near 'complete' - it functions but no way i could use it daily on my TyTnII.
4. Maybe. Probably not. Try it and let us know.

yes it works with TYTN II (also called kaiser) actualy it works 100% with some of the cooked roms you find in the Kaiser forum. and it's perfectly capable of day to day use. if release 19b is not usefull for day to day use then go for a cooked rom because all of them are perfect for day to day use.
I've been runing manila 2d on all my devices for weeks without any problems.

all working nice except very low MICROPHONE quality and not so good signal in some hard to reach places. People doesn hear me very good. I had to return to official wm6 rom.

I was just thinking about upgrading to this wm 6.1 rom but hearing it affects the phone functionality, i might back down. Anyone else that has updated their rom to wm 6.1 post your opinion please. Thank you.

Hi all, I installed the new one from Yevg001,and found it a bit slow, but if might be because I installed the MS2.1 Diamond Theme v2.0.....outside the diamond its perfict...no problems up to now.

did u try to talk with it? does anyone on the other side report a poor mic quality? A lot of peple couldnt hear me good. Otherwise is good.
Original wm6 for 614c u can find on the hp website. I restored my phone with that tool.

Dears;
I tried it for couple of days.The PPC become very slow ( slow responding ) and some times it will hange if u r a heavy user. Software wise its excellent but I dont recommend it for you, my self i reterned back to old English/ Chainess one ( 5.2.20721.1.4.0 ), It's the fatest ever room i tested plus it's excellent in term of compatibility with the arabizer software which i used.

were can I find the t9 for portugues to regonize when in sms....
And regarding the new rom, I canot get to recieve via bluetooth, I can send no problem, it strange why.

My feedback.
Here is my feedback (more like first impressions as i installed it yesterday)
+++ It's faster than the original rom by means of booting, loading programs and file system read/write not tested with sk tools but it's obvious)
+++ The microphone level is ok, i have tested it in real talk - no problems at all)
+++ The camera works better - i had some problems with AF in the 6.0 official HP rom)
+++ It's wm 6.1 (has task manager and stuff)
+++ More free RAM on boot.
--- Some problems with displaying time/date in cyrillic - i guess it's the system fonts
--- Some issues with Active sync - it won't sync with the pc and sometimes it doesnt connect at all.
--- Net cf is v 2.0 and it's not working properly - some of the programs based on netcf (like keygens) exit with errors with the netcf dlls.
Please report your feedback. Do you have problems like those and how do you solve them.

i've been using the ROM for quite about 2 weeks now (20270 to be precise) with M2D mod. Works perfectly, loads faster, there are no lags or hangs.
Only thing that bothers me is that i cannot download email although the internet connection works. But this might be some issue with the settings and frankly i was too lazy to check it out

where is the new polaris wm6.1 roms??

Hay all cookers of polaris where is the new wm6.1 cooked roms for polaris all new roms are wm6.5, which is very beta version and do strange actions that (when i open a program in programs page for example and i close it it will close and get me back to the home or today tab or page not in programs page the last page that i opened )it but to home why and how come that !!!!!!!!!????????
and most of us are hate titanium tweaks and disabling it and enabling manilla or touch flo and all cooker still consist to add it in their cooked roms

we really need wm6.1 rom that has :
1) iolite m2d with footprints
2) the m2d could playing video and i could stop or pause or close it while it is playing (on screen controls in photos and videos)
3)the rom must has a good working 3G video calls dialer
4)a fast working opera with flash and working ie
5)the rom must has working percentage battery icon
6)a good working version of youtube
7)fast and stable rom
8)menu enhancements
9)a program that make polaris receive by bluetooth on memory card by default
10)has all new programs of iolite because it works perfect on polaris
if any body want to add a something please post below

There is a version (naked) that has video dialer. There are also instructions regarding installing a video dialer into any of the other versions.

Thanks,(i have tested this rom since first day of it the full , lite and the naked) but you know that i`m asking for a new wm6.1 full rom that has all the new programs and has a 3G dialer with video calls not a naked one

I`m already using the perfectdjkoa v1 3g dialer with video calls (found it in this forum) and i always install it after flashing any rom that has no 3g dialer , but it conflict with the arabizer that i use (mobidiv 417)(and that is always happen for all non native speaker of English that need to use and localize the new roms that has the new apps for their language) and make my device boot very slow so i need the 3G dialer to be in the wm6.1rom itself to solve many problems for many people

If that does not meet your needs you might have to cook your own.
Plenty of guides in the Forum to show you how and that way you can make it with whatever you like.
I doubt you will see any of the Polaris cooks coming out with a new 6.1 ROM as all the focus is now on 6.5.
