anyone using TomTom with internal GPS? - Touch HD General

Hi,
anyone using TomTom 7.91x with internal GPS on this device?
If so, could you post the export of
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver
registry key?
Thanks

Thanks

I don't remember editing the registry to get mine to work. I don't actually remember what I did to get mine to work, which means it was straightforward, or I just forgot!

Perfect. Thanks

Registry trouble with phoneAlarm

Just recently I detected that I do not receive any calendar notifications any more, which is really annoying. Device wakes up but no sound at all. Browsed some threads on this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1035667#post1035667) but only advise I found is to hard reset - which I do not want. I checked the registry instead and found some questioning entrys.
Could anybody USING PHONEALARM (www.pocketmax.net) on a Prophet or any other WM5 device please post some of his registry entries here?
- HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Reminders
- HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications
Many thanks

Could you post you registry values then? Would be very helpful for me

To me either pocket clock or PHONEALARM caused the same problem.
I went back to a sprite back-up point from before installing both applications. Then my reminders and alarms worked again.
I have not tried to reinstall either of them.

Could you help me posting your registry values please? Once I found a solution without hard resetting I will post it here, seems that many have this problem. And I feel it is connected to PhoneAlarm

The registry values?
I didn't manipulate the registry, I just put the user name and introduce the serial number.

Yes I did the same. And after more than two months I ran into the mentioned problem. And now I want to manipulate the registry but need to compare the mentioned values with mine. There is nothing critical about registry values and your would pretty much help me providing your info.

hase01 - here you go...
BTW, I had the exact same thing happen to me with my Magician, and had to hard-reset to get notifications back. I've only just been game enough to load pA on my newish Prophet and so far it is working OK. I am running pA Lite v.1.56.1 (Build 80).

PeterW,
many thanks. Unfortunatly it looks the same on my phrophet - but without getting notified. I am using pA 1.31 - no idea whether this will generate other registry entries than pA lite 1.56.1. On my my WM2003 device with pA 1.31 installed the registry looks different, in reminders I have:
* Default = "Erinnerungen"
* Duration = 10
* Options = 1073741855
* Wave = "Alarm4"
Anybody else having these entries in a WM5 registry?

Have found a solution using alarmToday, also a pocketmax product. Look my post on their support page:

No need for a hard reset!!!!! Hope this helps other users, for me phoneAlarm is one of the best tools I have on my PPC and to deinstall it would be of great disadvantage.

I used Freeware Task Manager from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=280104 to fix this. Run it, go to notifications tab, select "delete duplicate" and reboot. All working nicely now.

Changing the date format?

I've got my regional settings set for South Africa but the date format is in yy/mm/dd. I want to change this to dd/mm/yy. Is there any way of doing this in the registry and will it mess any applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook etc.?
Thanks.
Yes, look for Short Date Format

Sir Charles!!
I applied these yesterday and I believ you have something....but I wonder if it's catchy. LOL
I left my connections on all night (BT/wifi), talked for 90 minutes to my friends and family, listened to music on pocket player for an hour and a half and now, 24 hours later I still have 50% battery.
I usually don't activate my connections until I use them and typically don't call too many people on this phone (I have a sucky corporate phone), but it seems all this added activity has not had anywhere near the impact I normally would expect.
I'll spread the word and see if more folks won't give this a try on their Shadows.
Meanwhile....Thanks!!

Well I have installed already and testing, post results later
Thanks,
I downloaded the .cab and attempted to install. The install was unsuccessful- anyone know why that might be? Could my registry be locked? I am using WM6.1_V1b_by_Erofich.
So, no feedback yet ?
What kind of feedback are you looking for? I use it, I recommend it. This should be the first thing you install on your shadow.
Hmm ok, so does it work for diamond ?
Um, no... that's why it's posted in the Shadow/Juno forum and not the Diamond forum.
Actually, all of the registry keys are present in both the touchscreen and non-touchscreen editions of WM 6.1.
So the CAB installer may not work, but the actual registry fix should.
I am trying this on my Wizard and will edit later to post how it works out.
#edit to add#
Works great on both my Wizard and my Juno.
I think that these should work for any WM 6.x build.
Ok thank's, i will try these settings !

Basically all of these are power management keys, which allows the phone to turn devices/connections off when not in use.

Backlight problem with iGO8

Hello,
I've got a litte problem with every version of iGO8 on my Touch Pro 2.
The backlight is never on the maximum level.
I always use my phone with maximum backlight but when iGO8 run the backlight is only at 50% even if I set the slider in the options menu to the maximum. It's like iGO8 can't use the maximum backlight of the phone.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks a lot!
My experience is that backlight cannot be done by iGO8. I don't use this setting in the program, but am using Phone weaver to do this for me (volume, backlight, power - all changed when on AC power and no ActiveSync (=in car holder))
Use iGoLuncher to run the app. it solves the problem.

I'm sorry but I don't unsderstand what you mean by "Use iGoLuncher"
I made a new device in the data.zip; copied the file 'HTC Touch Pro T7272.ini' in config/devices and named it HTC Touch Pro 2.ini.
Now changed the line of maximum backlight to this:
backlight_max = 15
so the complete file is this:
Code:
info_names="HTC Touch Pro 2"
;Copied from HTC Touch Pro T7272
[gps]
port=4
baud=57600
[device]
SDCard_dsk_num=7
[rawdisplay]
highres=0
autoconfig=1
driver="gx"
screen_x=800
screen_y=480
[power]
backlight_manage_values=1
backlight_max = 15
backlight_min = 0
backlight_reverse = 0
backlight_key_bright_BA1 ="Brightness"
backlight_key_bright_AC1 ="ACBrightness"
backlight_key_timeout_BA = "BatteryTimeout"
backlight_key_timeout_AC = "ACTimeout"
backlight_key_ontap_BA = "BacklightOnTap"
backlight_key_ontap_AC = "ACBacklightOnTap"
backlight_key_on_BA = "OnOff"
backlight_key_on_AC = "ExtOnOff"
backlight_methods = 1 , 25
backlight_events = 1, 5, 7
backlight_slow_api=1
Now insert into sys.txt:
Code:
[device]
type="HTC Touch Pro 2"
Hope this helps!
no problems on mine.. nevertheless, thanks a lot bright.light your name is simply perfect for a topic like this!

Yes, you are right - this should do it. Everything in those config files is overruled by sys.txt (when it's in the sys.txt, that is)

There are many ways to do this, but I just use Resco Explorer because it's the easiest for me. When you click and hold on an item, you get a menu that allows you to select Send To - Start Menu as Shortcut.

On WP7 they are in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Connectivity\CellularUx\DataConnectionIcon\ and default values on my EU Omnia7:

1XRTT 1X

GPRS G

How to add "Google" as a search provider in my Ativ S?
It don't have a option in: "internet explorer-->setting"
A quick suggestion: there's a similar thread from WP7 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907971
Not all of the same keys/values will be present, and some of them might not be writable at this time. However, it's a start. As an example, changing the search providers is in there.

Ahh, thanks for that. Looks like the reg location is completely different. I will continue to look into it, perhaps there is a key to enable the option for disabling the sound (mine is locked by my rom) in which case I would need to match mine against someone else, otherwise a search function searching for keys (shutter.wav) may be useful.
