Hi,
Has anyone noticed that the Diamond2 always returns to the home screen after comming out of lock mode or standby?
For example, i could be listening to music, after 5 mins of me not using the screen, the phone would lock. On entering the PIN, the TouchFlo retuns to the home screen, instead of my music app. Same goes for any other app on the TouchFlo. My previous Touch Pro came back to the last opened app on TouchFlo.
Not a huge problem but would be good if there was a tweak to stop this behaviour.

Ps if you find a solution please let me know
I also experienced a problem with switching screens when turning the device back on. Uninstalling TouchLockPro solved the problem for me...
@Brempie
I took your comment about uninstalling TouchLockPro. I didnt have that program installed but i took the PIN lock off my phone temporarily, and hey presto, phone works as it should!
So now we know what causes the problem, hopefully HTC will have a fix for it....eventually.
I'll live with the bug for the moment, i prefer a phone which is PIN locked.
Cheers,
M
I have never had this happen to me. I also installed throttle lock and it always goes back to where it was when I unlock. I just uninstalled throttle lock and did a soft reset to test and make sure it never reverted back to the home screen. Nothing.
No matter what program I am in it wakes up to that same spot. I don't know what the registry hack for this is but there probably is one.
Could you possibly try this? Install ThrotleLock v0.6 and then see if it will work. If it wakes back up to the same screen and not TF3D uninstall it and see if it goes back to TF3D or not.
*warming up this thread*
So, has anyone yet found a solution for this?
It's annoying for me as i have set the device to go to standby after 2 minutes of inactivity when on battery. When i listen to music with the musicplayer in foreground, or when i write an email and someone interrupts me, i put the device in standby by myself or it does automatically after the defined time.
In 95-99%, when i turn back on the device, it has returned back to the touchflo home screen. Very rarely, and it could not yet find any system, the device wakes up exactly where i left it. This is, what it should do everytime but sadly it doesn't.
I'm using the Stock-ROM, activated PIN-Lock of my SIM, having a (WinMobile default) device Lock (4-digits) set to activate after 24 hours (this way it does not activate itself during normal usage, unless i long-press the end-call-button), using 2ndToday with SPB Diary.
It gets more annoying for me every day, because especially during working time i frequently turn the device on and off. Reading RSS-news, turning the device off for an incoming call, turning the device on just to get welcomed by the home-screen instead of staying on the news i previously read isn't that comfortable
Having to open the taskmanager and reactivating the program means at least two more clicks everytime i use the device... so - any solution?
edit: I think i tracked down the source of the problem, watch in this thread:

Hello! I'm new but I have a big problem. In the enening when I go to bed I often turn off my Experia so I'm not interrupted at night and I can save my baterry. But the problem is that alarm in the morning doesn't want to ring and doesn't want to turn Xperia on back. I found recently the page on the web where somenoe said that it needs to be doen some hidden tweaks so that the WM doesn't try to look how full the baterry is before it sturts up. I can't find that page on the web again so can someone help me with this settings?
Than you.
use flight mode.
x1 cant wake up when off
I don't think any Windows Mobile phone is capable of waking itself up when it's powered down.
you probably use just as much power turning the phone on as you would have used leaving it in stand by..... just sayin'
OK, so I have tried flight mode and it works but anyway does anyone know the hidden settings to change verifiing battery from wm before it turns on again?
Oh, and another problem on my Xperia. I noticed that when I don't use it the screen (backlight) aproximetely every once in 2 minutes turns on again (my power settings are: turn backlight off after 30 sec, standby mode after 1 minute). I think that why battery last only 3 days. Can anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Change your configuration : Settings / system/ ilumination (check here the items you have enable or disable "enable ilumination".
Well basically, your device is off when you turn turn off the screen.
Not quite. You can always leave a lot of applications running with the screen off.
So what kind of setting to save as much as it can for battery or what kind of app du you recomend?
First, as someone already said, a WM device can not turn itself on when powered down.
To conserve battery... well just make sure no CPU intensive apps are running in the background, wifi, BT, data connection are off and use auto backlight setting.
Most smartphones don't turn themselves on for alarm (WM, UIQ Symbian, S60 Symbians), but i can't tell for all (iPhone does as i've heard, no idea about Android).
PDA is not Mobile Phone.
It has operation system etc.
To run PDA you need about 1 minute for loading all components of OS.
To run Mobile Phone Alarm needs no load components of OS, just display and sound.
In PDA sound can be played with help of driver and so on.
In Mobile Phone just tiny assembler program and clock-chip.
I know my alarm worked before with Touch-It rom. But since I flashed with WM6.5 and my alarm doesn't go off when the screen is off. There's no way around this?
I can't trust the alarm at all, it sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Same on stock rom and 6.5. G-alarm is much better though..
Are you talking about turning the phone off completely,or turning off to the standby stage ? If you use the standby stage, it works fine, and hardly uses any power in this mode.
As I posted before, my TD2 goes black when using TomTom on battery.
Normally, my backlight dims after 30secs, and the screen goes off after 1 minute of inactivity.
With TomTom running, no backlight dimming, but screen blanks after 2 minutes. On battery power (in my car) no probs at all. I have the latest rom. I reinstalled TomTom several times. No solution. Tried all the settings in Settings-More-Power-Advanced. No solution. Edited the registry, no solution.
However, I have a prog called RunGPS. There is a small button: keep backlight on function. If I press that button, the screen stays on. If I switch to TomTom, it also stays on. Downside is, RunGPS keeps a dataconnection active.
So, it has to be possible to make some application that does only one thing: keep backlight on, or leave it to the TD2. Is this possible to create..??
Try ScreenOn:

ageye g-light
Too bad.. both don't work. Screen-On doesn't come up with something; I just click it and that's it, no prog or text saying something is active. And after a few seconds.. screen-off.
G-light does have TomTom as exception with option "keep backlight always on" and after two minutes... Yep. Screen-Off...
I use S2U2 on my Diamond 2 and you can insert an exception to stop the device going into suspend/sleep mode when using TomTom on battery.

Can you be a bit more specific? I installed S2U2, and found the registry settings; just added TomTom Navigator.exe there. But after 2 minutes.. my screen is blank...

i'm sorry, you're right.
after 2 minutes the screen goes of..
I tried Lumos with my garmin mobile XT and that seems to work. it also has exceptions. Just insert the name of the program as mentioned in the task manager.
Added TT in the exceptions.
After 30secs screen goes off...

installed tomtom 7 and tried adding it to lumos and it worked fine for me..
i added 'TomTom Navigator' as an exception
I have this problem too - except that mine goes off after 10 minutes. I am wondering if it has anything to do with some programs I have experimented with lately, notably ones to make the battery level appear as a percentage number rather than a small number of bars, and another to add more colourful icons. Have you added anything similar? Unfortunately, the battery level application has no uninstall (it does not show up in "Remove Programs").
Any ideas?
Filbert
Yes, I did install several things but also did several hard-resets. Nothing helped. I even found settings in the registry regarding backlight power but also no effect.
I mailed the problem to HTC and received an answer today; I have to contact the callcenter for a repair.... so I guess there's something buggy in the Topaz...
**EDIT** Just made a phone call with HTC. Very polite; they come and pick up the phone and will return it somewhere between 5-10 days. Hopefully they find something that will do the trick..
Problem solved: TD2 came back after a day or 5 from HTC repair. Backlight stays on when unchecked, and stays on while apps are running that needs that (like tomtom).
No idea what they have done, but it works..
Is there something simple that I am missing that someone can point me to? When I use GPS/Google Maps, the screen times out after the set delay (I have it set to 30 seconds) and I have to turn the phone back on again.
This never happened with my G1. When it was in GPS/Map mode, the screen would just automagically stay on.
i still have my eris (1.5) but i use keepscreen...

didn't want to create a new thread, but did anyone find a solution to this besides keeping the display on when charging?

Hello,
I've exactly the same problem. I tried keepscreen, it works, but I wanted to know if there was an other solution (without installing an application).
If somebody has a solution, it would be great
Screebl does what you want.
If you use the Navigate function the screen does not timeout. of course you can't be in any other app.

I thank you for your answers.
Hi, I have a fairly new problem with my fantastic HD2.
When I plug it into my PC via USB, the backlight dims after the set 30 seconds, but it will not turn off altogether after the set time (1 or 2 minutes).
I've tried everything. I definitely have the backlight settings correct, but no matter what I do, cleaning RAM, whatever, it only dims but will not turn off. It used to turn off, but stopped doing so about a week ago.
Around that time I installed Co0kie's Home Tab 1.7.1 and thought that might be the problem, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, same problem and I don't think it's the cause. All the settings in the CHT Editor are OK too, I think.
Can anyone help? Maybe I could alter the registry setting directly, and if so could someone please tell me what it is?
Many thanks,
David
