Yes.
But prior to flashing to this radio, even on the same ROM, I was not able to do that before flashing to this Radio.
Thats why I tot this radio actually enable/unlock this capability
Mayb your network has updated there systems....
im on 2.10 and i can surf/talk at the same time too, so that's rly not radio dependant
i always hv this feature with any radio
had to chime in with my 2 cents; i have to agree surfing and chatting at the same time is available as ling as you have 3g, when you have edge you are not able to. that is dependent on network not radio but maybe updating your radio gave you a better signal. either way, its good to hear you are able to now.
I am using this radio rom and when i receive phone call, i am losing internet connection. It's not depending on ROM.

Not by any chance T-mobile in the Netherlands? They just upgraded their 3G network.
this isn't so common for me some roms when a phone call comes in data connection drops on energy rom it hadn't done this but roms before it would drop connection so i don't know i was under the impression that it was rom dependent that's why i have kept energy rom for so long if others had this feature i would've changed to a rom with better program memory

i have bad reception GSM bars! inside my house 1 bar............outside 2 bars maximum!!!!
i have used all of roms here and all of radio roms! no good news!!!! can anyone resolve dis?????

Lot's of people experiencing the same problem. If you still went ahead and flashed, that's your problem.
Agreed. This is a common problem that there seems to be no fix for except getting your phone replaced. Even people restoring back to original factory conditions (ROM and Radio) still have the lower signal.
You have to be aware of the side effects with any ROM Dish
solving the problem for 100EU
You can solve the problem really easy... By moving somewhere else... Actually I moved from the 2nd floor to the 8th and it helped OK seriously now: I'm using RADIO version 1.64.08.21, Protocol version: 25.74.40.02H, WM 6.1 19209.1.0.2, HARD SPL v2 and 3G is OFF and everything works well and the signal strength is full of course.
try to disable the 3G functionnality (if you don't need it of course). My signal strength is always high for me since I disabled it.

Re-flash original ROM, re-flash original SPL, then, Hard reset.
the signal doesnt change only because of software, maybe the scale changed...
i tried flashing original rom and spl no good news! how can i disable 3G????

another thing might work as well.
switch your phone settings from AUTO to hard GSM instead of WCDMA this might help a bit as well.
I did the easy route: go back and claimed a new phone because the reception on this phone is bad.

Changing from Auto to GSM on the phone band settings I went from 2 to 4 bars on the signal. Makes me think that the issue is only visual and that there is no real change in signal strength.

Right now I see 2 people who are flashing the Russian ROM and report that after that the signal strength is normal again? One guy with 2 posts, another with 3 posts... this is currently not making me comfortable to try it myself unless someone with a longer presence on this forum is confirming that it works.
I saw another guy who said he has nothing to lose and wants to try it... I'll wait and see his results... maybe it really works?

The signal quality varies much from 3G to GSM. All depends on the network coverage. In the same spot you can have good GSM signal and bad 3G coverage. Roughly speaking, there are 2 antennas on the same network cell: 1 for GSM and another for 3G. Theoretically, the best coverage is achieved by GSM, since it was the first protocol used, and the network opperator added 3G later.
On the end look for call quality, not number of bars ...

Seems, you can save your 100 Euros and just flash this
Murata Radio Rom which was descovered as fixing the issue
over in the Reception issue poll thread.

you could try this russian radio rom. it helped many users who had the same problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388823
Just download the rom, flash it (it is in russian), then flash any rom you want without a radio and it should work.

this actually worked for me! from 2 to 4 bars. Excellent!
i flashed the radio "Radio_Murata_PPAS_1.58.21.23.rar" and since its back to full strength!!!! wot da fuc..... man!!!! its greatttttttttttttttttt!!! thanks!!! now whoz da owner of dis radio???? to who... i have to send 100 euros??? plz call me 0039 3294224714!! im GISHI! thankx guyzzzzzzzzzzz

Yes this really is a great forum, it has helped so many people with their problems with their expensive devices, like it did with yours today.
However I recommend you donate (out of the 100 euros) a bit of the money to the maker of the ROM that helped you, and the majority of the money to XDA Developers (say, 25 euros to the maker of the ROM and 75 euros to XDA Developers).
XDA Developers will only work if people like the maker of the ROM contribute to it, so it seems fair to share the wealth.
Its good to see that you are sticking to your promise, a while back someone asked for help and offered £40 as a reward and when the help was given (it was quite a difficult problem) they never paid up.
I've been reading about upgrading my radio version (currently 2.06.51.07), does it really make that much of a difference?

If you read the threads you'll hear only go for a radio with 50 not 51, all rom makers state this.
I've been using a radio 2.12.50 for a couple of weeks and just upgraded my rom and its perfect-clarity is crystal clear and pages load very quick in comparison to original radio
IIRC, flashing the radio depends both on the device and the base rom.
Radios for stock devices
T-MO USA - .50
Other HD2 variants - .51
Again, this is not cast in concrete... I think the radios (.50 & .51) would vary even for stock devices if the base rom has been upgraded.
Bottomline, if you are sticking to a stock rom, check up on what your operator has to offer and don't cheat. That's my best advice. Lot of chaps here have turned their Leo's into bricks because of experimenting with the wrong radio. As of writing this, there is still no fix for it.
If you are switching to a custom rom, then all this becomes moot because the rom chefs always mention which radio is best for their rom.

using radio 2.12.50.02_2 and living in the uk also.
this is by far the most energy efficient radio i used in the uk.
i'm not a heavy user and able to use the phone for 3+ days. though it is mentioned that the battery drain is higher than with 2.10 or 2.11 radio's when calling or playing with the phone.
call quality is good and data also good. it is definitely better to upgrade the radio from the stock radio you are using.

Calm down... I may have done it with a sarcastic tone, but I was trying to make a point : only someone in your area who's using the same network as you can really tell you whcih radio would suit you best, so you've just got to try a few for yourself and make up your own mind...
Secondly, the Q&A forum is for questions, not this one...

Yup yup, I have flashed from radio to radio and only really seen little to no difference. I am on 2.11.50.20 and there is really no different to any of the other 5 or so I have tried.
Radio not working at all
On T-mobile*, radio version 2.5 1919.4027, using supplied headphones as antenna.
Thing simply doesn't work. I get the spinning colours for about ten seconds, then it closes. Am I missing something?

I'm on O2 UK and my HD2 has all of a sudden started struggling for signal in areas I used to be have full bars. For example, when sat in my flat messages don't come through for ages, or I can't ring out/accept calls. It's doing my head in a bit.
Can a radio I installed do this, or will it be down to my network?

It could very well do, try a new radio compatable with your ROM and see if it makes a difference.

The radio in my sig made a slight improvement to my signal, might not help you as Im not on o2 but its compatible with your rom, Im using the same one....

I have just got a Used Tmobile Unlocked HD2 today it is running Android but don't know if its from SD Card or from the internal memory.
But I want dual boot WM7.5 (Mango) with the Android.
No Idea how to do and which HSPL, Radio & Rom Should I choose for both Android & WM 7.5 ( Mango)
Just need a suggestion and if there is any link, so that I can get all the info as newbie, it will be really helpful for me....

When you say t mobile, do you mean t mo USA? Only the USA version (the "tmous") is different.
Always and only 2.08.hspl for android and wp7.
Radio, there are two families of radios, 2.xx.51.x and 2.xx.50.x,, (shortened to ..50.. and ..51.. ) take special note of the 50 and 51. For magldr, android, wp7 you MUST have a ..50.. radio, and the 2.xx.50 xx must be higher than 06.
To keep it simple, if you DO have a tmous, the radio will already work. (..50.. radios are tmous radios)
If you have a regular hd2 (all white hard key lights) then go flash 2.15.50 radio.
If you do have a tmous NEVER EVER flash a ..51.. radio, or a non tmous stock winmo rom, or ..50.. radios lower than 2.06.50, because they will always brick tmous phones.

use hspl4 to set 2.08.hspl (android / wp7 will ONLY work with 2.08.hspl) and yes that radio is fine.

Returned the phone today & now waiting for money back from seller, there was an issue related network signal. I have tried 2 sim card but no signal was there. Don't know what was the problem actually.

Maybe it needs to network unlocked. Did you have an unlock code?

Got my money back 100%. I am happy now
I think phone has hardware problem, because I was getting network signal but 1bar and some time it goes off, where as my N8 is getting full signals in my room also.
Whatever be.....

I am from India and I have friend in US he is sending me this phone I really don't know from where he got new , you can get new from ebay also its cheaper thn mine, but I can't trust ebayer any more that's the reason I bought from local US market by my friend.

not trying to disappoint you, but hd2 got lower signal then other phones..
in my house i get at least 2 bar less then iphone unlocked for t-mobile and htc aria unlocked for t-mobile...
i tryed wm 6.5 several....mango 7.5.....androids from sd from nand....sense not sense....clk and mgdlr...doesn't matter still low compare to other phones...still i love it its like old car you want to use on the weekend....

I flasher that 6.5 os at the day 1.
Using Mango Pdaimatejam ROM 8107 v7.2
and ICS from SD
But somehow I found there is two types of radio...
1. Hardware Radio.
2. Software radio.
As I came to know Radio version ....51.... will brick the Tmous, and that's why we have to flash with ....50.... radios. And I think this is the Hardware Radio Part... If I am wrong please let me know.

That was the phone info before I broke it lol.can't find it anywhere with that radio except us version which is no good in uk.got twrp installed and a back up from another phone but it doesn't back up radio.when I install over us rom with correct radio it won't boot.mismatch I presume.help anyone please
I have the same problem as you, acquired a cell phone 10 evo of gearbest and has a rom of vietnam that only receives signal 2g and none of the roms published in this forum manages to solve my problem, the european rom if it emits signal, but not manages to capture the network. Help yourself please

I got the radio and managed to put it on any rom but still only 2g grrrrr gonna try and drop it into all the roms one by one and see.lol

still 2g tried most roms now.gonna try vm one that has no radio and ill put the radio in it....not 100 percent I got right radio though lol
no good they all will only give me 2g.must be a setting for the frequencie because frequency website says 1o evo full compatable in uk on Vodafone.....ran out of things now.looks like im gonna stay jonny 2g

You can try and unlock all bands with QPST
