I got everything working....except the voices....
Help help help help

thnaks for all help
I think you might be having the same problem i did for a while. I knocked up a seperate voice installer to put the voice files in the right place. feel free to give it a go.
helo . is this the portuguese voice ?
'fraid not, it's the english one.
I dont now how to do a ´cab ....can you do for all of us Portuguese guys..??
You can edit his file with wince cab manager! and drag the voice files you want installed in this cab
Ok.. but where i put this cabs ???
In the CAB files, you'll have a file called dataXX.CHK. Put that file in this folder on your device:
Code:
\TomTom\TomTom
for version 5.10, it has to be under that full path.
for version 5.00, it has to be under \TomTom.
I believe it's a typo in their software, but that's the only way I got any of the voices to work.
Just create a folder called TomTom on the root of your device, then create another folder under it also called TomTom. Finally, copy your CHK file into that folder. You can also copy the dataXX.BMP and dataXX.VIF files into that folder, but that's optional.
That's it!
Strange...i belive that i need a folder voices....
1. download wince cab manager
2. open voice**.cab with wince cab manager
3. open files in this voice cab
4. extract data**.chk out of the cab, by dragging it to a new folder
5. determine which *.vif file (also in the folder voice on your cd) is linked to your voice**.cab (in your case porf.vif (female) and porm.vif (male))
6. rename the porf.vif or porm.vif file to data**.vif (** is the number of the voice file) and copy he file to your new folder
7. open tintoy.cab
8. open files in this cab
9. drag data**.chk and data**.vif into this cab
10. save tintoy's cab file
11. execute this file in your pda
you can also make a folder voices and put the chk and vif file in there
\voices in the root of the device
Hello everybody,
please, do you know how to add new voice tag for a program with any 2.24 ROM (Mr. Clean, Orange...)? When I used Voice Dialer for a first time, it told me that there is no voice tag and I had possibility to add voice tags for Contacts or Programs. Now when I would like to add new voice tag for program, I have no possibility. I can add new command for contact by entering Contacts and choosing "Add voice Tag..." from context menu. But what about programs? In the older ROMs there was shorcut for "learning mode" of Voice Dialer under Start->Settings->Personal, but neither in Mr. Clean nor in Orange 2.24 is such a shorcut anymore. Any ideas? Could anybody with older ROM try to find out something about this shorcut for learning mode of Voice Dialer? Thank you.
I will reply by myself
I have communicated with the people from Cyberon. Their hint was:
Dear Sir,
1. Please rename VoiceTagCPL.cp_ to VoiceTagCPL.cpl
2. Please copy VoiceTagCPL.cpl to the PDA directory "\Windows".
3. Reset the device.
The Voice Speed Dial settings program icon will show in the
Settings->Personal. We release this file to every manufacture. We are
wondering if they forget to put it in \Windows.
Best Regards,
Cyberon
Unfortunatelly, from their message I could not recognize where to locate VoiceTagCPL.cp_. But I found VoiceTagCPL_0409.ini in my Windows directory. I opened that file and there was path to the file CVDSetting.exe in the Windows directory. I have opened this file and voala, that's it! So I have created shorcut of this file and now I ma sattisfied
Voicetag.cpl
Just in case you want the file.....
cpl file is in the zip file...
Great, this is even better then a shortcut in my Programs folder.
I want to deny or restrain installation of applications on the fly as an service/process or by making changes in the registry on WM5 devices. Any ideas? The app preferely in C++/C#
CAB files are installed by wceload.exe in the windows directory.
You can overwrite this file with a blank exe, or remove the CAB extension reference to it in registry under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.
Deny or restrain inst. of apps
Thanks, yes I've thought about this - but this isn't a very dynamic solution. When a person run a CAB I want to check if app is okay to install from a "List" - then show a popup with a message saying something like "Sorry, you are not allowed to install this application. Please contact your company IT Admin for more info".
Is the .CAB association in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT linked to wceload - so I could run an app to validate CAB, and if ok execute wceload..?

Write up a registry entry in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT to associate .CAB files with your custom file. Then, when the user taps on a CAB file, your program reads it, compares it against its list and, if it's approved, calls WceLoad with the appropriate parameters.
The key would probably look something like this:
HKCR\cabfile\shell\open\command
(default) = "<path to your app>" "%1"
(%1 will be replaced with the path to the CAB file).
Then, if the CAB was approved, call WceLoad with the following parameters:
\windows\wceload.exe "<path to cab file>" /nodelete
Note that some apps, may call wceload.exe directly. I am not sure if Activesync does it, but I know a couple of custom installers that do.
If you really want to secure the device against unothorized software do the following:
Rename wceload.exe to something else like wceload1.exe.
Create you own wceload.exe, but make sure you capture and preserve all command line parameters in case you need to transfer them to the original file for proper installation.
This way you can be sure no one will install anything without your permission.
Olso, keep in mind wceload is used to switch themes as well. (It handles *.tsk files).
Very much..
Thank You all!!
I don't mean to ask silly questions, but I can't seem to manage a simple installation. I download the "WM VI Black Cyberon Voice Dial" cab and would like to install it, but have no idea where to begin!!! Could someone please help me with some step-by-steps? I would like to try this out instead of the MS Voice Commander. I also downloaded the "WM VI Black Cyberon Voice Commander" just in case, and would love to find out what works best on my Hermes. I would appreciate any help that may come my way.
:-D
save it on your storage card and run it from the file explorer on the phone.....?
What to run . . .
Do I "execute" the _setup.xml file? Will that copy everything needed to everyplace required?
Execute the xml file? What have you done to the file already?
Copy the complete cab file (don't try and extract anything) onto your phone. Then (through file explorer) double click or run the cab. The XML file etc should all be within the cab and you should not even need to know about it. The cab should run on your phone as it is.
Hello!
Now I found a way to Edit DLL, EXE, MUI and all other files for WM5 and WM6!
I ever had problems with the Signature in the Files bur now i have the Solution!
In This package i attached, there is a UnSigner, Signer, Editor and the Certificate for the Phone!
Step1:
First you must Unsign the file you want to edit!
Just go into the Unsign dir and drop the file over UnSigner.exe.
A DOS-Window will popup for a short time, the file is now unsigned!Step2:
Now you can edit the file! I placed the reshacker into the package...
Step3:
If you edited the file successfully, you must sign it again!
Go into the Sign dir and open siggner.exe. Then choose the file you edited and take the "SDKSamplePrivDeveloper" Certificate.
Press "Start sign process" and close it
Viola, now your file is Modified and signed!!!

Can i use this to change the Samsung Omnia Menu to different programs being shown? Instead of TouhPlayer Kinoma?
I was able to unsign, modify and then sign a DLL file. But when I opened it in PE Explorer to check it, it gives me errors that the file is now too long. Take it you can't make additions, only changes?
EDIT: Here's the exact error I'm receiving, not sure if it's fixable or not;

MEditor: Simplicity
Hi guys,
I've decided to make it quite a bit easier. Just open up the attached .zip
file, extract the MEditor to Program Files, and double-click Install Context
Menus.reg (confirm if a warning pops up).
Now, to edit a dll, mui, or exe file, just right-click on it and press Edit with
ResHacker. Once you're done editing, just save the file, close ResHacker,
and it'll take care of re-signing the file for you
How it works
I didn't mean to make this post a big deal, but I'd just like to explain how this
thing works. I've added the necessary registry files for adding or removing
(if you choose) the Context Menus for "Edit with ResHacker". It calls
C:\Program Files\MEditor\open.bat, which opens a batch window (do not
close it until you're done editing, it will close itself) that removes the
readonly, archive, system, and hidden attributes off the file, then unsigns it,
then opens ResHacker.exe to edit it. When you close ResHacker.exe, it
automatically signs the file and adds the readonly and system attributes
(hidden and archive aren't necessary). Not very complicated if you think
about it, but it's what I use

Same problem. Internal adresses are being messed up. Tried expanding array in IDA and adding complimentary bits in HEX Editor. No luck. This has to be possible right? Shifting the entire code a few bits as to add a few characters here and there? Please someone, this is driving me nuts.
