upgrade rom code error - please help - HD2 General

i want try ROM 1.72 WWE for my HD2. But when i install ROM from SD card show this error: Upgrade ROM code error. Please try again. When i can turn phone, on display is triangle with screamer. Please help.. Sorry for my english

hi try to flash with official rom (stock rom) from computer

I can't connect my HD2 with my PC. It's look like "PC cant see my mobile"

you will have to put youre phone in bootloader,
stock or custom rom you are trying to get on ??

stock rom ( from htc web page )

turn youre phone off, hold vol down while turning phone on till you get the coloured screen, if you have the rom on your sd card if will try and do it again,
you can get on to the bootloader screen right?

I did what you told me.. but it says: NOT ALLOW 00028002

sounds to me like you have an operator locked rom. Meaning 1.72 WWE doesn't work = rom code error
power off phone,
hold pressed 'vol down'
when in coloured screen, release vol down
connect usb, you will see word 'serial' become 'usb'
run HSPL2
choose 1.66.hspl
when phone restarts return into bootloader (vol down + power)
when 'serial' becomes 'usb' run the 1.72 WWE .exe NOT from sd card, do it over usb.

woow.. Now it´s working... Thanks so mutch...

I can't split to SPL 1.42 by using my SN... HELP!

I've an HTC HD2 from orange france... I want put on it a newest rom (I have 1.43 branded orange) and I can't download from HTC sites any official roms cause my s/n is not compatible!
After reading your post about HSPL... I've tried to downgrade to 1.42 but... I can't donwload it from HTC site and without this I can't put other newest roms on my phone... I'm so lost!
how I can fix my problem?
Thank you,
Bryan
If you have rom 1.43 then you already have spl 1.42.0000.
Instal HSPL and then flash anything you like. No need to downgrade first.
Phone off
hold vol down
tap power
KEEP PRESSING VOL DOWN
wait for three coloured screen,
read spl from there
samsamuel is right. Just go into your bootloader screen by soft resetting your device while holding vol down until u see the tri-colour screen.
It should read the following:
PB81100 HX-BC
SLP1.42.000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x30
If so, then go ahead and conect to your pc to begin the HARD SPL process.
To do this, first soft reset your device again and then connect to begin. Make sure you have downloaded the <<HARD SPL FIRST>>
done. after HArd SPL, when I copy LEOIMG.nbh into my sdcard... the bootloader, ask me if I want to update my image... I press power button to confirm... and then I've read the message "not allowed 00028002"
when I restart my bootloader I can read this message "Upgrade ROM code error/ Please try again"
don't use sd card.flash from usb, problem solved.

Are you sure hspl was successful? The Not allowed 0028002 error is due to the nbh file being having the wrong CID (Carrier ID) for your device, so this shows that you are trying to flash a rom from a wrong Carrier. HSPL should bypass this check, so that seems to point to your hspl not having been successfully installed.

NEED MASSIVE AMOUNT OF HELP for HD2

whats up team... so i have a mountain of a problem... i was running the elegancia rom on my HD2 and had android v2 installed on it. i decided to change my rom to artemis version 34.5 WWE (english lang version). the zip file did not contain the custon ruu, so i downloaded the generic custom ruu from theunlockr.com the hd2 started botting but it stays on the "stick together" screen and its not budging. tired the soft reset button, tried pulling out the battery, and even tried hard reset with the volup and voldown buttons... by my calculations, i think that the ruu that i downloaded and installed is either twitch or faulty and it has been saved to the device memory, so any type of reset i do will put me back to this rom (since by now its the default). windows does not recognize the phone when connected through usb. so i am in a deadlock. does anyone know any fancy trick or am i just f***ed
The search function is still working
try searching for - flash by sd card
new develompent
from the forums u directed me to, i realized the the extrected file was in RUU-signed.nbh form, and once i downloaded the generic custom ruu, i did not change the file name to leoimg.nbh, and flashed the phone. is there anyway to flash the phone to its original settings (factory) while the phone from the spl screen?

GOT IT
ok so if anyone else has this problem when the hd2 doesnt load after "stick together" screen and wants to restore it to factory settings
1. connect ur phone to ur computer via usb
2. soft rest your phone while holding the volume down button. this will bring u to the SPL screen, and in the bottom white section it should say "usb"
3. download the stock rom for your hd2 from a website such as theunlockr.com
4. while ur phone is connected to ur pc, run the stock ruu rom
5. loading screen will appear on your phone, and there you go

[Q] Have I bricked my HD2?

I was trying to follow these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
I got as far as installing MAGLDR. When the phone restarted itself, it will not go passed the O2 welcome screen.
A hard reset (VolUp + VolDown + power) doesn't work.
If I hold vol down while I power it up it goes to the Red,Green,Blue,White screen where it says:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x30
Can someone please advise me what, if anything I can do to get my phone working again?
Thanks.
no u are not bricked just reflash magdlr when its in the tri color screen vol down + power next time post in questions forums
Turn off phone by taking out battery and put it in
Then hold down vol down and then press off/end call button
should take you to coloured screen then connect to computer and it should say usb at bottom
then download the htc hd2 software off the htc site then flash the original software and should be back to normal
every nand build i test i do the following...
1. task 29
1b. flash radio
2. magldr
3. nand build
Are you holding end button while booting? that'll take you to magldr menu.
if it doesn't, then don't fear yet, cuz it's not bricked. Bircked is when you can't even turn it on, or it doesn't boot, or something like that. You can't even enter the rainbow screen when it's bricked.

It's cool that you're trying to help but this is how people brick their phones. It's obvious, from him posting on here, that he's panicking. He'll go to htc site and just download any official rom and if he has a tmousa hd2 he's bricked it now. Not saying he does but you have to be specific with people around here. You'd be surprise how many complete newbs are on here who Just refuse to bother searching and reading

listen just download a official rom from hd rom development
and then extract the file with 7z or winrar
you will see a nbh file
change it to as follows leoimg.nbh
place it on any empty micro sd card and insert it into the phone
and then restart with holding vol down
after the tricolor screen you will see a grey screen with options for updating your rom
just follow the instructions and you will install a new wm6 rom
after that follow the video and the instructions for the noobs on the hd2 nand rom development section ,download the video and follow it as it says you will be fine.
i have been through this and this is what i did and i am with gauners hd nand version on my hd2 running perfectly

It's used to clean NAND of leftover from previous ROMs.
Sent from my HD2 Droid using XDA App
There are a few methods to fix your problem actually,
Restore back to Factory Default with Official HTC firmware
Download Official HTC HD2 O2 firmware
Extract RUU_signed.nbh from the EXE file using 7-zip
Rename RUU_signed.nbh to leoimg.nbh and copy to the root directory of SD Card that is formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 and insert it into device
Power off your device
Hold onto the Volume Down Button and Power up the device
The bootloader will auto detect the leoimg.nbh file, and will start restoring back to default. This will restore your SPL, RADIO and FIRMWARE.
RED/GREEN/BLUE method
Power down the device
Hold Volume Down button and Power up the device
You will then see the RED/GREEN/BLUE screen
Connect the device via USB to your Computer
Wait for RED/GREEN/BLUE screen to show USB on the bottom instead of SERIAL
Run RADIO Upgrade (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 2.10.50 and ABOVE)
I am GUESSING, your RADIO version is incorrect, causing it to loop.
You must use HSPL 2.08
You must use RADIO version that supports 576mb of RAM
Radio Thread
Incidentally, you can also reflash the firmware to any WINMO custom or official firmware while in RED/GREEN/BLUE screen as long as the bottom says USB and the device is really connected to the computer via USB. It might overwrite MAGLDR, and it might boot back into the official or custom firmware.
xcesivemastub8ah, both method works, again, help is "FREELY" provided to people who are willing to take the advise. People need to understand, if they tinker with something, they can and will tinker it to death. If you don't want to brick it, don't mess with it, use it as intended by the manufacturers, stock original.
No bootloader !!!!

I tried these two methods.
And what can i do if i can't enter in bootloader mode : it only reboot on bios (i think it is) and magldr.
I can't have a hard reset neither.
Radio : 2.15.5014
Hspl : 2.08
Fixed. Thanks for the help
Thank you all very much for the help and advice.
I did what was suggested and plugged it in while on tri colour screen, flashed the rom and phone is perfect again.
Your help is very much appreciated.
Next time I'll post in the questions section.

Can't flash WM6.5, stuck on WP7?

I've got WP7 on my HD2. I want to flash a custom WM6.5 again and then run Android
However I can't flash anything over WP7. CustomRUU says a Error 260 connection
When the phone is plugged in, Zune starts and can see the phone listed. However Windows Mobile Device Centre stays as not connected. I've tried a hard reset i've tried holding the VolDown and power button to no avail.
How can I revert back to WM6.5?
enter inot bootloader than flash

i've tried it from that screen, but it still doesn't seem to work :/ I think it is something i'm doing wrong and not the phone or it'll be something simple i've overlooked

You can also rename RUU_signed.nbh into leoimg.nbh and copy leoimg.nbh to your sd-card by using a card-reader, then get your screen in bootloader-mode and follow the instructions on your screen, when the update is completed, give a softreset, that should do the trick.
Regards,
Hi, I have the same problem. when try to flashback my 6.5 Room, on the 3 color screen, After After 5 minutes ... ERROR No Conection. I have HSPL version : SPL-2.08.000.
flashing back to windows phone 6.5
ensure the phone is charged more than 50%
switch the phone off
(at the same time) press the end key (hang up) and the volume down button. this will get you into the tri colour screen.
at the bottom of this screen should be written serial, at this point plug the phone into the pc, the "serial" should change to usb.
on the pc you should hear the usb plugged in confimation sound and the safely remove usb should show a device called "Qualcomm CDMA technologies MSM"
at this point start Custom RUU and proceed to flash the device as normal.
tried to make it as simple as possible
hope this helps.
edit: the tri colour screen everyone keeps talking about is the bootloader

you need HPSL, and no you don't have it cause it would say HSPL 2.xx.xxx
Thank you for your fast response,
I'm doing all the procedure exactly, but when I proceed to flash to W6.5 The progress bar stays at 0% for 3 minutes , and on my pc appears the message "of connection error". If i reset the Hd2, it boot again in WP7. Any suggestions?, I have an HD2 Leo (512) and my HSPL is 2.08.00000. Thanks in advance.
My fault, its true. In the multicolor screen appears SPL-2.08.0000 .. Now, how can i reinstall the HSPL ? ,if I have installed WP7?.
Exit the Zune program and reflash the Original stock HD2 rom, not the updated 3.14 roms.

well make sure you have HPSL, then from there power off your phone, but turn it back on by holding down the Vol down button and the power button, and keep holding it till you get to the tri color screen, connect your phone and it should say USB on the bottom of your phone, then from there flash like the regular way.

[Q] Device do not Reboot after NAND Flash

Hello,
I tryied to move my HD2 from WM to Android using the NAND Flash method.
After having run the ROMupdateutility and had a "successfull completed" message, the phone is restarting and get stuck in the reboot on a white screen with the green HTC letters.
The USB is not working anymore.
Anyway to recover ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Correct radio version? Correct spl?
What was your entire process?
i had this problem too and it was because i didn't have the correct HSPL so check if that's ur problem
thanks for your feedback.
I was also thinking that it might HSPL issu (I had the 3.03), but as I can not get any USB connection I have no clue how to change to 2.08 per exemple.
Have you any idee ?
- Start your phone in the bootloader (Power button + volume down button, keep them pressed at the same time till you get the bootloader screen)
- Connect your usb cable and flash the original 1.66 HTC ROM.
Then try to flash the HSPL and MAGLDR again.
Thanks for the tip it worked fine (got the wrong hspl...)
