Unable to register at ppcgeeks - EVO 4G General

Is registration broken or am I an idiot?
I have tried with different browsers, different machines and on different days and the registration screen continue to error off...

...which is bull**** because after the first time I have been very careful.

This has been an ongoing issue for at least a few days. I tried to register a few days ago and the image capture isn't working. Can't email them about it bc that requires a recaptcha too. It's sad that they aren't on top of this by now.

That site is nothing compared to XDA anyways. Im sure there are much more people with Evo's on this forum, than that one. I remember when the Pre came out and most the people there freaked out... "This is PPCGeeks... Not mobile phone geeks." And now the PPC is dead. Ask anyone with an HD2, ha ha ha!

The registration should be fixed. I had to disable reCAPTCHA...for some reason it broke.
Re: The Evo...we have quite a few users that migrated to the Evo and still use PPCGeeks. We were known as a WM forum, just like XDA, but both sites have adopted Android and are continuing to grow.

I had that happen at another site...
What you can do then is send a e-mail with the issue to
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
and a couple others. Chances are at least one of those is set up, and most sites have a blanket so any [email protected] goes to their inbox.

Yeah, we have [email protected] setup.
Also, it seemed to only effect a few people, so it might have been related to reCAPTCHA. The first report we got was from 6/8/10, then we never got any others until yesterday, however, we had other people successfully register during that time too.
So if its still an issue, let me know, but I changed the CAPTCHA engine and I was able to successfully register an account.

The renamed the site Samfirmware.com and are now back. They require you to register to gain access

The URL was different and the site was difficult to navigate because you had to fix the links within the site yourself. At least I did.

Worked for me just going to samsung-firmwares.com/firmwares.htm
Still does, actually... Title changed to Samfirmwares, so they're probably redirecting it now.
It was down for me for a while.

Yeah I think it was just hit or miss on how people either had it cached, bookmarked, or w/e. Either way a good heads up post for people who didn't notice this a few days back.

I am happy to hear that you are interested in my problem. My problem is I don't have what I want. Thanksgiving, whatever iteration of it you are having, is comprised of two parts, the second of which is "giving". With you giving me what I want now, you will in turn earn my thanks.

Samsung is a Korean company, so I would assume it's Korean.
Don't bother Koush with that, he hasn't been focusing on getting the fascinate kernel to compile, you'll just be forcing him to hit the delete button one more time on his PM box.
Angel or myself will discuss this with hc, jt, noobnl, Lil, a few others and figure out how best to describe our problems to them.

yes... i've been dealing with a lot of korean companies, but all the e-mail responses are not made by any sort of technical engineers or have at least the knowledge of providing the proper answers.
These ppl just take the keywords out of the question and simply replies with the best matching response from their 'pre-made' messages...
so... not really helpful unless you really call them or go up to them...

Are Tweets to @samsungukmobile being Ignored

Guys,
I posted a message in the topic 'The best way to convey your message to Samsung is via Facebook' see Post 14.
In that post I mentioned messages I am sending to @samsungukmobiles are not appearing on their web page here.
This now makes me believe that someone at Samsung is deliberately ignorinf the tweets being sent.
Given that I was told Samsung use Twitter as their prime message conveyer I am wondering what the heck is going on.
I've sent off a message to Samsung but as of yet I've not heard anything back from them.
Therefore, what I would ask of you is those that have a Twitter account, could you please send off a tweet to @samsungukmobile and afterwards look to see if it appears on their twitter page.
Again their twitter page is here.
Could you please post back stating either yes your message was added to their twitter page, or no, it was not added.
The more tweets that are cancelled the stronger my argument with them.
This way I will know one way or another if the problem is my end.

It will not get added to their page, it will be added to your own page showing that you have sent them a tweet. It will however appear in their time-line that they see privately along with the other hundreds of tweets they are bound to receive every month.

So the messages from other users (not Froyo related) that are displayed on their twitter page... how come they are generated?

Just realized, the messages from other users are simply Samsungs replies.
Okay, it then proves Samsung are merely not bothering to reply to any of the tweets being sent yes.

that's the difference in nature between Tweeter vs. Facebook
Tweeter is like a 1 way communication, it only shows what the account owner types in the page
Facebook is 2 way, you can post stuff directly into their Wall, the account owner can delete the stuff if they choose to, but if they care, they will leave it there and reply back to it, or simply ignore it.

Yes please..... Ask them:-
"It has been mentioned quite a lot of replies to @samsungukmobile are being ignored. Proof of this is shown at @samsungukmobile where there has not been any replies nor comments since the 20th Sep".
It's a long tweet so I'll leave it to you to abreviate as you see fit.

Just noticed Samsung have actually posted a tweet....... Their first since 20th Sep.
Unfortunately it has NOTHING to do with any of the issues we are talking about.... It's to do with the Galaxy Tab where they are asking readers to Check out iGizmo's piece on the Galaxy Tab, which basically is yet another marketing plan.

I've sent a few messages over the past few days but nothing back off them. Methinks their continued insistence that froyo was coming at the end of the month was wrong and they are now keeping their heads down.

the developer should take it offline till its ready for use to avoid any bad publicity. Nice initiative tough.

Hey guys,
I am still able to send Google+ invites as of 12:30pm on Saturday, July 9.
I'm happy to add people in batches. All you need to do is go to my blog and send me an email through the contact form. It's easier for me to manage the requests that way. If you would please "Like" my blog, I would appreciate the support. The "Like" button is located at the top left. Thanks guys.
I'll add people as long as I have the button available. First come first served. I go in the order of the email I receive. Hope this helps. Please follow the instructions as I get a ton of requests and those that follow the instructions get my attention quicker. Google+ invites post

No... The button appeared last night. I've stayed logged in and I'm thinking maybe it's a glitch. It appears to be gone for everyone else.....
I can send out the invites. Whether they are letting people in right now is another story. I'm getting mixed reports. Many are getting in and some are getting the over capacity message and have to join later.

This morning it was gone for me....this afternoon its now back. I've only sent out maybe 10-12 invites max from the time I got in. My buddy checked this morning who probably hasn't even sent half that many and his button was gone too. Haven't heard back from him if his is back or not though. I can't tell any real rhyme or reason to the whole off/on deal in general with the invite/ability to join process either. But I do know I like Google+ just in this testing/infancy stage a hell of alot more than Facebook.
