Pairing Jawbone 2 bluetooth - EVO 4G General

Has anyone been able to pair a Jawbone 2 with the EVO? I haven't had any luck.
My EVO was able to pair with my Dell AdamoXPS laptop.
Thanks!

ive been having the same problems my phone won't find my jawbone anyone had any luck?

Pairing to Jawbone 2
Hold button on back of headset & turn on, when light flashes red - white tell phone find new device. Done

uh no i have the regular jawbone you press the middle button and hold it to turn it on. It should connect automatically if you have paired before. Since the phone is new i haven't but the problem is the phone won't find it when pressing scan for devices. I've done it with my g1 many times without a problem but the evo seems not to pick it up.

my jawbone prime pairs just fine

I have a Jawbone 2 and paired mine up with the EVO the first time, no problems.
Make sure your bluetooth is in pairing mode. I know for the Jawbone 2, to put into pairing mode, turn the bluetooth OFF. The both the volume and power buttons at the same time. The light should blink red, white, red, white, etc. This means you are in pairing mode.
While the bluetooth is in pairing mode, on your phone go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth settings > Scan for devices

You guys are absolutely right since post #3 i didn't understand it at first. I never had to do that to my jawbone with my g1. As soon as the jawbone turned on it would pair ask for pass code '0000' and done. For some reason this step is required with the evo, it's the only way it actually found it while scanning.

I had no issues. See post #3.

I followed these instructions to a T and it still won't find it. Hmmm....I'm going to have to try another bluetooth. Weird....it detected my laptop's just fine.

Bluetooth headphones auto-pair?

Hi folks
I've got my self a pair of HP Bluetooth headphones (very nice btw!) but every time I want to use them, I have to turn on bluetooth, go into bluetooth devices, press and hold the bluetooth headphones and select "set as wireless stereo".
My question is, is there anyway of getting my phone to automatically pair with my bluetooth headphones? Rather than having to go into the bluetooth settings everytime?
Or even put a shortcut on the today page would be easier enough?
Thanks
I was having the same question, but people sais that it is not a good idea to keep your device recoverable from other devices all the time from security point of view. So, i refused from this idea

I found out that if you create a shortcut (.lnk) with notepad and put this in it:
23#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,23,1
You can get right to the bluetooth devices screen. I haven't seen how to pair something automatically though. hopefully one of the bluetooth guru's here can figure that out.
Thanks Jizzay1
Start -> link -> Tap+hold -> connected
Alot better than comms manager -> bluetooth settings -> devices -> tap+hold -> connected
Maybe someone will find a way to press a link and connect straight away, but this way I can live with in the mean time
Obviously different to bluetooth headsets. I use a Nokia HDW-3 and it connects everytime, my bluetooth is not set to discoverable either
I'm not sure why you guys have to re-pair your headsets. I never have. If bluetooth and the headset are on then I can make calls through it.

I'm having this problem with my STEREO BT headset, and it sounds like mixmasterollie is too, but it seems like the people that don't have this problem are using normal mono headsets. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
I'll have a mono headset to test tomorrow to see if my 8125 will pair with it automatically.
As iunderstood for the phone calls my STEREO headset is pairing automatically, but not for music

I just tried my friend's over the ear plantronics 510 mono headset and it pairs automatically once i turned on bluetooth on my phone and on the headset. My 8125 doesn't say anything on the screen once it's been paired, but it works.
Sounds like i just have to live with manually pairing my IOGEAR stereo headset.
Try playing with the "action" button on the headset. On mine, the volume up button has a dot on it. I turn on the BT, turn on the headset, wait a couple seconds and hit the volume up button twice. It automatically goes into wireless stereo when I do that. Boy, was I happy when I discovered that!
No such luck I'm afraid, my HP BT Headphones don't auto-pair, no matter what buttons I press on the headset
I think wireless stereo and hands free act differently, whereas the hands free ones connect automatically but the headphones only option doesn't.
Shame really!

Anyone else having issues with Bluetooth not connecting to headsets?

I am finding that sometimes my DI will not connect to a headset it is already paired with even if the device. For example, my home phone has Bluetooth built into it so that my calling my cell phone makes my home phone ring. However I generally have to manually go into Settings -> Wireless & Network -> Bluetooth settings and then manually connect to that device.
Sometimes that doesn't even work and even when I click "Scan for devices" nothing happens. I have to power off my phone and then power it back on for it to work.
It is a big pain because I will be in my car and put on my Bluetooth headset and it won't work automatically. Not fun to have to restart the phone just to get Bluetooth to work.
Any thoughts?
I've used BT headsets since the Moto V710 came to VZW.
Some phones are better than others at connecting, and the Incredible seems slightly better than the Moto Droid - or maybe about the same.
Examples (and I use a few different headsets):
I answer the phone normally and decide to switch to a headset. I power on my headset and stick it on my ear. After a few seconds I hear the "connecting" noises thru the headset and the audio switches over from phone to the headset automatically.
This is what happens most of the time. Now sometimes I do this process but nothing happens. So I then press (usually long-press, depending on the particular headset) the button on the headset to "make" it connect. Sometimes, though not very often, even this doesn't work (after trying several times) - in that case I power off the headset (not the phone!) and power it back on again and repeat.
If I turn on the headset before making a call, I have close to 100% success rate for my headset connecting normally.
This is about par for the course as far as Bluetooth goes. Some phones are better than others - and the top of the line dumb phones I've used seemed to connect a little more consistently than the various smartphones I've used.
As to your issues, if your home phone BT thing doesn't have a button to help "force" the connection, then maybe just try powering off/on BT on your phone instead of powering the phone off.
Yes i have the same problems. Not unique to the Incredible though. Just about every smartphone I've had does the same BS.
The iPhone is the only phone that worked greater than 90% of the time. Wish the Incredible was better.
Thanks for your input guys.
Coming from experiences as a long time Windows Mobile user, I never had any problems with this. I think with Windows Mobile it automatically connected to whatever Bluetooth device it had already been paired with something like 98% of the time. With this phone it is honestly 50% at the best.
I want to clarify here though that it is not just it being flakey. There is definitely something that happens with the software on the phone. How I know this is that when I have this happen and it is not connecting to any Bluetooth devices, I will go into Settings and when I press the scan for devices button, nothing at all happens. Normally it would appear to be searching.
Something is definitely happening (or not happening) and I haven't narrowed it down to figure out what it is.
I use BT headset in my truck all the time. I turn on BT before I get into the truck and turn on the headset after I am in the truck. Takes a few moments to connect.
Works every time. Only real issue is lack of hands free dialing, but if I know I will be calling someone while driving, I pre-dial the number and can with a long press on the headset redial after I am driving.
Answer the phone is not an issue.
I have the same problem.
Xlink BT gateway at home, Moto H790 headset for use in the car.
My other phones auto connect (or I get a prompt on the phone asking if I want to connect based on BT Security settings on the phone).
My HTC Incredible will sometimes auto connect, but if I disconnect the H790, it doesn't auto connect to the Xlink. If I got into Settings on the INC, and select the Xlink to connect to, the INC will tell me it failed. Same if I try to reconnect the H790.
I have to power the INC off/on.
This is unlike my other phones and Blackberries. (NOTE: I didn't try my droid with the Xlink, but it seemed to connect/disconnect/reconnect fine with my H790, unlike my INC which doesn't).

Yep, KidJoe, that does sound exactly the same. Glad to see I am not crazy. If you find a solution, post it to this thread please. I'll do the same.
Same problem here.....The MyTouch I had was 100% reliable when picking up the BT when in and out of range. I think I want a MyTouch with a 4.25 inch screen.

Bluetooth Issue

Seems that when paired with my car system (Nissan Sentra - 2007) that if I make a call, it functions, but the audio is only on the phone, not the bluetooth system.
However, when a call is received, it functions fine.
EVERY phone I have works with this car with no problems.
This will not be good if it can't pair with my car. It's the law here now.
When you are making the call is the screen blue or green...if it is green just press the bluetooth button and the bluetooth will turn on...when recieving calls it will automatically turn on when making them it doesnt well not for me at least
I haven't tried the car yet, but my external speaker (hangs in the visor) works well. I know the bluetooth in android 2.1 was pretty rough, so it's possible that the bluetooth in 2.2 still has a few issues.

My stupid "Cliq" worked fine.
The screen is green, and pushing the bluetooth icon does nothing... even tried going to speaker (sound comes out speaker), then switch back to bluetooth (which does show blue on the icon itself) and the sound is then switchhed back to just through the phone...
I'm not happy with this and these:
1) The speaker phone blows nuts
2) The camera blows nuts (as well as the sound)
3) The floppy-ass hinge is a poor design.
Other than that, man this is a freakin' fantastic phone.
Go to
Settings > Wireless & Network > Bluetooth Settings
Under Bluetooth devices does your device (car) show up as
Connected to phone audio??

Yes, it does. Also, incoming calls work fine, just outgoing is the problem.
Hmm thats weird...I guess now we just wait for a root and see what happens

It's going back to t-mo... I'm not getting fooled again - I was a Cliq owner.

Bluetooth headset problem

Hello,
Not sure if this is a common problem, I did a search but didn't find anything. When I connect my headset (Blueant Q2) to the tab, all is well. If i walk away till it disconnects and walk back to the phone it won't reconnect. Even trying to force the headset to reconnect doesn't seem to work (ie turning off and on the headset). The headset just doesn't seem to be able to detect the phone. The thing that seem to work is turn off/on the headset and then turn bluetooth on the tab off/on again. Not sure if this is normal.

Isn't really normal. Both my Blueant T1 & Samsung wep-570 disconnect within 10 meters but autoreconnect into range.

same problem here, please let me know if you now how to fix it.
Here is the same..
Also, i'm not able to give voice command such as "call mom mobile 1" as I did and I still do with milestone or iphone...
Any fix/update also for this one?
From my experience, deleting all the profiles from both the headset and the device and then reconnecting them helps. For blueant, I believe to purge all previous paired devices you need to hold the volume up/down buttons as well as the answer/power button for about 3 seconds. Turn it off then back into pairing mode and it might help. Give it a try...

[Q] Bluetooth Pairing issues

My issue today is that my bluetooth will not pair properly and remember its configurations. My initial pairing on my phone with my car's flexsmart X3 works perfect, however when I turn off my bluetooth on the phone or turn off my car and turn it back on the phone will still see the flexsmart and it will say it is paired but I get no sound. Upon further investigating I find that in the options setting that neither the call nor music tick box is checked. If I try to tick them it will think for a few seconds and then gray out and do nothing again.
I never had a problem with my note 2 or my temp replacement evo 3d remembering these settings. All I would do with those phones was pair it once and then any time I hopped in the car I would just turn onm,y phone's bluetooth and go. Now with my note 4 I have to unpair and repair the devices each and every time which is a huge pain. Once I have initially paired the bluetooth though it will stay connected without any interruptions. Also pairing for me is really fast and only takes a minute or so. My problem is that again instead of my phone remembering the current device settings that it is paired with, it will forget to associate it with calls and data after I turn the bluetooth off and then later back on even though the phone will still remember it is paired with the car bluetooth.
I have read a little bit that this is due to samsung note 4 using a newer bluetooth standard than its predecessors. Is there anyway to circumvent this issue by maybe rolling back the bluetooth drivers or something? I even thought about creating a tasker profile to help with this but still I would have to physically press the search button on the flexsmart eachtime.
First world problems I know but it gets a tad annoying having to unpair and repair my phone each and everytime I hop in my car to go somewhere if I want to listen to my music. Any and all suggestions would be great.
Also right now I am on a sprint network rooted stock 5.0.1 if that helps any
