Are you crazy or what?? It's the most sensitive screen now. I just barely touch the screen to type...Or...are u a ghost? Maybe that's why the screen can't detect ur fingers..
He asked a question, didn't ask for your opinions on the screen.
...
There are some reg tweaks and apps to change the sensitivity, check the t-mo sub forums for some reg hacks
i agree with supp dude 1, before the update it was really nice and sensitive, now i have to put pressure on the screen, it sucks haha
I barely have to touch my HD2, I have the feeling that I haven't touched it yet and it detects, so I am not sure what's up with yours, unless you are abnormal and have very low body current or something idk

Yes!! Same thing happed for me. Im not joking. Is the biggest pain for me. What can I do?
if you look in the rom development section, and in the energy rom thread theres info on a registry entry to change that adjusts the toiuch screen sensitivity.
Im having to increase the sensitivity after an upgrade of this room as it has been decreased. I dont understand why the sensitivity was changed as it was great the way it was.
I just tested the reg edit and its helped wonders for me, before it felt like the phone was lagging and being unresponsive, now the screen is sensitive again

lower values make it more sensitive, i have them both set at 20 and its nice and responsive, before it was set at 31 and 19
HKLM\HARDWARE\Setting\TouchPanel\FingerThreshold = 20 (originally 25)
I cant find the HARDWARE Thing.
I only see Classes_root
Current_user
Local_machine

Remember it's capacitive so you have to use your fingers. (skin not so much nails)

HKLM stands for Local Machine(the LM part)
HKCU for Current User(CU)

I dont understand why you can not use cleartype in landscape, is there a cab file floating around that will enable this?
Yes there is, and a registry hack likewise.

thanks for that, i am not too keen on editing the registary but i will if i have to, i dont suppose you have a link to cab file that will do it for me? (man i'm lazy!) otherwise dont worry i'll give the registary a go.
I hadn't noticed that until now. Yet another Microshaft cockup !

Paper?
What are you doing with that outdated media?
I reckon the reaosn it's not on by default in landscape is becasue subpixel smoothing does not work as well when the subpixels run top to bottom, not left to right.
Tintoy - exactly, the technique wasn't really designed for the hardware in that orientation, and suposedly gives a headache long term. And as some on PocketPcThoughts call it, BlurType
a1laserboy: do you know what I do for my day job? Lots and lots and lots of paper! Did you know it's the bleach in paper, along with the rough serrations, that causes the excruciating pain and geysers of blood coming from my poor liddle piggy. Yes, I have a low pain threshold.

if they wrote the code for subpixel hinting to have 2 different modes, one for horizontal and one for vertical orientation of the pixels, it would work.

Basically they should switch between ClearType (LCD) and their smooth font rendering as used on CRTs (where whole pixels are addressed, just 'anti-aliased')
is there a free registry edit program?
http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/2005/1/Mobile_Registry_Editor.aspx
The ETEN Dialpad is very nice, but the buttons are still too narrow and not spaced wide enough.
Plus, the History, etc. buttons on top are touching the top row of numbers and are too easy to hit by mistake (getting you out of the keypad in the middle of dialing:-(
Is there something which provides larger, more spaced out buttons?
I see posts asking for it, but can't find any alternatives.
Thanks!
O.K., is it because it is a technical issue and it would be difficult to map large, separated buttons covering most of the screen, or is it that everyone is happy with the size of the buttons.
I doubt it's the latter, since I've seen a number of posts about it, but nobody has offered a definitive answer.
Anyone?
I hope its not an hardware issue cause i'd love bigger buttons.
Sorry to be a pest, but just wondering if larger and better spaced out buttons are at all possible?
The reason I am asking, is that even in ETEN it seems that the buttons are simply wider and appear larger mostly due to the fact that they touch each other and utilize the gaps between the standard dialpad's keys. I personally like the ETEN idea a lot, but find that without spacing between the buttons, dialling is actually a bit more error prone than with the original dialler (and I keep hitting History by mistake, since it touches the "2", which can totally screw up dialling fast in a car:-(
I would play with creating some larger bitmaps, if it's within my very limited abilities, but have the feeling that spreading the buttons on a larger are on the screen involves much more than meets the eye. Am I correct in this assumption?
Anyone who has an answer to this?
(Or even better, a solution?

why would you say smart dialing works, when it does not. At least not on mine, with this installation above.
I've seen the skin a while ago, but I was reluctant to install it because people said smart dialing was off, and now I'm stuck with it because I believed you.

Can you not uninstall it? Also, here's Eten dialer _with_ smartdial. Use it and love it...

i'd love to see a dialer that takes up the whole screen and only has the following
Call History
==== (Number Display)
1 2 3
4 5 6
7 8 9
* 0 #
Granted of course the call history button can be smaller to accomodate for a larger number display and keys.

Hey guys.
I cannot get this application to run on my dual! It just loads a black screen. It works though because I can slide to unlock it without being able to see the screen which isn't all that useful!
So is this just me?
Sam
Same problem on my Kaiser
Hi there!
I am having the exact same problem on my Kaiser phone.. :-(
Who can help?
Henk.
It's known bug with certain devices but here's a workaround disable Direct Draw:
Edit your registry, navigate to \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\A_C\S2U2
Find the key DirectDraw and change the value from 1 to 0.
Funny enough on my dual I didn't have to do this tweak!
'slide' to unlock?
I assumed 'slide' to unlock was sliding the phone open..
after a couple of resets I found out that you had to 'slide' on the screen
I there really no way this to may it work with sliding the phone open,
thought this would be really nice..
Besides from this misunderstanding of mine it works fine, caller Id is very nice!

Wow.
You are actually amazing for making that work!
You know, that may be one of the best answers I have ever recieved. Thank you so much
My Wing was doing this also. I changed the name from wallpaper.gif to Wallpaper.gif and it works fine now.
Worked!
Worked fine for me; thx!
works after the registry key change, but....
It works lousy if you activate the callerID. When you get a call , the internal phone app. takes over the S2U2, and after you finish the call the screen just remained in the position of the incoming call picture of the S2U2 and you cannot do anything except soft-reset. :-(
Does anyone has an idea or suggestion?
TIA/Zohar
sorry for my stupid q:
may i know why you choose s2u2 instead of the WM6 built-in key-lock feature? just due to big wallpaper instead of the Today screen, or some other great features attracted you?
Hey good question.
I prefer it because its a sleeker interface to go with a sleek device and also mainly because it annoys iPhone users that I know.

i personally like the big caller photo most. yet i still can't make up my mind on using it for long term, because now sliding out the keypad can only wake up the device but no longer unlock it. and personally i still prefer using the green/red keys to answer/reject calls, which means the built-in key-lock feature can also do.
..and one more
It seems that all the keys and everything is locked except the iCube.
This can be activated even thouth the S2 is in keylock state.

(for Sprint Touch (Vogue) and Touch Dual (Nike))
you can lock the cube as well by adding this reg key:
[HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\Disable4SpecificApp\S2U 2]
"ClassName" = "S2U2"
is the ' ' space at the end of the key name correct? 'S2U 2' or should it be 'S2U2'?

no space. just S2U2.
i try:
regedit()
HKLM/Drivers/TouchPanel - PressureThreshold to 80866
HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings - FingerPressure to 1
Soft-Reset
It's the same of DIAMOND
I think this improve the speed reaction of touch screen
Are you really so unhappy with the standard settings? I have no problems with the response of my display, but maybe I'm just pressing hard enough .
This is a good CAB, worth a try,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=149174&d=1232643110
Got it from here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469865
It is just a reg tweak and easily uninstallable.
I like it.
I'm still curious about what the registry change is.
On my Diamond I set Finger Pressure and Pressure Treshold to 0 for best sensitivity. For the Xperia to be max sensitive I had to set 99999 to both Finger Pressure and Pressure Treshold.
So, what is the setting with the Blackstone?
Just do the screen calibration as gently as possible, that way you'll get a very responsive screen

I have both set to 0 and my screen feels very responsive.
As the titlequestion says, is it possible? I want my X1 to stay in landscapemode, AT ALL TIMES.
Registry, hack or impossible? All answers accepted
Um... I won't be of much help here, because I don't know how it was done, but i heard it was possible. So keep searching .
Start->Settings->System(Tab)->Screen->General(Tab) Screen Orientation Portrait/Landscape Dunno if permanent until you change it.
Yes, it's possible using mortscript. Then one would wonder, why would you want that?
Easy thing:
Get Schaps Advanced Config tool. Go to the setting where you can set the display orientation. Set 270 degrees to "True", 0, 90, 180 to "False".
The slideout will no longer rotate back to portrait now.
Keep in mind that other tools (AEButton, QuickMenu) can still rotate the screen if they want.
