I want to Flash to Energy.Leo.21905.Sense2.5.GTX.Themed and I got the HSPL for it. My question is where can I find the stock rom and spl for the phone incase I need to warranty exchange or return it. I have the Tmobile US 1024 Leo

Hmmm well try searching the forum. If that doesn't help, i'm sure I saw a stock T-mobile rom somewhere...HSPL will allow you to install the T-Mobile rom back onto the device. Go to T-mobile's website, i'm sure they've released an update for the HD2, you can flash that back onto the HD2. And remember to remove HSPL when you send your device back if something happpens. Hope I helped
Thanks yeah. I guess the better question is the update they released on the tmobile website is that suffecient since thats just an update?
go to t mobile section, click rom development thread, one of the top 4 or 5 threads (its a sticky) is called [rom] leo 1.5 test and stock roms or something like that, in there is a list of roms from 2.0 right up to 2.13 (stay away from those below 2.10, just for safety, some of them have dodgy spl's)
the two you should take note of are 2.10.0 and 2.13. Theyre the two stock roms that the tmous shipped with. (the 2.10.1 in that folder isnt an official stock rom, your phone will see it as a cooked rom)
Ahhh Awesome. Thanks. So if I need to send it back I uninstall the hspl and when I install the stock rom the spl is automatically put back?

depends which is your stock
if its 2.10
install the 2.10.0 stock from usb, then run hspl1024 and choose 2.08.0000
if its 2.13
run hspl1024 and choose 2.08.0000 and THEN flash the 2.13 stock from usb.
for 2.10 you can do it either way round, remove hspl first and then flash the stock, or flash teh stock then remove hspl. (because it's stock, it doesnt need hspl) for 2.13 however you must remove hspl first, because you need to flash back to spl 2.10.0000 and hspl1024 doesn't support that, so when you flash 2.13 if hspl is NOT installed then your spl will be upgraded to 2.10.0000, but if you leave hspl installed it wont remove it, and you will need to downgrade again so you can remove it, then upgrade again, lol.
my ROM is 2.13 and spl i suppose is 2.10
So who was being snotty to you. I answered all these questions in your last thread about the same thing. I ever went so far to link you to everything.
i felt a few of your replies were kinda anotty in assuming i didn't read any of the threads or didn't do searches. just to clear it up i spent weeks looking around reading before i decided to sign up and ask not because i was lazy to read but because i didn't understand it too much. also a few other people i felt were a little rude in assuming that i would be doing all of this with no computer.
Sorry if people come off that way but the information is there and it tends to get asked a lot and answered just as much so people tends to get tired of answering the same thing over and over.
I'll apologize for everybody. Sorry if we came off rude. Like I said it's all there I linked to what you needed in the other thread. I understand it can be frustrating to try and find information that doesn't contradict itself from thread to thread. The last thing you want to do is brick an expensive phone.
So you'll want to download HSPL2-sync the phone on the computer-run HSPL-follow instruction
Once that is done go into T-Mobile rom section - download one of the NRG roms( can't go wrong with his for your first flash)- unzip and put the file LEOIMG.nbh into the main directory of the memory card - turn off the phone and put into bootloader - hit the power button to load the rom - done........
Hope that helps and simplifies things for ya.
its alright man i understand there are idiots that don't read. i know my problem is with my browser the search doesn't show up so if it doesn't come up in google i don't find it. i did read though i gotta downgrade my stockrom in order to get to spl 2.08
yep HSPL 2.08 then Hard HSPL 2.08
cool cool. I sent a pm to nrgz and asked him personally to make sure the rom I chose will work but no reply I think he might have a crap ton of messages and wont read it. Waiting to see if someone will let me know. it's the gtx themed energy leo rom for 1024
Which one are you looking at I can tell you or tell you which one is the right one with the same options.
Did you have a chance to run HSPL yet?
he is talking about the gtx version of this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784
Yep it will work with no issue. Though using that one will not have any of the preloaded T-Mobile programs. As long as you know that.

Better do a lot more reading of the sticky threads and wiki on flashing a HD2 before you have another attempt at it, or you are going to give yourself the present of an expensive paperweight.

Quite why people are so obtuse when it comes to installing a ROM is beyond me. Sam is right, go to the ROM development forum and read the flashing thread it literally WALKS you step by step through the entire process and covers all eventualities. Why people expect XDA to help them when they can't be bothered to read even as far as the stickys is beyond me.
Thanks guys. I got it working!
I just didn't know how to start, because this is "stock" rom but I didn't knew if I had to instal HSPL or not.
Thanks again for helping me
Ok so I'm preparing to flash a custom rom. I'm excited. Chose Energy's Maxsense rom. I should use HSPL3 right since I have a stock rom of 2.13 with spl 2.10?
hspl first, then every thing else. good luck!
right but hspl3 will work if I just do that right? since it was made just for leo 1024 phones. just trying to make sure cuz i'm not flashin til I get confirmation. I got hspl3.exe all ready to go.
first of all you should of posted this in the ROM section, secondly if you have done you're research in the rom section you will notice that hspl3 supports, all versions of HD",
I would have another read first mate enjoy flashing
I did read. I have been reading for almost a month now and talking with some people and then HSPL3 came out and I'm trying to double check. I read mskips tutorial but I just wanna be safe and ask cuz if I mess up I can't get online and ask for help as I have no other active internet connection. I'm tethering on my device.
gotchya, at least you reading and double checking +1 for that mate, as the rom section threads say hspl 3 is ok for all Leo's now
well I know that it will work for 1024 leo I'm trying to make sure that:
If I use HSPL3 only, or if I have to use another HSPL and build up from that. make sense?
Basically I'm asking can I just use HSPL3 only or do I have to do a few HSPL's to build up to HSPL3.
no mate you only have to use one hspl, this is just called hspl 3 because the guy who made it, i guess its his 3rd revision of the program, just make sure when you run the program you chose the one that is hspl and not .0000 because .0000 is stock
so I take it if I need to warranty or exchange my phone thats how it's uninstalled is running it again and choosing HSPL .0000
you can, but i think the easiest way would be to download from htc and just re-flash the device with the carrier rom mate
AMAZING!!! ok so I got my rom flashed then did a hard reset and now i'm up and running. now I just gotta find someone to help me with a few minor problems.
Demonman are you familiar with energy rom?
Glad u made the exciting step, hope i have the guts to do it myself!!
I love energy so far. Just tryin to work this bug out though. I think there is a problem with sense.
What seems to be the trouble?........
Have you searched the energy thread?
I loaded up my phone and heres my problem.
There is a text message already in there and if I go in and swipe it to the left I don't have anymore today screen. I can hit windows button on my phone to bring up my stuff but nothing on the screen works after that until I hit the windows button.
It seems like a sense problem because I disabled sense and it works good.
I tried searching a little bit of the energy thread but didn't find any related issues so far. still looking.
Hmmm, I dont have an answer for you Im afraid.....
Your right though it does sound like a sense issue. If I were you Id post about it in the appropriate rom thread (if you havent already).
I hear that energy users receive a good level of support from the man himself...
Im sure your not the first person to have that problem and thats definately gonna be the best place to seek your answer........
Hope it works out for you.....
Out of curiosity which build of sense is in the rom your using??
Energy Maxsense 21907. It really is amazing though. Even with sense disabled at the moment it kicks balls
oh nice one mate glad you did it ok, sorry popped out so i couldn't reply, and would of been no help either im afraid lol
hahaha no prob demon. My first rom flash went perfect. though I had some troubles getting the HSPL3 to work I had to insert my sim card to get it to install hspl3.
Just a heads up, if you swipe the screen right or left in a default load, you have a blank screen because it is a black screen of quicklinks .... if you are swiping the whole screen, CHT has new pages of stuff , new whole home tabs ....
that could be what you are seeing ...

i've read lots of articles on this site. i suppose i'll need to instal another rom on my phone. i read a lot but i get little confused. i think first i have to instal HardSPL (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614) second i have to flash a radio and i can instal a rom. and on this page (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784) it says i don't need to flash a radio. which means that i just install hardspl and instal this rom... am i right?
can you guys help me what am i suppose to do... and which version of hardspl, radio and rom works well for me?
sory to ask lots of questions but i don't know enough about wm phones ( thanks for guides...
Hi, basic steps are
1. Backup your important data like contacts etc..
2. Its very IMPORTANT that you Flash HardSPL first before flashing any ROM (No worries,it only needs to be done once for you to enjoy subsequent custom ROMs). Version 2.08.HSPL is ok.
3. Browse the threads for a suitable "TMobile HD2 compatible ROM" or visit this link for comfirmed ROMs.
4. Perform a Hard reset after successfully flashing any of the ROMs
5. Enjoy!
i suggest u clear your schedule, get coffee, tea, drink(s) and visit This Link . It contains info and links to all the guides you can possibly need to push you and your device to a higher level. i wouldn't recommend trying android till you are very comfortable with flashing ROMs.
you dont need to worry about the radio just yet, because since you have a tmous phone, it already has a radio that will work with all tmous compatible roms anyway.
Well I'm gonna just say right now I'm not an expert or anything since I'm relatively new too. I'm just trying to help, I would however advise wait for a more experienced person to answer.
First, if you want to flash a ROM follow this guide for the TMOUS HD2's. It goes over how to do it, which ROMs are compatible and all that.
Yes, you do have to get HSPL (except I think there are methods when you don't, though that might just be for the international phones...). But to get HSPL you should probably use this. I don't know if it is the only thing that does it but it, from what I understand, is the most well known. It also keeps you from "bricking" your phone.
From what I understand the only time you have to flash a radio is if the ROM needs it, and the chefs will say if it needs a certain one or list ones that it works with on their ROM page. I think most of them support the radio that comes stock, though don't take my word for it. I would wait for someone else to confirm or re-explain this paragraph because I'm not completely for sure.
As for which ROM is right for you...well only you can answer that. They all are different and different ones have advantages over the others. You just gotta explore a little and see what looks nice. This is the list of ROMs that support the T-Mobile HD2 so stick to it. I don't know how up-to-date it is (meaning I don't know if there are any new ones or not) but stick to those, you can "brick" your phone otherwise.
I would however advise if you're new to WM phones to try out themes first. They are a lot safer and I don't think there is any chance of ruining your phone (the only reason I flashed mine is because I've done it with a different phone before and felt comfortable doing it). Don't do anything you are uncomfortable doing and understand all the risks that go into anything you do to your phone before you do them.
Sorry for the long post, just hope this helps a little.
Edit:
I just got double ninja'd

and what is the stock rom?
thanks again...
It looks like COM5 and COM2 are just different versions. COM5 offers more options it looks like though, but I'm not sure. Someone else can probably answer that a lot better than me. I am also unable to answer the radio question. Sorry.
As for stock ROM though, that is the ROM that came already on your HD2 when you got it.

I see u picked out Kumar's ROM...Click Here for a thread on the definitions and differences between COMs...And No, you won't need to flash a radio after installing HSPL or a custom ROM (Unless you are having problems connecting to your network in which case, u need 2 be careful 2 flash a radio known to work with Tmobile HD2).
Stock ROM is the original/default ROM which TMobile shipped with your device. Follow this guide and you can grab the stock ROM from here. The Stock ROM has to be re-flashed to your device if u ever have to return it to Tmobile as flashing a custom ROM voids your warranty. Grab useful links and watch video tutorials here.
Hope dis helps ya.

Stock rom over USB doesn't remove Hspl. That's the only way you could have a stock rom and them still be able to tell.
If you are convinced the spl was correct, then they played you just to see how you reacted.
no, thank you for searching and reading the plethora of threads on how to remove HSPL and flash a stock ROM on your phone. Don't blame us because you decided not to read, all you would have had to do is take a picture of your bootloader and ask if that looks like stock, someone would have set you straight.
If you go around blaming others for your mistakes then you can never really take responsibility for your own actions and your life will be a cold, grim, sordid affair.
ruminate on it.

Yes if you did not flash it via SD card then you needed to manually change HSPL back to SPL via the DFT HSPL Utility. Sorry you were miss informed my friend.
Edit: Are you 100% sure you flashed the correct stock ROM for your HD2? Also like Orangekid said you can only truly blame yourself as there is a crap load of threads covering this exact subject. Remember information is key, and Knowledge is power.
i removed HSPL 2.08 and put on SPL 2.08. i put on a stock WWE rom but they said that the phoen was branded to Virgin, but I know that the phone accepted any sim card
I used HSPL 3 to remove hspl and put spl on

Well, do you know which SPL comes with the Virgin branded phone? You can't just downgrade to ANY spl, it has to match with what the carrier was using at the time.
anyways i think I am going to get rid of the phone when i get it back and just get a phone with android. the phone battery life is just crap, thinking of gettin the samsung galaxy apollo if I can find somewhere to get in unlocked
the thing is i thought that the spl could be upgraded anyway with newer ROMs that came out
Spl 2.x are stock for tmous phones only. Also, the phone being network unlocked means nothing, mines unlocked but a wwe rom would be unauthorized because the phone is branded, so only o2 roms will be valid.
For others reading this when you get told "flash stock rom", the safest way is use only the rom the HTC website lets you grab using your serial.
If you plan to remove Hspl using Hspl.exe, match versions, rom 1.4 spl 1.42.0000 rom 1.6 1.7 spl 1.66.0000 rom 3.14 spl 3.03.0000
There are NO regular hd2s with spl 2.x

Yes this is true this is why I thionk it is best for people to go back to stock by just flashing via SD card as not only does it revert everything, but not everyone knows what SPL version the need for their HD2. Also you have to remember if you have to revert back to SPL 3.10.0000 you have to use the SD card method has SPL 3.10.0000 is not included in HSPL 4.

I personally still think it is better to revert back to stock via SD card as far as for warranty proposes. Cause not only does it revert everything at one time. But most people have no clue as to what the right SPL version they need is. Also HSPL does not have SPL 3.10.0000 in it so flashing via SD card is the only way to get it nack as of right now.
Edit: Sorry for the double post but as so many people were posting in this thread I thought my first post did not get through asa I did not see it at first LOL Sorry again.

That's fine but if you root the phone and flash a recovery, bootloader, splash screen, custom ROM, and/or kernel you better read up on how to return it to stock if you send it in to Samsung on warranty
also fyi I get a full day of action on my CM7 build running off SD and same with my WP7 running off NAND, your poor battery may have come from you radio, your kernel, your sd card (if you were running an SD build), your ROM, your cpu scaling settings, and/or your general usage, so I wouldn't blanket "poor battery usage" on the phone itself.

I have absolutely no sympathy for you.
This is a perfect example of somebody who doesn't do enough research and expects all the correct answers to be given to him.
If you had used common sense and done a bit of research you could have EASILY reverted to proper stock for you warranty to pass, there is no excuse as there is plenty of info available to you here.
You couldn't be bothered so its your own fault nobody elses.
Cry to mom, she may get you a Nokia 3310, which would be a much more suitable phone.

My battery life is excellent. 2-4mA on standby.
Its a common misconception that battery life is bad in general which it simply is not. I grant you that there is a few custom roms with bugs that cause high battery useage but they are in the minority.
Aslong as you do a clean install (task29 etc) and flash a good rom you are fine.
Again, you just haven't done enough research.
PS. If you think going to a native Android device will give you alot more battery life you are mistaken, even native Android uses as much battery as the HD2 does.

Hi Everyone
I'm really hoping that someone can help, I'm stuck with a slightly newer WM6.5 ROM on my UK O2 HD2.
I had WP7 on it a while back and liked it, but then the device had a hardware fault, so I flashed it back to the latest O2/HTC official ROM and sent it back for repair under warranty.
Now it's back, I can't get back onto WP7, because it needs Magldr, and Magldr needs spl 2.08 or older, and I'm stuck with spl3.03!
I've tried to flash it with two older ROMs (1.48 & 1.66) as they seem to be factory stock ones, but the device is still showing:
SPL-3. 03. HSPL
CotullaHSPL

you cant change (HS)SPL by flashing ROM
boot to bootloader and flash HSPL 2.08
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5279236&postcount=4
Ahh!
Thank you - that wasn't very clear in the threads, and I thought the only way to downgrade HSPL was to go back to a stock ROM first.
Thank you again - I'm downloading & flashing shortly.... I'll be back in a few minutes!
Perfect - HSPL4 allowed me to flash it back to HSPL2.08, so I can now get on with a new ROM!
Thank you so much much for explaining that
Shame it isn't that clear elsewhere!!

Fred
