Weird sd card issue - Droid Incredible General

I have 2 batteries... Seido and the stock battery... I was in a hurry to go out so I switched batteries... I tried to use my camera and it said sd card error... I restarted and removed it.. Put it back in... Still error..
I swap back to my seido battery and now it works fine.. Any ideas?

That IS weird. After backing up your card onto your pc, you might try formatting the card on the DI with the stock battery in and see what happens.

it seems to been a freak issue... I switched my camera storage to internal... the only thing I was mad I was losing was my pictures I took... now its been fine ever since... my sd card is kinda old... I had it in my omnia but figured I only need it to store stuff from apps that require an sd card... would maybe picking up a newer sd card help? only like a 4gb would be plenty for me... I only use 500mb of my 2 gig card as of now

Have you formatted it on the DI?

I have been just clicking the sd card in and out every time I swap batteries... I forgot last night to do it and it didn't work... So just take the extra 1/2 second when swapping the battery to click the sd card...

sd card trouble

this is the third time that i am partioning my sd card. I am using dude 1.3 it works 4 hours then it says card removed. I reboot blank sd any suggestions
buy a new SD card, sounds like the one you are using is bad. if it's less than a month old you can probably take it back to wherever you bought it and exchange but otherwise you're out the money

Death of a MicroSDHC card!

I woke up this morning to find my Nexus going crazy, home and launcher FCs and Twidroid freezing like mad, it was almost like a bad rom flash on a G1! I rebooted and received the message "SD Card is damaged" put it in the mac and sure enough a lot of files are unreadable
What's the average life for a 16gb class 2 card? It's a Sandisk brand one (a real one) but it's 'only' a class 2, never used for Apps2SD either... What a sad day!
Did you try to format your SD on your computer?
If you still can access files even damaged so you can format it and use it again
i have had nothing but trouble with the sandisk 16gb cards.. 8 gb worked fine..16gb i have had 5 fail.. i have a bad one in the drawer not even bothering sending in for lifetime replacement.. piece of crap..
i now use 16gb a-data class 6 cards from newegg.. i have 4 in 2 of my phones and sones/daughters .. no problems with any of them.
It's probably a corrupt file table. Format the card and it'll be fine.
You are incapable of "wearing out" modern flash memory in your life time.
Formatted it using my Mac which gave the usual "this SD card needs formatting" when sticking it back in the phone, formatted using the phone (then the recovery to make sure) and all is good! luckily I had a backup so that's restoring now and we'll see!
Can this sort of thing happen quite often with SD cards?

Another method to recover a card is formatting it in a camera.

I wouldn't say quite often, but I have had it happen a couple times to me over the years.
before i had rooted, my n1 had reported my card was corrupted
put it in my pc and everything was fine
ended up having to start the phone w/o the card in, then after putting it back in everything was fine
never have had the problem since, and i've reformatted from amon_ra for apps2sd also w/o any problems

Memory card issue

It seems that either my memory card or my phone is messed up..I found out when I tried to take pictures the other day. Says please insert SD card. When I take the card out and insert it back in and start the phone back up it shows this little white task thing and says ok to take SD card out or something. Not sure what's going on? Any suggestions?

format the card (backup ypur stuff first), if that does not fix it it is likely that the card needs to be replaced

Appears that my Memory card is bad. That blows, no idea how that could happen? Oh well what do you do.

Dropped phone, now it can't see my micro SD

Hi guys, I dropped my phone for the first time EVER in my life (was really sleepy).
Now I can't use my sd card, the phone gave me a popup that it was unexpectedly removed and after that it keeps saying it encountered a problem.
Things like Gallery tell me to "please insert an sd card", it's in there!
I have no idea what to do and it's at least three months left until I can get a new phone, please help me.
Oh, by the way, my phone's not rooted, just normal HTC Sense.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Thread can be closed, I was a dummy and didn't try to remove battery first.
Haha i know the feeling

try to remove it and put it back again. if that doesnt help..recover your photos and everything else with some software and format it
Oh my God..
I didn't even drop it and now it happened again!
Removing the battery and micro sd card didn't work. :crying:
Depending on what important info you have on your SD card, you could consider formatting it via your PC, if you have an SD card slot somewhere.
I had a similar issue some months ago, and formatting the card (via Windows) did the trick.
Of course, remember that formatting the card will erase all data on it, and therefore it could render some apps on your phone to be useless / or not work.
(This might sound weird, but if you have another SD card, try formatting that too and putting that in your phone. Then take out the battery, put the original SD card in and see if it is OK after booting up.)

The bad news is you may have a bad quality sd card.
Try another card.
It worked for me.

Borrow a card... you can keep the other card or sell it cheap

Yeah that's possible
thanks......
Since I changed my card to a better quality card the phone was more stable.
The other card triggered battery drains and camera crashes and then it had the unmount problem before the card eventual failed.
New one solved all problems.
