I've had a Titl2 2 since March and it's been nothing but fun. However as time went on, bigger and better things started getting made. I am highly considering the Epic and I want to know how you feel about it's overall hardware mechanics. I'm not going to ask for specifics on software since sens and android are to different.
yup i used to have a tilt2 on at&t running energy and xandroid..
when the epic was annou ced i couldnt wait its a more powerful "version" of the tilt2 with all the goodness of fully working android. slightly better battery life bigger and lighter and the screen kicks ass. i even jumped from at&t to sprint for the phone so that should say what my summation is..
if you can get it, you'll be happy. but keep in mind the tilt2 has more dev on it as it's been around longer and we're all waiting for 2.2 before the fun really gets going for roms and mods.
I owned TouchPro2 until a month ago. I had custom ROMs, most recently Energy.
Then I bought Epic4G. Played with on over WiFi for 4 weeks before activating.
Once you get used to its speed, responsiveness and general android flexibility there's no going back! So at the end of 4 weeks - good bye SERO, hello SERO premium.
Rooted/clockworkmod recovery installed, custom ROM/mixup kernel.
The good new things:
1. Android, speed, great display (albeit not so good for ebooks)
2. Tango for "facetime" chat with my brother on iPhone 7000miles away
3. Lots of free aps (ad-supported), but ads dont bother me
4. Integration with google (voice/maps/navigation etc)
5. better form factor and lighter than TP2
My grunts:
1. keyboard is not as good as TP2 (not bad, just TP2 was excellent!)
2. need to get microUSB cables/adapter
3. power button placement - phones tries to slide open every time I press it
4. delays with Froyo (should be here soon!)
5. 4G is not really helpful, I live in 4G area but don't notice much difference (except battery drain)
What I Was Afraid Of But Not Anymore
1. touch-buttons are actually easy to use
2. battery life with new rom is OK, enough for a day
3. screen is actually useable in direct sunlight
4. iphone apps still come out sooner, but android is catching up
5. there's plenty of junk in android market, but easy to rate apps/report spam
TP2 owner here. When Oct1 for SERO prem hit I picked up the epic and gave the TP2 to my daughter. I could not go back.
another tp2 owner here.. the only things i miss about the tp2 are teh community and the keyboard.. Never looking back..
I had the tilt 2, used nrgrom, jumped ship to sprint. I have had the iphone, HTC 8125, 8525, and tilt2, the Epic is the best phone I have had yet. I even got my tech buddy, who made programs for windows mobile phones, to leave at&t and his TP2, to get the Epic.

Tp2 previous user. All i can say is that i am glad i am off that old piece of sh*t.
Epic Is awesome!!!! Android is so much better then windows mobile. After seeing wp7 i knew it was time to switch to android. WP7 such an ugly UI. Rip off of zune much?
You do realize MS makes zune and wm right?

I had a TP2 for about a week. The phone I got had a disfunctional M button (had to press it REALLY hard), replaced it and the next phone had a disfunctional B button (same thing), replaced that one and traded it. Thats my experience with a TP2. Coming from a Moment with a capacitive touch screen and going to a TP2 with a resistive touch screen, i was just unable to keep lower quality older technology.
i had a mogul, TP1 and TP2 the only thing i will mis is the game xtract lol its a shame the mogul is still fully functional as if it was still new and the TP broke 4x (full keyboard failure) and the TP2 broke with in 6 mo (stuck in headphone mode)
im glad i picked samsung over htc lol
ex tp2 user here. switched to evo, then moment & now the epic. in recent months if I'm at a sprint store I pick up the tp2 & tinker. can't believe how when I first got that thing I actually thought it was fast lol. must of been the switch from tp1 lol. I admit that keyboard was great though. well now its the epic and when the next best thing comes out it will be that lol.

Oh snap, my TP2 did that after a month (not even). I fixed it, but I forgot what I did.

Great memories
Great memories using TP2, that thing was modded, bricked, flashed, what a great phone to learn from. The Epic is so much faster and i'm glad to have a physical keyboard battery life.. yeah.. so so .. Enjoy the new phone! If the epic would tilt that would have been sweetness.. to bad...
Ex TP2 user. I've had several phones since.

I'm a new Epic owner (like many former SERO TP2 owners who jumped over to SERO Premium.) I liked my TP2 very much, but the main difference I'm noticing now with the Epic (now that I've got most things set up the way I want) is that I spend less time actually using the phone than I did my TP2. And that's not a knock. On the TP2 I was constantly feeling the need to tweak and adjust things to try to optimize the experience with 3rd party ROMs, UI changes, etc. With the Epic I just USE it like an average joe would. And it's a great experience.
I'm still holding on to my TP2 though as it makes an excellent backup phone (especially since the Android build has progressed rapidly over the last couple months.) Should I ever need it again in a pinch I'll probably be able to run Android full on off the main system memory.

I had a TP2 with Sprint since last December. I was a flashaholic with energy roms for many months. I think he got the most out of it for me. I miss his thread community and spent hours tweaking, modding and flashing. Last month the back stopped fitting on right and they sent me a refurb that didn't even work out of the box. I was leaving the next day on a month long business trip and got an early upgrade to try the Epic. It is worth the money to me...even stock out of the box. It is so fast and the screen is awesome. I wasn't sure if I could break the stylus habit, but not a problem...I can hardly remember even needing it. The Epic keyboard, in my opinion, is even better than the TP2...that is saying alot! I know I type faster and make fewer mistakes. I love the spacing and the extra Android buttons. Both are/were wonderful keyboards and I still don't want a phone without a good one.
I'm really glad I switched and will not return my Epic. I'm looking forward to Froyo and evenually rooting and rom upgrades. I am sad to see so few posts for the Epic over at PPCGeeks but the community here for Epic is growing. I think that after 2.2 the developers will get going in greater numbers. I read a comment here somewhere that part of the reason is that the Epic works so well out of the box...what a concept!!! For now...for me...this is the phone!
I am muzik at PPC Geeks...splashmktg here.
Well, everyone in here seems pretty happy. I guess I'll jump on the bandwagon to after 2.2 is released. This way I can get a phone with it already installed.
I had a TP2 for about a year on Sprint. Awesome phone.
Never had any hardware problems with it, who knows how the epic will hold up. Keyboard takes some getting used to but I find myself using it less than I did on the TP2.
The epic is light years better than the TP2 though.

Another TP2 exile. It's been my primary phone for about 18 months. I would probably still be using it except that it began have random crashes requiring me to restore it from an image. All in all it was a good phone and I enjoyed it. But after using Android for a couple weeks there's no way I'd go back to WinMo 6.
I didnt want to get the G2 at first since I was just infatuated with the vibrants screen but once I got to play with it I needed to have it!
So what made you choose the G2? And how long are you gonna stick with it?

I just love it
My last 2 phones were a HTC Kaiser and a Touch Pro 2. With both I felt I had never would need another phone.
Well, more and more things were coming to Android only, a lot of apps (Facebook, maps, google's native things) look and work a whole lot better on android, so I thought to switch. I drooled over having 720p HD video.
I wanted to stick with a qwerty.
These all made me want a Desire Z.
...and Santa brought me one... ))
I chosed da g2 after droping my mt3G on the toilet. At first I wanted the vibrant but after reading and seen pics of the g2 it was a perfect match this phone has everythig I hoped for and more rooted about 5 minutes after getting it lol

I swear, for a minute I thought your reply was my reply.
Just like you, I went form a kaiser to the TP2 and now the Desire Z. Just like you, I thought my previous phones were the mother of all inventions and I wouldnt need another phone in my lifetime . I would have upgraded in November but I thought I would just hold on to the TP2 until the middle of this year but the dreaded newton rings appeared on the TP2 last week (2nd time in 6months) so I was 'forced' to upgrade. I also must have a physical keyboard but I flirted with the Desire HD and Nexus S. The DHD was just too big and the NS didnt have a keyboard. Despite all the noise about the hinge, I bit the bullet and got the Desire Z and I thank gooness I did. Absolutely no regrets. My TP2 now feels like an early 90s phone.
Just in case anyone is interested, my TP2 with a brand new screen and absolutely no scratches + all accessories and an 8GB microSD card is up for sale @ £150.

I have to admit I use the qwerty keyboard less frequently on the DZ.
Reason one: it's good to type with touch input, it even support X9 in Hungarian (while the qwerty supports English only) so it completes a lot of words right.
Reason two: I donno if this is a question of getting used to it or not, but the keyboard is a lot worse than on the TP2. I wouldn't dis it, neither the hinge, cause it's not a problem either. It's just more awkward typing on it, plus special chars in hungarian work different than previously on the TP2.
I do not regret the TP2. There are soooo many advantages of the DZ and Android they make me forget the front camera, too.
It was the only decent device my carrier offered other than the SGS which suffered the all too well known corrupted SD due to samsung failure.
I was never too crazy about the keyboard, but have grown to like and use it.
I do miss the SA screen, screen dimensions, and the device dimensions, - but the usability added by sense is amazing. Plus the DZ seems to be much faster and more stable to me based purely on my own usage.
I've gone through so many phones and the g2 impressed me so much that I had to get it. And the fact that it was one of the first phone compatible with hspa.

I'm coming from the touch pro 2. I was looking to stick with the physical keyboard and it takes a while to get to the one on the g2. I wanted a phone to have wifi calling since I do not get any service in some of my classes at college. Android apps are no iphone apps but they work. Windows mobile is highly customizable and I like being able to have the option to do so on the G2 if ever needed. I will hold on to my G2 for as long as I can or till a dual core, physical qwerty, windows phone 7 with a 4+ screen hits T-Mobile. Well a better one than the dell venue pro.

I got the G2 because I went from a Sony Ericsson as my 1st phone, Moto Razr as my 2nd, Sidekick 3 as my 3rd, Blackberry Pearl 8120 as my 4th, and G1 as my 5th.
G1 was by far my favorite phone, with the Pearl being in 2nd. I fell in love with Android, then I learned about rooting, and that was a wrap. Went from a Haykuro 1.5, to a JesusFreke 1.5, then I learned about Cyanogen. Man, oh man, were my eyes opened by the XDA community.
From the G1, the 2nd Android phone for TMO came in the form of the myTouch 3G, and I had to have it, because I had transformed into an Android fanboy. From there, I went to an HD2, for the sole fact that I hoped that Android would be ported over to it, which thankfully, is now a reality!
I switched back and forth between the HD2 and the MT3G for a while, then I stuck with the MT3G, because I wanted the genuine Android experience. I wish I bought the N1 when it first came out, but the money wasn't there, so I had to settle.
When the G2 came knocking at TMO's doorstep and I knew about phone specs now and actually saw what the G2 had, I was very impressed, and having owned its big brother, the G1, it was fate that I had to buy it.
Yes, the G2 may have some flaws like the loose hinge and less than great camera in artificial/low light conditions, but I still love this phone and would not want to trade it for an HD7, MT4G, a Galaxy S phone, or anything else offered by TMO right now.
I love this phone and I would not change my decision of purchasing it if I had the opportunity to do it all over again.
Oh, and the fact that it is the first HSPA+ phone for T-Mobile, which there is 4G in my area also is a great perk!
simple, Cyanogen has it!

That was a selling point for sure!! I started with a Samsung Moment and then A Vibrant. I changed roms like twice a day trying to find "The one". It was kinda like internet dating, lol. I had to replace one of my Vibrants and while I was waiting for the replacement they had the G2 for $0 on black Monday. The rest is history, rooted and CM6. Physically its a beautiful phone imo, though it is protected and covered with an Otterbox. Only gripe is the hinge deal, but I swype 99.9% of the time. Its just a solid phone with awesome support, yeah Cyanogen has one. I'm waiting on something Tegra 2 based to hit TMO before I get another.
I had an original MyTouch 3G, it was slow as molasses on froyo, didn't have a keyboard, and didn't have a 3.5mm jack
the G2 is the only phone released in the last 6 months that fixes these problems. Adding in the 1.7GHz(!) overclock and solid cyanogenmod support made it even better
cyanogenmod .
ahah. I bought it before I knew cyanogenmod had it.
I had the G1, and loved it. Too bad i had to return it cuz ma dad was on my ass for always being on it. what do you except? its android!
So I heard the G2 was coming out and I almost shyt my pants.
its a sexy phone. i dont mind the hinges... one thing that sucks is no front facing camera... but o well.. maybe the G3 will own?
Got a G1 shortly after launch. Tmo upgrade came along not too long ago and so did the follow up phone... the G2. Physical keyboard is a must have for me.
I can't stand a touch screen keyboard.
The new network is also a nice perk.
Let's see.....After putting almost 50 windows roms on my HD2 and of course some Android builds. I realized the phone was getting boring by the day. I missed having a physical keyboard...better apps of course, faster speeds, and better battery life.

I wanted a good phone (better than my old omnia) with a working keyboard for which i would not pay much.
I could get a motorola flipout (found it was a poor phone), an xperia x10 mini pro (it would have been good, provided the battery was not that fast empty and unremovable), or some blackberrys with small screens. I would have had to pay more than 400$ for every interesting phone with a nice screen and a keyboard.
Then, virgin mobile made a flash offer on the desire Z. I had to pay around 80$, which was nice, and a sub 40$/month service including unlimited-yet-not-that-much-unlimited internet, unlimited texts and 2hrs/month .
So i got it. Quite impressed by it actually, worth more than what i actually thought, especially now that i know debian can be installed on it
i am new to android, i had an omnia before. The improvement in feeling is huge, but i feel quite concerned about new phones. With windows phone 6.1 i could do what i wanted on it, no need to hack around to install apps that require some special hardware access or root access and so on. I did not have to install a file browser either...
I just hope phone OS designers would stop trying to limit phone usage. Anyway they currently have not succeeded, so thats fine
Simple its indestructible..

I used to be a hard core crackberry user. My first android was the MT3G- loved it, but just couldn't get used to the touchscreen keyboard while also using a BB. (didn't care much for the iphone- my 5 year old uses it now)
When the HD2 came out, I'm glad I got it asap! The hardware was what made me want it badly.. The screen size was perfect for the onscreen kb, and it was even better when we could run android.. but I got sick of being annoyed on a daily basis. And I suffered from keyboard envy.
I was going to hold out on upgrading until Spring, as I usually did, and had been following the G2 forums since the release. Early December TMo offered me BOGO if we switched back to a contract... I couldn't refuse, and a sexy G2 arrived days later.
I love it. I was concerned with giving up screen real estate, but that quickly passed. My only issue is signal strength- I only get G where I live but forced into an unlimited 4G plan though I'm always on wifi, and the "partner service" doesn't seem to work. No faults of the G2- TMo needs to get their services straight.

cuz it was called G2, and everyone knew it was gonna be good.
I thought I would share this with those of you on here who are nerdy enough to appreciate.
I got the g2 shortly after it came out, upgrading from the horrendous motorola cliq, which was an upgrade from the original G1 that I had lost in cab. The CLIQ was an experience that convinced me never to get a motorola phone again. For those of you not in the loop (consider yourself very lucky/smart) - the cliq launched with android 1.5 and motorola promised an update to 1.6 - then they said they were working on 2.0 - then 2.1. After literally 9 months of delays and promises and delays they still hadn't released 2.1 and we were still on 1.5 missing out on all the new apps. The dev community was tiny with HandlerExploit and TravisJames doing the rom work and a few sharp guys who rooted the phone and moved on to greener pastures. So i naturally jumped at the chance to get a new device on t-mobile - and the g2 with its "stock android" (and therefore easy updates and potentially more devs) pulled me in more than the vibrant/galaxy s. In retrospect, the only reason time to get a new handset is when cyanogen himself gets it.
Since getting the G2 I've devoted hours to scouring the forums, trying the latest patches and hacks before we had root, installing roms, increasing performance, comparing quadrants with my colleagues with nexus ones and droids, modding, modding, hacking, my g2 was hacked to shreds and put back together by this community into something more than just a phone - it was a powerhouse of AWESOMENESS. in between bouts of g2, i had rooted, hijacked and installed Liberty on my girlfriends droid x. Then I did it again - at my friends bar during a 30 minutes chat about how slow some random guy's droid x. I was officially addicted to the root.
Its worth noting that when I got the g2 I thought about going Office Space on the cliq. Taking it out back and beating the **** out of its evil motorola guts - but I was too happy with the g2 to care about how awful motorola and the cliq had been. In fact I had largely forgotten about my cliq until a few weeks ago when I found it push way back in a shelf. While doing some spring cleaning in my apartment I found the cliq hidden away behind a keyboard and my dreaded tax files. As I was cleaning, I avoided my girl friends death stare and kept that old hateful piece of **** cliq - there was something telling me that it had a place - that despite its evil of motoblur and bootloader bull**** there was redemption to be had for that briq of a phone. I was not ready to say goodbye to the CLIQ - no matter how evil its maker was, it was still a droid at heart.
Then my G2 broke last Sunday. The screen just wigged out and started showing black and white lines. I could still receive phone calls due to turning on the "trackbutton to accept" option in cm7 but that was it. So there I was, with a broken G2 - no ball and chain to the office email, no constant facebook messages, no calls from my girl asking me to pick up a bottle of wine when i'm a block from her place, no text messages interrupting my dinners, but most of all, no phone to flash nightlies and mod - I was understandably a total mess.
I went to the t-mobile store first thing on Monday - they said it was manufacturing defect and accepted the phone without issue. However, they wouldn't give me a new one on the spot - i would have to wait till corporate mailed me a new one.
I went home, dejected, wanted to throw on my headset and listen to pandora - but with no g2 to pair it to. But in the midst of sorrow, I saw the CLIQ. The path to redemption had begun. I went to work - scouring the old forums and Handler Exploits simply-android site. By the end of the evening I was running Cyanogen Mod 6 and had that thing overclocked to a gut wrenching 768 mghz - about half of what my g2 was running at. I stripped down the system/app and system/lib getting rid of every unnecessary app to get the sluggish system to go faster. Finally i was surfing, texting, checking facebook - without wanting to break the damn phone in half.
I ran a quadrant on it today: 362. Not 3620 tegra zone scores - not the 2800 i was pulling on the g2 - no this was 362 MOTO BRIQ scores. My colleague here at the office whose OG Droid is running CM thanks to me is running angry birds and I can barely get Maps to run without lag. I feel like i've gone from a Ferrari to a Model T - but hey, I can still make phone calls and post to FB. I just hope that and my girl's droid x will be enough android to get by till Monday.
Nice story! I feel your pain. There's a Cliq xt waiting to serve backup duty in the event that my G2 meets an early demise. If I ever need to put it into service, rooting will be a necessary step.

Nice read, and my condolences on your loss Hopefully they overnight that RMA to you ASAP.
Before the G2, I was using a $20 prepaid phone right off the shelf. I was super frugal and never thought it would be worth it to dish out the extra coin for the data plan. There's no ****ing going back now.
Excellently composed! I believe you have summed up the feelings most of the community here! I hope you get your replacement back as soon as possible! I too had a dreaded briq, divorced it for a MyTouch 1.2 and arrived here at the G2. Unfortunately I have no backup phone.. All my old devices move to greener pastures where less the less tech savvy roam.

I do feel your pain! I recently traded my Vibrant for my G2, and as I had no previous trade history on XDA, I had to send my phone first. The week with my cliq xt was interesting! First thing I did was rooted it and got 2.1 running on it. It still wouldn't play Angry Birds, but it was enough droid to get me through the week.
Thanks for the story. I have a Cliq too, which I finally got tired of in January and picked up a G2. If it wasn't for the devs like HandlerExploit, Travis James, toxigenicpoem, J_r0dd, adlx, sudoadam, kb7sqi, and others, I would have dumped it long before. Most of the devs were walking away from it, so I figured it was time to move on. Although I follow csolanol, br3ttu, and ngiordano on Twitter and see they are still working hard on it, getting CM ported over (CM4Morrison).
Motorola really screwed up on that device. Worse off though are the international Cliq users and the CliqXT users. They're stuck on 1.5. What a debacle.
I chose the G2 specifically because of the manufacturer and the dev support. Will probably be running this device for some time, love it.

I had my N1 stolen a month ago, and now I'm on my old TyTN 2, with android flashed onto it. Can't wait to pick up my new DZ when I go to the states next month. It's already at home waiting for me.
To round out this story...
I just sold that CLIQ for $100.
You're lucky you've even got that. If my G2 ever breaks and I can't send it in, I'm stuck with an old Samsung T349. But that was a pretty good story there.

As someone who's been looking to get rid of his Cliq XT but never got around to it, you're a more forgiving man than I. haha
my wife and i both have g2s, the spare is the new motorola cliq in the closet lol
Heh, my Cliq is in my night stand collecting dust. I haven't touched it since I got my G2 about four months ago.
I may break it out though as the guys over at Simply Android have ported over CM7 for it. Curious to see how it runs.
Wow. That story almost matches mine. My G1 crapped out on me, the dev community for the Cliq is tiny at best (with Handler and j_r0dd doing all the work), but my G2 still works and I abuse the f--k out of it. I was thinking of getting either the G2x or the Sidekick 4G next.
Oh, I still use the Cliq...just to make sure my laptop can still read Motorola devices.
You could say the HTC EVO had a good run and still to this day has an advantage over its competition, but now with the arrival of newer and beefier-spec'd phones, the EVO is already one foot in the grave...or is it? Let us be proud of what the EVO gave to us that other phones didn't for months...
1.) America's first WiMax/4G phone - We've enjoyed running a 4G network for 4 or so months before other carriers hopped onboard
2.) first Android phone with front facing camera - it didn't take long for other competitors to have one, IPhone4 for example..but ours was fully functional, no wifi only.
3.) the kickstand - not the first phone with a kickstand. it kickstarted the trend into other HTC phones- Inspire 4G, Thunderbolt. i don't see the competition having kickstands on their phones...or maybe they just don't care about it.
4.) Android OS - what other phones can say they have run Eclair, Froyo and NOW Gingerbread in the span of their lifetime?
5.) the XDA community - the best support from the developers with the most ROMs than any other phone available. there's almost two-hundred roms available according to the list at PPC geeks...although half of those are not supported anymore..but still that is alot of roms...
there are probably more i can't remember. feel free to chime in.
in summary, i'm still keeping my EVO even when i'm gonna replace it soon with something better. nope not going to trade it in or sell it on ebay. love my evo.
This has been the best phone I have ever owned hands down. When I get my 3d, this will be staying in the family. My eldest daughter is just dying for me to give her my evo, so I guess I will.

The EVO the best phone I have used I just hope HTC and sprint keep working on updates for it. Hopfully we will see a new sence version sometime soon.

In July, I will have it for a year. First phone I kept for more than 6 months (not including my old Nokia 8260 from almost a decade ago, which I had for ALMOST a year). I just discovered rooting and flashing ROMs, so honeslty... I'll probably keep it even longer! With all the different ROMs etc... It's almost like a different phone with every flash!
Today, I have used my EVO for one full year. That is the longest I have ever used the same model phone consistently... in my entire life. And it is definitely still not slow.
Only phone that I have had that hasn't felt obsolete after a month. Our Evo has stayed on the front lines for a whole year!! I am a proud owner.
Sent from from my future Evo 3D. Thank you HTC
You're telling me! I don't even hold on to women this long!

I'm planning to get an Evo3D off contract price and use it via WiFi.. I guess I could go phoneless with it until my current contract is up.. and the idea of carrying two phones with me in my pocket... will do will do lol
Happy bday EVO. Goodbye warranty.

I didn't get mine until last August, but this phone has hands down been the best phone I have ever had! I had a pretty bad track record of only keeping phones for a few months and moving on. 10 months later, I'm still rockin' it, with Sense 3.0, and still loving everything about it!
I've had mine for a little over 2 months now. The reviews from peers were what made me get it then and not wait for the 3D (well and the ? about rooting the 3D)
I love it so much, my wife just got one so we could be the same. It's clearly the best phone I have ever owned.

I've had my EVO since Google I/O last year. I was considering moving to Nexus S 4G but have decided to stick with the EVO due to strong Dev support. CM7 specifically. Also great kernel support and battery with tiamat.
I think I'll stick with the EVO until I/O next year.
I love this phone. If I didn't just get a tablet then I'd be itching for a new phone. Now that I have a tablet though... I hardly tinker with the phone anymore haha.
I got my EVO last summer. As soon as I saw my brothers, I had to have one. I plan on keeping mine for a while. It has been fun flashing roms and using the apps. I am still happy with mine.
Just an fyi the nexus one went eclair-froyo-gingerbread first.
Alas I have much happier with my evo then my nexus

I bought the original Evo 4G two years ago after it had been out a year. Never rooted it or anything so I've been stuck on 2.3.5 for the past year and a half. So, when I pick up the One when it finally arrives in the States, it's going to be a HUGE upgrade for me. I've been pretty into android news since I got it, but can anyone who has a One now or a recent phone fill me in on the changes to expect in android and sense that have happened in the past few years? Like there's no SD, but can I still use my One for mass storage? Or does sense still restart all the time due to a lack of memory (plagued me ever since the gingerbread update came)? Thanks for any help.

Some will be the same, some will be different. You'll figure it out soon enough when you get the phone.
If you want to know everything that has changed, Google is your best bet.

You are going to love it.
Imagine going from a bicycle to a motorcycle.
I never owned the Evo 4G, but looking at the specs of the Evo, you're in for a huge upgrade.
First thing you will notice is the clarity of the screen. The One has 4.8 times as many pixels on the screen as the Evo.
Second thing you will notice is how much lighter the phone is. The Evo 4G is 170g. The One is almost 30g lighter than the Evo, however it is heavier than the One X. I'm pretty sure you're going to worry about dropping it.
As for storage, you could have upgraded your sd card in the Evo to 32GB. The One comes with 32GB or 64GB of non-removable storage. If you were able to manage with 32GB on your Evo, then you should be fine.
Finally, the software. Again, I've only used Sense 4 and I've never had problems with it. All indications show that it will be smooth as butter. Chances are there will be minimal lag if any at all. The One has 4 times as much memory than the Evo 4G.
I actually think this will feel like moving from a dumb phone to a smartphone all over again for you. That is not to say that the Evo 4G is not a smartphone, but lets be honest, a lot has changed in three years.
Im going to be coming from a Sensation XE!
Bit newer then your EVO but I should notice a big speed difference.
