Questions about Network Plugin in WM6 - Networking

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so I apologize if its not.
Anyway, I've been trying to get my P3600 to have access to my shared folders over Wifi.
The ROM I'm using with an HTC Network Plugin for File Explorer. The plugin recognizes the computers in my network, but it never shows the actual folders. And if I try to map a folder manually by adding the remote path it just says "Map Drive failed".
I tried installing another network plugin ("boz network plugin") but now I can't get it to run cause I think the one in the rom is overriding this one, and I can't for the boz plugin to run.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Internet Sharing CAB File for WM2003

Hello!
I am looking for the cab file (if there exist any extracted one) that is found in most of the WM5 and WM6 OS. It is the Internet Sharing program that lets you connect your PC using USB to the internet. I have searched everywhere but could not find it. I did find the Vista drivers though but I cannot use the internet sharing without first activating it on the mobile phone. This is for a HP 6315 that has WM2003.

I don't have a CAB file but I extracted this from an HTC Universal ROM. Just copy and paste this file in the Windows folder, then create a shortcut icon in Windows>Start Menu>Programs.
---
I will try it today after work and let you know if it works in WM2003. Thanks!

My PDA (iPAQ 1940, wm2003) told me it's not a pocket pc valid application
And i think it's not a w32 application...
I'm searching for a way to simplify the connection between my PPC and my UBUNTU laptop...
And wm2003 doesn't have a native program to do that
Thanks
internet sharing will only work with WM5 not WM2003, which is the reason your ppc says that it is not a invalid ppc application
Internet connection sharing is a new feature of wm5 networking. It wont work on devices with previous os.
The error that it gave you is because of the fact that it's compiled for a target CPU that is different from yours.
I would very much like to get a utility that can work in windows mobile 2003, with similar features of internet sharing in wm5 or wm6, so that I can share the internet connection of my ppc in my laptop while I can still receive phone calls and text messages. Can anyone develop such a tool?
Ok, i understand...
I have to try out other roads to share my internet connection from ubuntu to my pda
Tnx to all!
I will try the programe for my FS LOOX T830. Thanks
I don't have any.I will try to apply that.

You need to install the network plugin cab file (http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/Kaiser Cab Collections/HTC Network Plugin_mui_0409.cab)
since my ROM is italian, I have to change something when I try to install it?
No. It's not ROM dependent (language).

How to "attach" USB Tool and activate "Internet Sharing" automatically at startup ?

How to "attach" USB Tool and activate "Internet Sharing" automatically at startup ?
I "liberated" my XP downgraded HTC Shift and succesfully tested 3G connectivity.
The problem is that every time I restart the device, I have to:
1) enter WM
2) Attach device via USB Tool
3) Enable Internet sharing
As WM is an operating system, I guess how to do this automatically. Can I write a "bat" file to do these steps or do you have any advice to achieve this ?
Any help MUCh appreciated.
Regards.

go to wm -win start menu --settings--connection--ub to pc--enable advance network connectivity.
this should fix the problem, cheers
Unfortunately, it does not solve the problem.
I noticed that the only thing I have to do is to activate Internet Sharing.
How to do this at startup, automatically ? Has WinMo some autoexec file or startup folder ?
Thanks.
Up, please. I'm so near to surf only starting up my shift
Up. Up. Up. Up.
Yes I'm sure you can do all of that with Mort Script,
Good luck!
And don't forget to post your final results so other users would enjoy of that!
unapproachable2kx,
can you support me ?
Maybe you can just drop the shortcut for the application on the startup folder or maybe DotFred's TaskManager can help(http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm).

WinMo has a startup folder (\windows\startup\) that you can create a shortcut for "Internet Sharing" inside, the problem is that you need a parameter with the shortcut to run the "Activate" conmmand in "Internet Sharing"; 'cause a normal shortcut will just run the app, then you'll have to press Activate manually (we want to automate that too); same thing for "USBTool". Unfortunaltely, I don't know the set of parameters for the shortcuts.
Or try looking for some advanced shortcut creation tools for WinMo, like in this list

New WIFI Problem - No Connection

I've been crawling through the internet for 2 days now, still found no solution. (even used the search-form of course).
My HTC Wizard does not connect to WLAN.
it is a MDA Vario - AKU3-Rom (official from T-Mobile), IPL + SPL 3.08, no-CID, no-SIMLOCK...
Description:
When i open the comm manager, it shows the icon for not-connected wlan. when i click it, there is the "windows is running"-animation, but nothing happens.
The same with 3rd party devices (like Homescreen++, WIFIFOFUM). I dunno what to do... PLEASE HELP!
Start->Settings->Connections->WLAN contains only grayed textfields (SSID, Modus, BSSID, Tx-Rate, Channel, Signal quality) and there is no MAC- or IP-address specified...
Start->Settings->Connections->Network Cards does not show any networks, but a variety of drivers (i think) like: NE2000-compatible Networkdriver, SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter. Upon opening them and selecting the automatic ip-gain the IP-Field says "no connection" instead of an IP-address...
(Pictures are from Bottoms-ROM, nothing has changed however i tried different ROMS...).

I have the same problem. Please someone help!
Try the following:
First use File Explorer on the device (or equally, browse device via computer and ActiveSync) and check to see if you have a file WifiInit showing in Windows\StartUp\ folder. This is the .lnk to the WifiInit.exe file in root the \Windows\ folder.
i) If the shortcut is present in the StartUp folder delete the shortcut (only) and soft reset your device. After re-boot try turning on WiFi. If it still doesn't work, then navigate to the WifiInit.exe in the root of Windows folder and click it to run the exe. Then try the Wifi again.
ii) If the shorcut is not present in the \Windows\Startup folder, then navigate to the WifiInit file in \Windows\ root, click it to run and check if WiFi works after that. If it does then you need to create shortcut in the \Windows\StartUp\ folder
Anything beyond this I cannot help further with.
Good Luck
Thnaks for your interest Nandaly!
Okay, i tried it with the O2-ROM installed.
There was the link in StartUp having 26Bytes on the phone.
WiFi still doesn't work after soft-reset.
So i looked in the Windows folder and there are 2 files: a link to WiFiInit.exe (sic!) and the file itself.
WiFiInit.exe (6.95KB) doesn't respond to clicking on it.
Wifi is now grayed out in the CommMgr.
With a new link in StartUp it's not grayed out anymore, but it doesn't work...
What i've seen on bootup is that the Wiz seemingly is trying to start the wifi and fails. (it takes longer before it launches the TouchFlow interface)
So i fear that the WiFi-EPROM is corrupted or it has sth to do with the battery that i had to revive. Since i didn't smash my device into the corner, i bet it is not a loose antenna...

Internet sharing stock files/cab request (can't connect)

Hey after flashing my tp2 (Energy rom titanium w/manila 2.1 june 19 2010 rom) and installing a few cabs i cant get a connection to the share my internet connection by usb on my pc. I don't know if it was the rom or the cabs i installed. (Im using T-mobile data, epc.tmobile.com)
Under the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Comm/InternetSharing in the settings folder there is a file named: "Default", data: "value not set", Type REG_NONE. Under the status folder that same file is there along another NAME: Enable, Data0x00000001(1), Type REG_DWORD. This is when i have the phone connected to pc and using internet sharing. I think my registry might be messed . The device is recognize that is trying to access the internet on the PC but it just doesn't establish the connection. Can anyone help me out? Is there such thing as a stock internet sharing cab or if some one sent me their registry files would that fix the problem? Thankx
