Hello!
I am looking for the cab file (if there exist any extracted one) that is found in most of the WM5 and WM6 OS. It is the Internet Sharing program that lets you connect your PC using USB to the internet. I have searched everywhere but could not find it. I did find the Vista drivers though but I cannot use the internet sharing without first activating it on the mobile phone. This is for a HP 6315 that has WM2003.

I don't have a CAB file but I extracted this from an HTC Universal ROM. Just copy and paste this file in the Windows folder, then create a shortcut icon in Windows>Start Menu>Programs.
---
I will try it today after work and let you know if it works in WM2003. Thanks!

My PDA (iPAQ 1940, wm2003) told me it's not a pocket pc valid application
And i think it's not a w32 application...
I'm searching for a way to simplify the connection between my PPC and my UBUNTU laptop...
And wm2003 doesn't have a native program to do that
Thanks
internet sharing will only work with WM5 not WM2003, which is the reason your ppc says that it is not a invalid ppc application
Internet connection sharing is a new feature of wm5 networking. It wont work on devices with previous os.
The error that it gave you is because of the fact that it's compiled for a target CPU that is different from yours.
I would very much like to get a utility that can work in windows mobile 2003, with similar features of internet sharing in wm5 or wm6, so that I can share the internet connection of my ppc in my laptop while I can still receive phone calls and text messages. Can anyone develop such a tool?
Ok, i understand...
I have to try out other roads to share my internet connection from ubuntu to my pda
Tnx to all!
I will try the programe for my FS LOOX T830. Thanks
I don't have any.I will try to apply that.

Hi
I have purchased French map software for a PDA and it works fine on my iPaq 4150. In order for the software to work you have to download the PPC version from within the PC program however it refuses to download the software to the iMate JAM as it does not recognise the device. I would like to manually download this file to the jam and see if it can be manually installed. There is no cab file on the CD for me copy so is there a method by which i can create a cab file from my ipaq installation and reinstall on to the jam.
Any suggestions would be great as i am becoming a bit unstuck as their support desk only speak french and unfortunately mine is of the pidgeon variety.
Thanks

Usually the cabs created after installation in Program Files of your PC or in Microsoft ActiveSync folder...search or browse...
Editing or changing the compatible device used the "WinCE Cab Manager" (google it)
This is my first post and I have looked around but it seems no one has the same problem with me or I could miss something.
I just got a MDA compact from T-Mobile UK. I wanted to install some applications but I can only use .CAB files. When I tried to execute a .exe file it says "'file_name' is not a valid Pocket PC application". After that I found out my MDA using Pocket PC platform.
Question is how I can use those .exe files. Would upgrading ROM help?
If they are the correct .exe programs for Pocket PC 2003 SE then I believe they can be installed via ActiveSync.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
Re: T-Mobile MDA compact with PocketPC platform can't run .e

By far the most .exe files you can download from the Internet for a PocketPC are actually installers that need to be run on your desktop PC, not on the PocketPC itself. Make sure your PocketPC is connected to your PC and ActiveSync is running, then try starting these .exe on your PC.
If your desktop machine is a Mac or any other non-Windows PC, you are out of luck basically - then you need to ask someone with a Windows PC to run these .exe for you, grab the extracted .cab from some temporary directory, and give those to you.
Cheers
Daniel
Just for the sake of completeness, you cannot install Smartphone software on a Pocket PC, despite the similarly-named OS
misunderstanding
so far that I know, exe can only be executed on the desktop pc. while cab files u can executed it in ur pocket pc.
Omg...I'm so dumb...
Thanks a bunch guys
If I install the Windows Update.xml from the XPlode package can I then problem-free my equipment update or can thereby are determined that I no legal WM6 use?
Sorry for my bad English.
tested this function but not new updates are available.
hello!
do i have to install those included XML-files in explode's cab pack as well?
how can i install XML files....?
pleas help!
thx,krz
The readme file xplode put into the archive has the instructions.
or everyone can use cabs2.rar
so if you have both cabs.rar and cabs2.rar you will have in one place a cab for installing mms and a cab for enable it in messaging app, a cab for installing windows update and a cab for import server settings for update (enable the capability of update), and a cab for windows mobile device center under windows vista (some settings about manifacturer - t-mobile and model mdaiii, support link, high res BA icon). So you have no more xml files, i created cabs from them for easy install

okay! lets see if i got that right! if i use the updated cabs from cabs2.rar, the XML files from the original cabs.rar become obsolete, right?!?
very cool, thx guys...
yes you understood me right
I have installed both cabs, but when I try to search for updates it says "connection to the update server was not available. Check your data connections and ensure the date and time are correct."
I have done this, but with no luck???
you did not install the WU enable cab, or the instalation was unsuccesfull try to install it again
Hi all,..
I would like to know if it is possible to use the WM6 internet sharing on a official T-Mobile NL WM5 ROM.
Is there a (working) CAB file or something?
Regards
A.
Just copy the files to the Windows folder and create a shortcut under Start Menu>Programs>whatever folder you want.
Try this. Let us know if it works.

Well,..
same error. I've recently tried the CAB file from an earlier post (maybe the same one as this one),...and get the error:
INTShRUI.exe is not a Valid PocketPC application.
please advice...
regards
A.
Cheers, been looking for this
Thanks for that, have been looking for this app. for awhile now.
Softbank X01HT (Hermes) ROM contains those files, but reports "IntShrUI.exe is not a valid Pocket PC Application" when executed. The files on the X01HT ROM were: IntShrUI.exe 184 bytes, intshare.dll 208bytes.
The files posted above execute properly and detect my net connections. Now I just need to find out what to do about this message: "Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To change your connections settings tap Settings."
Will post if I find the answer.
INTShRUI.exe is not a Valid PocketPC application.

You need to install the network plugin cab file (http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/Kaiser Cab Collections/HTC Network Plugin_mui_0409.cab)
since my ROM is italian, I have to change something when I try to install it?
No. It's not ROM dependent (language).
