BUt they are using ones without mic, i think.

I got one nice thing (appart from some more) with my X10, it's a cord with only a mic on it and the mic has a regular 3.5 headphone jack for use with whatever headphones or spekars that you'd like, also the mic has an answering button. Should be able to find it at retailers.

Woopz shouldav wrote that i found another way.. that was to use meridian as my music app.. lookz ok, works pretty quick, pauses music when callz arrive and theres option to continue after call endz, ability to create playlists, also has a nice music control widget which mediascape lacks and drainz much less than it an all. Id highly recommend it if you use mediascape alot for music!!
Ps - if it helpz.. i tested mediascape once last week, full volume using earphones, no wifi, 3g, bt or gps.. in 1hr it drained 13%, did the same test next day with meridian app and lost 3%.. did that same test during this week except i accidentally had 3g left on and miracally it used up only 1%!
Hope it helpz!!

I use regular headphones with the X10, when I get a phone call while listening to music, it pauses, lets me answer the call, then resumes when I plug the headphones back in.
Could be another carrier specific thing though, since talking on trains/loud music is not allowed here.

Hmm jus outta curiosity (although i stil prefer meridian) do you straight away put your headphones in after call or take your time?
Ps - did extra test on meridian, same scenario except this time it was for just over 8hrz.. lost 40%!

[Q] How can I disable the wired headset button for music?

I ride a Kawasaki Ninja, and it's become increasingly difficult to be able to have one ear listening to music lately (using my Vibrant as my MP3 player).
The issue:
While riding at speeds greater than 15-20mph, the button on my wired headset is activated by the wind constantly (both the stock wired headset that came with it, and my new Skull Candy ones). This causes my music to "sputter" the whole time I'm moving. I thought maybe it was just the stock headset, so I went and got a really nice set....and...same problem. Apparently, it has to do with the wind blowing into that mic/button area, and activating the button. Both headests normally work just fine, but that wind is causing an issue when riding...
What I'm looking for:
I'm looking for a way to disable the headset pickup/hangup/play/pause button. At the very least, just the play/pause part of it, but I haven't found any solution yet.
My music randomly pauses for no reason... I think the button is just broken.
I too would like to disable the button.
Bump
Ideas? Anyone? Getting desperate...
Try a diffrent music player, also dig aroung the settings in the app

There's an app called poweramp and it has an option to disable the button (I think) the app can be found in the Vibrant themes n apps thread

Put duct tape over that part of the headset?
Use earphones with no button? Like the ipod ones?
Looking for an actual fix...
Reasoning:
1) Using a headset without a button:
I don't want to have to carry around 2 headsets (one for music, one for phone)2) Using a different app:
I want to be able to use things like Pandora Radio, which only really plays out of one player.3) Duct tape:
I could just as easily pour super-glue into the button cavity...oh, wait...no

Evo bluetooth

I have the jawbone bluetooth headset and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to make the speaker sound come from the headset.....i know if im playing music and I press the button on the headset so I tells me the battery life remaining there will be a brief period of time (few second max) where what im playing will come to the headset, then reverts back to the speakers.....maybe an app, or just playing with the settings?
I'm a flashaholic! When in doubt, flash it out -PR w0nderbread
Pretty sure that the regular Jawbone will not do what you desire. Though the Jawbone Icon and Era will I believe. I know my Motorola Finiti will do it.
It is an icon...i figured there would be an app to hold the connection open from phone to headset so the speakers would play from the icon, or just altering some config files.....how did u get ur to work?

Have you updated your jawbone to a2dp. Its on the mytalk section of Jawbones site. You can also change the voice and the long press app for voice dial and such.

Annoying Mediascape Bug

Hi all,
I'm not sure if this issue happens with earlier firmwares, but I've just started using Mediascape a lot every day (with the latest 2.1 UXP update)
If I'm listening to music, with headphones plugged in, and I get a call, and since my headphones don't have a mic, I pull them out and take the call. But once I'm done, and the call ends, the music starts playing again... through the phone's speaker. This is pretty annoying.. other music players like Winamp, Poweramp don't have this issue. They wait till you plug in the headphones again before playing.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any fix?
Ummm... This only happens in 1.6. After 2.1, you can answer calls while listening to music. You'll just have to speak through the phone's mic (the one you usual use when you are on a normal call).
When you end the call, the music will resume playing through your earphones, not through speaker.
But if I don't remember wrongly, when I was on 1.6, the music didn't resume after I ended calls =/
I think you should reinstall 2.1? Or maybe take it to the service center.
haha I'm going to look very funny if i try that... but let me see. I assumed that if I plugged in my headphones then the phone's mic would be deactivated. Thanks for the tip, I'll try that next time
goddam.... Lonelee is right.. Nobody ever mentioned that improvement!.. I hated having to use the poxy inline microphone adapter.. YEAY!

Yeah, it's kinda weird, I agree... Like holding a piece of cake attempting to bite it. Haha,
Should be fine with 2.1 ...... With my MW600's you get an option during a call or when taking a call with a button on screen that will kill your bluetooth so you can continue the call via the handset and it pauses your music when you hang up it resumes your music too via the MW600's
I prefer to use the handset to talk and listen so this is a bonus for me
Yeah but I am talking about headphones.
I hate bluetooth earpieces - they seem so rude. You think someone is talking to you till you realize they have something in their ear

Call's people whilst an AUX jack is in.

I've checked high and low on the forums for something similar or a solution to my problem, but alas I can't find anything so I'm starting a thread.
As the title state's my phone rings people whenever an AUX jack is in, listening to music, or hooked up to a stereo. I've tried restoring to factory setting's also I've tried different headphones and stereo's but still no joy.
T-Mobile
HTC HD Desire HD.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
Flynn.
Hmm, maybe I've got a similar probelm, I use normal 3.5mm in-ear headphones with my Desire HD and they are able to make strange things, if I gently move the jack, sometimes my phones starts a call to the latest called person, sometimes it skips to the next song, sometimes the music is paused.
I think that has something to to with the default headset funcionality, but it would be great if there was a way to lock any function other than playing music if no multi-functional headset is plugged in.
You're going to think I'm nuts but I've tried everything.
It seems to go berserk when you do a screwing motion with the 3.5mm jack. It doesn't make any difference what headphones I use whether they've got any calling buttons on them or not they just go absolutely mental.
I will admit to doing the calling bug that increases the music volume when you hang up straight after making the call.
But I still can't get around it and it's VERY frustrating, especially in the car.
The same problem
Hey, i have the same problem. This morning i was listening to music on my way to school. And all of the sudden it went berserk, started calling, skipping. What to do?
That happens if the AUX wire passes a current (many times stray) back to the phone. The phone just reacts in the way it would if a button was pressed on one of those headphones having an in-line mic/button.
A lot of times this stray current comes because of static build-up. I'm sure you guys know how to get rid of that. If it's not because of static, it might be because of faulty wiring on the audio enhancement (not usually the case), or if the audio enhancement and the phone function at hugely different potential differences (also, usually not the case).
As far as mine is concerned, freeing it of static usually helps.
One way to quickly judge if it's static that's the problem is if the call/skip/whatever usually takes place the minute you plug it in.

Search for an app on the market called "headset blocker"
NO luck
The above post helps,
However im testing the new ICS rom by Lord Clockan and twistedumbrella and there is no compatability for ICS. Wondering is anyone knows what part of the phone controls headset controls so i can mak an app to block it on 4.0?
Its a real pain as i cant play music at all,
random apps start playing music over other apps and music stops in others, skips tracks etc. SO frustrating.
Take out headphones
Blow into the jack hole
Plug back in headphones
Sorted till the next time crap builds up in there.

I have the same problem. And its realy anoyeing me . Cant listen to music at all anymore on my desire HD...
I have that problem for a while now. The blwoing inside technik did work for a while, but doesent anymore.
That headset blocker would be amazing if it would be working on ICS. Im on the LordMod Beta to.
@geinome would be amazing if you could make an app to fix that. But honestly i have no idea were in the sistem that headset control is located. Hope you can find it.
Found a Fix. Hope it helps you guys to.
I found an other App, that did solfe the problem for me eaven on ICS. The App Headset Interceptor is meant to let you choos, which Music App should receve the signal coming from the remote on the headset. But if you dont choose any from the Apps to get the signal, none dose and so none is cousing problems
Would love to post you guys the link to the market, but cant couse i dont have anouth post yet. But im sure i can sind it yourself
I hope this is solving the problem with the unwanted calls to. Couse i never had that problem, i cant test that.
you dont need any apps
you just need a needle to clean up the pocket lint inside the 3.55 jack.
for me it's usually enough to unplug the jack and plug it in again and all works well for the next month or so.

[Q] Popping sound when SMS interrupts music?

Got my Note3 on VZW last night, and so far i love almost everything about it....except...
I am sitting at work streaming music. I have a set of speakers plugged into the headphone jack.
When i receive an SMS (or any notification), the music pauses like normal. However, right before and after the pause, i hear a "pop" sound, as if i physically unplugged the speakers and plugged them back in. My Gnex that the note replaced definitely did not do this.
I don't believe it made the sound when connected BT in my car.
Is anyone else seeing this behavior? It sounds like a grounding issue.
Same for me

I am using Rhapsody, so there isn't another app option. I dont have any local music on the phone yet, but i will try that at some point.
I stream music through Rhapsody every day. I hope this isn't a hardware issue. Seeing poweramp work better makes me hopeful it is just a software issue.
